This is a lovely authentic family run Black Forest hotel. The meals were excellent. The staff are helpful. The rooms are reasonably large and well designed, which matters when you are staying for a week. The village/town of Glottertal is beautiful and full of places to eat. The local wine is good and available everywhere. The scenery is spectacular and there are great walks in the forest and hills. The hotel also provided a free bus and rail pass, which I believe was paid for by the regional government, for travel all over the region, as far as Basel and Karlsruhe. This is really useful and we had no idea we would be given this when booking.

The road is noisy. Use ear plugs. The dining room only serves dinner between 6pm and 7pm, which is a shame as the food is good. However there are other good restaurants within walking distance.

The hotel was a traditional architecture of german style, it was cosy, not crowded. The bed was the most comfortable I ever slept, it had a big balcony with a great view and you could relax in the chairs. In the morning you could hear birds singing and it was really quiet. The brakfast was amazing. 15 min from Freiburg, 1 hour from the airport, 1 hour from Colmar. We rented a car at the airport and it was a comfortable way of transport. The scenery of the black forest and all the villages nearby was stunning. The staff was great and helpful. The room was big and clean, it had all the comfort you could need and also a socket by the bed.

Fantastic in every respect. Spacious and comfortable rooms. Really friendly, knowledgeable and acommodating staff. The dinner offering was varied and was of excellent quality. A great breakfast too. Such a lovely hotel.

Very clean, very nice size room with comfortable bed, beautiful traditional style hotel in a great village location. Strong wifi. Dinner in the restaurant was really good.

Shower stall quite small, room should have a fridge and coffee/tea making facilities. Breakfast was quite basic but adequate.
