My husband, my son, and I were very warmly welcomed and well attended to by the reception, and from this friendly service, we could already tell it would be a great experience. The entire hotel is clean, organized, and quiet. It was wonderful, and I highly recommend it.

The hotel is centrally located with plenty of parking in walking distance to the event center, the park, and the downtown. it is clean and there is very friendly staff on site 24/7.

We did not understand, why they placed us in a room on the 4th floor facing the sun, and the loud morning traffic, if the hotel was entirely empty.

Good location for Techno Classica at Messe, just across the road from the hotel. Staff were very nice and friendly. Breakfast was very nice with plenty to choose from

Hotel is directly across from Messe Essen where I attended an Expo. Hotel is clean, quiet, well managed, and the staff very pleasant. There are loads of Restaurants within a few minutes walk, Cafes for Breakfast ect.

It is a very charming smaller hotel. Extremely helpful and friendly staff! Hotel an der Gruga is located in the south of Essen, about 25min by car from Düsseldorf airport and just 5min walking distance from my company‘s office. So a perfect location for me. will definitely be back

The rooms were clean and tidy

Fresh drinking still water was nice on arrival , unfortunately it was not replenished daily during our stay but we felt it should have been. There was shampoo available however we also felt that there also should have been shower gel and soap too available as standard.

Great location next to the Gruga park and some nice cafes on the street close by. The breakfast staff was outstanding and accomodated special requests (decaf, non-dairy milk). The rooms are very clean and comfortable.

It was a bit hot at night as the rooms don't have ACs.

There is a little park with benches in the inner courtyard. Very nice. Breakfast is fabolous as advertised (great variety).
