Very friendly and helpful staff at the Minerva! I really enjoyed my stay. The bedroom was well furnished and very clean with a really comfortable bed. The breakfast buffet had a nice selection of sweet and savoury and was presented well. The location is great too; just a few mins from the main station and well within walking distance of all the major attractions of this lovely city. Although the location is quite central, the room was quiet and the black-out curtains were very welcome too. The lovely man at the front desk was very helpful; giving me directions and checking train times too.

I would have liked a kettle in my room- but being British stereotype, I would say that!

The welcome was so welcoming and informative, I also felt comfortable from the moment I walked in. The whole hotel was lovely and clean, my room was completely fine and very clean (single room) with everything that you would need for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was more than I was expecting with breads, pastries, cereals, Cheeses, meat, eggs and even hot food. The staff were amazing and the coffee kept coming which totally suited. There was a lounge area where there were teas, coffee water etc with no extra charge. The house keeping was amazing. It was less than a 10 min walk from the stations and also less than 10 mins to the old town, cathedral and square. Highly recommend and if ever I was to visit again I would 100% stay there again. 10/10

The only complaint I might find (with a struggle) was no fridge and no safe in the room. Though having said that, I felt that the hotel was safe and trustworthy.

The location is very good, walking distance to both train station and city centre. My room was clean as well as the external bathroom which was big with modern facilities such shower and wash basin, etc. Slippers were also provided. There was no air conditioning in my room which might be hot during summer days but I opened the window at night and was pleasant. The bed was very comfy and the wifi was very good. Breakfast was excellent, it could not be better. It had a lot of varieties for all tastes and very delicious. Staff very helpful and welcoming, highly recommended!

This was our first stay at Minerva Hotel and surely it won't be the last. We found the staff very helpful and understanding. The hotel is excellently run and the level of cleanliness very high. We got all the items we wanted for breakfast. Moreover, check-in and check-out went without a hitch. The hotel is situated a few hundred metres away from train station on one side and a couple of blocks away from the Freiburg centre where you will find all kinds of restaurants, cafeterias, shops, big department stores and direct tram lines to various points on the city outskirts.

Excellent location, only a ten minute walk to the railway station. Great to see the sights of Frieburg. Balcony a bonus! Lovely welcoming staff. Lovely fresh breakfast, good selection.

No drink facilities in the bedroom, although free refreshments were available via reception area. TV didn't work. Mentioned to the staff, but on leaving, so it wasn't perhaps there fault. Mattress was rather soft, not good if you have a bad back!

We had a great stay at Hotel Minerva. Staff was so nice and very helpful. Room was clean, and had a nice little balcony with a table and chairs. Nice breakfast spread each morning. And the hotel is in a great location, walking distance to just about anything you'd want to do in Freiburg as well as the train station.

The entire hotel was very clean. my single room was spacious. staff were all very friendly. breakfast was great.

Poor soundproofing. I could hear a baby crying and kids screaming downstairs- all in their rooms behind closed doors. would be nice if they replenished breakfast items- i came down after 9am each day and some items were never refilled or left just one.

The hotel is very well located for both the train/bus stations and the Altstadt. It was very clean. The breakfast was pleasant and generous, with the possibility to dine outside.

The room was very small, even for a single. It lacked air conditioning and a personal safe. Although no one comes on holiday to watch TV, poor weather one day forced me inside and the lack of non-germanophone international channels was a bit of a surprise.

I loved staying at Hotel Minerva and visiting Freiburg. I had chosen the smallest room available, with a private bathroom in the hallway. The room was adorable, very comfortable, and attractive; the bathroom (with a key-- so it truly was private!) was large; the shower had great water pressure. Everything was perfectly clean. The breakfast was not only copious and delicious, but held in a lovely breakfast room, delightfully laid out. A great deal of care and pride is behind the breakfast, the rooms, the staff-- everything in this small hotel. Tea is available all day long, with a large selection of caffeinated and non-caffeinated options. I was even given a complimentary tram card to use for the duration of my stay. The location was superb, because it was a 7 minute walk from the train station and a 5 minute walk to the historic center. The hotel is as close to the historic center as possible, without being inside it. The housecleaning staff was great. Not only was everything spotless, but I needed help with a couple of things, and they were very gracious in their assistance. The historic center could not be more charming. Even the sidewalks are photo-worthy! Beautiful architecture, excellent coffee shops and boutiques make this a town to meander throughout. I live overseas, but would like to return to Freiburg with my husband some day to experience as a couple the charm of the town, the hiking trails accessed from the town, and the Schwarzwald. When I do return, I'll definitely stay at Hotel Minerva again.

Good location with a great breakfast offer. Staff is very friendly, helpful and responsive. Late check-in possible with keys in a box outside the hotel for pickup. Good for a short stay.

It was good but my room had a separated bathroom that I could only reach going through a hallway besides other rooms. A little expensive for one night offer.
