A great location, an easy short walk from the main shopping. The staff were helpful, and the breakfast was good, with a reasonable range of buffet items. The fitness room was well equipped and well maintained. Parking was easily accessible at the rear of the hotel (via a barrier at the front) and cost 15 Euros per night (but see below comment).

Parking was full on Saturday night during our stay, and we had to use a multi-storey car park nearby (which was actually 14 Euros per night rather than 15, so not much of a problem). Breakfast was very busy on Saturday morning at 9 o'clock - we would have gone at a different time had we been warned. The rooms are in a modern minimalist style with no desk, wardrobe or proper table on one side of the bed. There is hanging rail and a strange metal grill type arrangement which can be used to hang clothes on (see pictures of the rooms and you'll see what I mean), but I would prefer a more traditional arrangement.

Nice and helpful staff at the reception, great location- short walking distance to all shops, quiet accommodation although quite central, reasonable room size for our family of 4, clean, comfortable beds , nice powerful shower, lots of electric plugs which was very helpful. Breakfast had good options, all ok for our taste, nice pancakes and coffee! Parking available on the street with no charge or enclosed private parking for €15/ night.

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in! The staff are absolutely amazing, the hotel in general is cosy and comfortable. The rooms are large, very well designed and also very comfy. The location is really good as well, with a small parking lot in the back of the hotel and many other parking options nearby.

Excellent location - 3 minutes walk to Essen central station using exit/entrance F - Breakfast was super !! everything you need and more and very clean and spacious eating area - food was great and bakery always fresh. What also mattered the most was the MOXY sign on the hotel - reflecting upon the facing building - made it extremely easy to identify for late/ night arrivers - so look for that !! Use exit F as you come out form Essen central station - excellent value for money !

Receptionist in early morning during early check-out - need more number of staff because a lot of customers would need to be rapidly checking out in order to getting running to their businesses - so may be a third staff member on the computer terminals for a more speedy check-out procedure - otherwise - everything was great !!

Cleanliness and friendly service

On my initial booking day there was no option to choose a separate bed for each adult, we were 4 over 23 years old adults where none of us wanted to sleep next to each other, but on our check in we were told that we don’t have separate beds available for any of you at this time of the night! even I added the request for separate beds for all of us at the comment box at the last page of my booking.

Beautiful and elegant hotel. The room was fabulous, spacious, clean. Never slept so well. Very courteous staff. Breakfast good and plentiful. Very nice hotel bar. Next time I come back to Essen, I want to stay here again.

I found nothing wrong with it other than the inability to be able to increase or decrease the thermostat beyond a certain value. Other than that,everything was just perfect and the next time I am in Essen, I will book this Hotel again

The facility is easily accessible from the airport by train and is close to the station. Everything is very clean and neat. Spacious and comfortable room. Rich and plentiful breakfast. Staff very helpful and friendly. We have come several times to the Moxy and will definitely come again.

I went here for the Taylor Swift Concert and they went above and beyond to make the stay as accommodating and memorable as possible. The staff was extremely friendly, the rooms were quiet and clean and the prices were very moderate in comparison to other properties in the area. I’d always come back!!

The automatic light when you get off the bed, it woke my partner the whole time. Would be nice to turn it off. Also, unable to comcast to tv and the instructions are not very good. Even a Google search shows this is a common issue for many people.

Clean, modern, close to hauptbahnhof, very good selection of TV channels, comfortable bed and pillow, night can be quiet, breakfast rich, staff very professional and willing.

No kettle, a/c/ventilation not very quiet and cannot be silenced completely (use earplugs). Premises for breakfast totally unsuitable, chaotic and noisy.
