I was looking for a hotel near Aalto Theater, because I don't like to take trains late in the evening during the winter season. This hotel is only a 5 minutes' walk both from the theatre and from the main train station. The city centre is also only 10 minutes away. So the location is perfect. It's situated on a side street, so there's no noise in the rooms. The staff is kind, the rooms clean and practical. The single rooms are small and nonetheless there's no problem of lacking space. The shower is particularly good. Breakfast is available already at 6:30 even in the weekend, which I found good, because I usually stay up quite early. Breakfast is good, or better said, for the price very good. You'll find some sorts of bread, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, müsli, ham, salami, cheese, little sausages and meat balls, fresh fruit, two sorts of juice, a coffee machine with good coffee, little cinnamon rolls... I was satisfied of my stay here and I'll book here again, when I need a stay for theatre events.

This is an excellent option if you have a short stay in Essen. It is very close to the central railway station. Even though it was close to the motorway, the soundproofing was excellent. I had a single room with a very spacious bathroom. The single bed was actually closer to a double than a single. The reception staff were friendly and very helpful.

It would have been a welcome plus if there had been a tea and coffee machine in the lounge for guests to use outside breakfast time. To get to the hotel you need to walk down a little side road which made me a little nervous especially as it was dark by 4.30.

The hotel is very easy to reach on food from station.Easy check in if there is no reception.If there is no mini bar in your room there is an automatic machine at the breakfast room with drinks and more in logical prices.Its not romantic but if you are there for work or just to stay is perfect.

Great location near train station and a very nice guy working the front desk who was very helpful. Nice clean room and a great bathroom with a fantastic shower. I would stay here again.

The economy rooms face the highway so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. The bed was too soft and the wifi was slow.

Nice building with good spacious room. The bathroom is practical and clean. Parking at the back is practical.

A refrigerator is missing. Often not used, I guess. The pillows were quite difficult to use. A strange type of plastic foam inside. This type of pillow was also in a hotel in the Netherlands.

Really nice hotel. Comfortable, new, convenient location. Convenient parking. Friendly staff. It seems that Friday maybe part of the weekend and that this hotel has a lot of guests that travel for work. There are large companies nearby. It was pretty quiet.

The ventilator motor for the ventilation of the bathroom makes a high tone noise. An inspection opening for the double ceiling was open. Noticed this only in the morning. Maybe a reason why this noise was pretty strong in the night during 30 min. or 45 min.. Provided that you can hear these high tones.

Great value for cost. Room is small but has all the basics that are expected and was really clean. Shower pressure was also great.

Pillows were not confortable. But this not the hotel's problem. This is something I've experienced several times in Germany.

Very clean, I loved it. Very close to the trains and bus station, quiet neighbourhood, good service.

The hotel vending machine ate my money as the product got stuck. No contact data on the machine to complain to the vendor. I told the staff at the checkout, but received no answer. This does not affect the hotel rating,as their service and hotel was great.

The breakfast was awesome, especially considering how little I paid. The location was perfect- super close to the train station (which made exploring surrounding cities easy), but far enough that we weren't affected by noise.

The bathroom had a sort of smell to it, partially I think, due to standing water. Flushing the toilet helped with that, but I think that was the only real downside.

The location of this hotel was superb. A short few mins walk from the Main station in Essen. The room was clean and comfortable.

Food options outside of breakfast were limited to a vending machine.
