It was a quick overnight stay prior to leaving for home the next day, but what a nice way/place to end the two week long trip! The hotel/restaurant typified the "traditional" Bavarian building/location/atmosphere that we were looking for. It's name may be "Old Post", but the accommodations were up-to-date, clean, quaint, and comfortable. The restaurant did reflect the Bavarian cuisine, the menu listed many choices, the service was great and the food was delicious! They also had a good-sized private bier garden, however it was raining and obviously not open. The owner was very gracious. We arrived several hours early, but she allowed us to store our baggage while we took off for Munich for last minute shopping and touring. We had an early check-out/departure the next day, and she arranged in-advance for taxi service that morning, which was right on time. (for info: 25 euro for the service-there were four of us and we required a van). I would not hesitate staying there again.

We had an early flight from Munich airport so wanted a property that was close to airport rather than in the city. We had two nights and spent the day in Munich city. We caught the 512 (comes every 30 minutes) bus to terminal one, then the train into the city and back, then the 512 bus back to the hotel. All very easy. The beer garden for dinner was excellent. We also had the buffet breakfast which was good.

Nothing significant that would stop us from staying there again.

The location was only about a ten minute drive from the Munic airport which is what we were looking for as we had a flight the next morning. The restaurant was totally authentic German and charming. The staff was VERY friendly and the food delicious! The room was very basic however clean and comfortable. This was fine for our brief one night stay transferring to the airport the next morning. The taxi was 21euro each way to/from the airport.

Easily accessible from the airport/train station to City Centre via taxi or bus. Taxi fare is about 20 Euro. The bus stop is right out front, and is a short ride to the airport center Historic property (local post and guest house). Staff were especially helpful (helped carry our suitcase upstairs to our room). Room was clean and comfortable, and opened out above the courtyard below. We did not eat breakfast or dinner there due to our activities, but the dining room is quite cozy. We stayed there again when returning to Munich to fly home. Definitely would stay there again.

We need to stay for a night at MUC airport as our flight was cancelled The location is not far from the airport and it was not very expensive for 14 hours to stay. We really appreciate that the staff was very friendly: despite the reception was till 22.00 they were waiting for us till 22.30 and prepared the room, the key etc Super!

Nothing, but you have to get ready that this is the place for the short stay: small, clean, comfortable.

If you want to get off the beaten path just a little, and still be a short 12 minute bus ride from the Munich airport, THIS is the place to be. True, down-to-earth Bavarian German hospitality! My room (#19) was large, clean, comfortable, quiet, and real down filled pillows and comforters! The breakfasts were out of this world for 13€! Evening dinners were equally amazing, everything individually prepared and most full (and very filling) meals under 20£. Nice beer selection as well. You have to take Bus #512 from Terminal One bus stop #3, or Terminal Two bus stop #17. 3,7€ each way for individual tickets. Staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. You can stay right near the airport at a nice, but sterile hotel, or at a family owned Gasthof that oozes old style charm!! Note: Do NOT take a cab to or from airport! Legal extortion! 68€ ($72USD) for a 10 minute/8km ride!! Bus from/to airport drops off and picks up literally in front of the Gasthof. Buses run from 3am to midnight! If you don’t speak German as I did, staff is very good in English.

No fridge or coffee hot pot in room. Not a show stopper, but hot pot for coffee/tea would have been nice.

Great location, near Munich airport. This is a family-run Guesthouse/Post/Alehouse with a delightful atmosphere. There is a nice cozy dining room and a beer garden just outside. The staff were very accommodating to our need for an early morning taxi back to the airport. They called and arranged it for us. We stayed there when we first arrived in Munich and returned 2+ weeks later on our way back home. There is a delightful Italian restaurant just down the street that the hotel recommended because their dining room was closed for a private event. The bus stop is out front and very easy to use to go to Airport Center for a plane or to catch the train into City Centre. Highly recommend.

Know that because of the age of the inn, it does not have all the modern amenities. That was fine with us. We did not have breakfast during our stay, but having access to coffee would have been a plus.

The staff here were incredibly kind. I was having an international emergency, having lost a passport. I would be traveling to downtown Munich the next day to go to the US Embassy. Every single staff person here was outstanding and kind. From a woman checking me in, to a young woman waiter, who saved a table for me, to the woman who made me scrambled eggs and called my taxi. Thank you.

I had a bit of a challenge getting in and out of the narrow shower, I think. Also, the bed was quite small--but the price was fine.

The kitchen provided excellent food. The owners waited up for my very late arrival

The booking.com address was inaccurate in Apple Maps. The correct address is in Steig. Kitchen was closed over the weekend starting Friday. It was okay and the hotel refunded my Saturday breakfast cost. There was an excellent dinner option Friday a short walk away. The hotel is located on a fairly busy street so there was traffic noise all night but it was a good trade off for the ease of getting to the airport.

Fabulous hotel. Staff are very friendly. Food is amazing!! Really close to the airport and superb service. A true gem of a hotel. Do not drive past this place. Stop in and stay here for the airport. True Bavarian hospitality. You will be looked after very well.
