Hotel Schwert is a bit of an institution in Rastatt. It is comfortable without ostentation and professionally managed in every way. I thought my room a tad small, even for a single, but the built in bathroom with an excellent shower, made it quite acceptable. Breakfast is good by any standard, and the Germans are big on breakfast. A magnificent buffet with every imaginable combination of juces, cerials, hot drinks, cooked bacon and eggs/sausage/hash-browns and even chicken wings with breads and pastries etc., to follow, fully lives up the the boast of a gourmet start to the day. The dining room was not in use, but being in the centre of the town there is a wide range of dining to be had.

Lovely Hotel in the centre of town. Upon arrival there was a band playing on the balcony and the whole town was watching. Quite the wonderful surprise. Room was very spacious and comfortable. Always appreciate a (glass) bottle of water upon arrival. Breakfast was very elaborate and they even offer coffee to go. The amazingly impressive Rastatt castle (fashioned after Versailles) is only a few minutes walk away and unfortunately closed on Sundays as we would definitely have liked to visit. There are loads of nice restaurants in beautiful small streets opposite the front entrance of the Castle.

The lady at the front desk was lovely and welcoming when we arrived. The lady at the front desk when we left rather the opposite. Not even a "how was your stay" or any other show of interest. It is amazing how much a difference that makes.

Young man at reception desk was very pleasant, helpful and accommodating. Easy bicycle access from trail . Excellent inside room for storing bicycles. Elevator to get us and bike trailers to upper rooms . Room very clean with many windows for light and ventilation . Cute little balcony over the street below . Nice clean bathroom with toiletries . Close to a number of nice restaurant choices , one of which we had dinner named Pinocchio, and about 200m. walk to the large central walking plaza .

No electrical receptacles near the bed but there were extension cords in the room to allow for using electric devices on bed stands .

Wonderful Stay – Highly Recommended! I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The location is excellent. The room was neat and clean, with a spacious bathroom. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and check-in was quick and easy. The highlight was definitely the breakfast — absolutely amazing, with a great variety and fresh options. Would definitely stay here again!

This is an old nice hotel with cozy modern equipment, a very generous breakfast buffet and very helpful and friendly service. The location is perfect. There are quite a selection of good restaurants nearby without having to drive. We loved it. We would definitely come back.

It can get a little noisy for noise sensitive people not being used to be in a city.

The hotel has a great central, in town, location. The building is beautiful traditional architecture. There's plenty of parking & you can drop off right outside the entrance. The staff are super friendly, helpful 7 make you feel very welcome. The rooms are clean, BIG & the beads are superbly comfortable. The breakfast is out of this world & by the far the best hotel breakfast we've experienced. Honestly, it's worth it just for the breakfast. Finally, the hotel is very dog friendly & us travelling with our 4legged friend was no problem. We'll 100% be retuning.

Location in the center close to many very nice restaurants. Very friendly staff. Wonderful breakfast with wide selection of choices. Free parking. Really great value for the price.

Feeling of a little old but has to be when hotel is located in thE older building.

The location of the hotel is perfect. We appreciated the free parking behind the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really nice. We really enjoyed our stay in Rastatt.

We would have appreciated the AC as it was rather hot in Rastatt during our stay. The room had a fan but it didn't help much. Luckily, the nights were cooler.

Really pleasant young man at reception . Great inside secure bicycle storage . Lift to room . Room clean , bright and comfortable . Bathroom clean , nice tub with shower . Close to city center with multiple shops and restaurants . Ate at Pinnochio’s and had a very good Italian dinner .
