I stay at this hotel very often, and overall it’s an excellent choice. The location is perfect for me—just one tram/U-Bahn stop from the central station, with the added convenience of a parking garage. The staff is extremely friendly and professional, and the rooms are very comfortable. The highlight for me is definitely the wonderful bed: although mattresses are always a personal preference, I have honestly never slept so well in any other hotel.

The hotel itself is clean and well-maintained, but unfortunately the first room I was given smelled strongly of smoke. This is not the hotel’s fault, but rather the result of disrespectful guests who choose to smoke inside despite the rules. I personally think such behavior should be fined, as it negatively affects other visitors. Thankfully, the staff was helpful in providing me with another room, and the rest of my stay was pleasant.

Breakfast was excellent, with high quality foods and lots of different items to choose from. The family room we were given was spacious and offered a small divider to separate our space from that of our children. The location of the hotel is excellent; it's very near the Essen Central Railway station (walking distance), very near a Metro Station and it's walking distance from the Messe Essen (1,6km). Also, within very easy walking distance, there is a street parallel to the one the hotel is situated on, which offers a wide range of restaurants and shops. The staff was very friendly, spoke fluent English and everything was very easy for us.

The breakfast was delicious and the staff at breakfast were charming and hard working. The location is fantastic- so close to the Essen Philharmonie, the main train station, all forms of public transport, restaurants and the Messe /Grugapark. The 24 hour reception is great, the bar staff are super and so is the bar food. The rooms are fabulous and so helpful to have a small fridge.

It is nice to have a fancy coffee machine in the room but I would prefer to have a tea tray with a kettle and instant coffee and tea.

The staff at this hotel was very friendly, staff speaks fluent English and German and gave us a warm welcome. There's a bar with a terrace where you can order tasty cocktails at a fair price and the bartender was great. The location of the hotel is close to Grugahalle Essen where we went to a concert, and the club in the city centre we visited later. By taxi it only takes you a couple of minutes to go to either place or you can take a walk of about 20 minutes. The room was clean and spacious with a big television, capsule coffee machine (with coffee and black tea capsules), a bluetooth speaker and airconditioning. There's a parking garage right next to/under the hotel. There are soap, shampoo and body lotion dispensers in the bathroom so that's a great alternative for the single use mini toiletries. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

The only negative about our stay is the shower in our room. When we got back home after a night out at around 4AM the shower and the sink faucet only ran scorching hot water and would just not get colder. Since it was late and we were tired we didn't contact the front desk. In the morning the water was okay again but we couldn't get the shower to continue running from the shower head (it kept changing back to the bath faucet) because the switch didn't seem to work properly. I highly doubt this is something that happens often though so I wouldn't worry about it ;) (Not necessarily a bad thing but a note for people with allergies: there is slightly fluffy carpet in the room. I do have to say it was vacuumed well since I have allergies but it didn't bother me during my stay.)

We loved the addition of a buffet, after a long day at Spiel it was a great option to have. Last year we really needed something like this. Hopefully it will come back next year.

The toilet needs a shower curtain. The glass doors in the bath is not enough to stop water falling on the floor.

The room was large and a great size for a family, a separate area with large bed and a large sofa bed for the kids. The location of the hotel was great, a short walk into Essen on way and to lots of restaurants the other. The hotel staff were really helpful and the sweets and coffee in reception were a nice touch.

The hotel was beautiful. The atrium had intimate seating areas for private conversations and a cafe. The room is comfortable and well lit with seating for two people. The bed offered a good night’s sleep. We will stay here again.

Did not use the breakfast, so I can't say much about it. I have used it previuos years and it was good.

I think most things are great, but I'd love if you could have one or two more items on the menu. Some sandwiches perhaps, or some noodle dish that is easy to heat in the oven (lasagna etc). Also, some more snack options like potato crisps would be great.

Location was very good, walking distance from Messe and city centrum. Reception staff was really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, special thanks about good coffee machine. Our room (Deluxe Queen) was really nice, spacious, light and nicely furnished.

Bed was hard and pillows bad. Lot of traffic noise, very busy street. Very eager house keeping, were coming to clean early morning (but did a good job though). Not a restaurant in the hotel, bar was very basic, but good restaurants nearby.

Rooms are recently renovated, they look great. The staff at reception were so friendly. The bed was very confortable and I loved that they are trying to reduce plastic waste: there were no plastic trash liners and the cosmetics in the bathroom were big refillable bottles. Breakfast was not included, but it was worth the money we paid: so many good options.
