Nice big room with a comfortable bed & pillows, maybe a little bit smaller bathroom. It is extraordinary clean. Good location, near the city center; they have parking but you can use garages in the vicinity. Best value for money. Check-in and breakfast area is at the hotel nearby, 30 meters entrance to entrance. Nice breakfast too, all you can need (coffee, tea, cereal, yogurt, fresh juice, charcuteries and even smoked salmon). Water in the room and they even checked with us if we need anything else, even water. I liked that attention to details.

The Stay Hotel was one of the hotels in which I have felt more hospitable than ever in my travels. A very good experience that started right from the start. As soon as we entered the hotel, I met a very friendly and dedicated staff who offered us a welcome drink while we were ready to go to our room. This trip I was with my friends with whom we had gone for Euro 2024. Fortunately, it was the Germany match and the owner, or the manager, with a very nice gesture, gave us 4 shirts of the German national team (for how many people there were). Also, the rooms were very clean and the breakfast very good. I will definitely recommend it to anyone who asks me.

Nothing, everything was excellent.

The room is equipped with all you need (the desk, the good chair for the desk, the electric pot, the closet with smart design). The bath room is also compact yet sufficiently equipped. Ideal for a frequent business traveler. The breakfast buffet is great with variety and good quality. Last but not least, the reception staff is kind, helpful and efficient with providing information. I felt very welcomed at the check-in.

The desk light and the radiator need to be dusted off. Behind the curtain, there was a dried laundry of previous guest hung on the radiator.

Upon arrival, we were happily surprised by being offered a free welcome drink. We also got given a different key to usual in case we didn't get let into the football ground with the original key which looked quite large and heavy. The car park, although a little compact, was perfectly situated, but they did say there was a bit further up that we could park in if we couldn't fit. We didn't need to explore that option. It was €7.50 a day. It was a great location, right near the station and a 10 minute walk to the centre of Essen. The bed was so comfortable - I slept like a log and nearly missed checkout 😂

Couldn't fault anything. Was great value for money and much better than we expected.

The room had coffee and tea making facilities and was very spacious. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

I did NOT like that Booking.com supplied NO CONTACT details for the hotel because I was very delayed in the travel due to the german railways having issues on the 2 Oct. This meant I arrived at 23.15 at the hotel and it was all closed up and I had no contact point meaning I had to book another hotel for that evening. BOOKING.COM REALLY NEED TO SUPPLY CONTACT DETAILS OF HOTELS.

Overall happy with my stay, no problems and the staff was helpful and friendly. The location is excellent in the city center and the room was quiet and comfortable, with a large shower and new bathroom. Breakfast was buffet style with enough variety and at a reasonable price (esp. compared with other hotels).

No significant issues, I am mentioning a few points as they may be of interest to other travelers. - Mattress and pillows were too soft for my taste - note that I did not ask the hotel for a firmer pillow. - Like several other hotels, the door to the bathroom is made out of frosted glass and is sliding - for some this may be annoying when sharing a room. - There is no fridge - this is is clear when booking the room. - I would have liked the option of having lactose-free or vegan milk etc in the breakfast buffet, so if this is important to you perhaps you could contact the hotel in advance.

Curtains are not opaque enough and a lot of light gets in the room in the morning, not ideal for someone who doesn't want to wake up early during a vacation.

Close to the main train station and walking distance to the centre of town. Room is of a good size, everything is clean and works well. Well insulated against noise. Friendly staff.
