There is not one particular area in which this hotels excels but it simply scores high on all fronts: excellent location, good restaurant, spacious (renovated) rooms, friendly staff. The location within the center of scenic Soltau is fanatastic.
The only thing that a traveller passing through would like to have is for the (very good) breakfast to start half an hour earlier.

Beautifully located near a park. Very walkable area.
My room was at the very top floor and the perfect size for me travelling alone. However, an elderly traveller might find it hard to get up the stairs with their suitcase. No help was offered, so you must be fit to get your luggage up there.

Despite the really odd name, this is a lovely place. Parking was no problem (and free), the host speaks very good English, the room was bigger than we expected, and our dog was welcome. There are some lovely walks in the area for exercising our four-legged pal (although the area clearly has a problem with moles!) and the attached restaurant is a fine place with a good-looking and interesting menu. Breakfast was also very good.
The wifi wasn't great, but it worked. Beyond that, we had no complaints at all. It wasn't perfect (is anywhere?), so not 10 out of 10, but certainly well into the 90s on a scale of 1-100.

Convenient location, easy to reach the old town even on foot. Breakfast was great, also lovely staff members. The rooms look better in reality than in the photos.

Clean, well maintained. Really good in-house restaurant for dinner and breakfast.
Was a bit hot in the room and wifi coverage in particular room was a bit poor.

Some parts of the hotel were not renewed, but it was ok.

Very clean, quiet and nice room. Good location. Good breakfast and very good food in restaurant.
There seemed to be a bit too few parking places. The staff wasn’t very friendly and service in restaurant was poor although the food itself was very good.

Breakfast was nicely laid out. Coffee was excellent!
The wifi was extremely spotty on our bedroom which was very frustrating.
