While usually this hotel is used for 1-2 nights only (proximity to the Autobahn), we stayed for 4 nights and really didn't regret it. Many attractions nearby (Snowdome, Heide-park, Lüneburger Heide, Serengeti park, etc), very child-friendly and great food too. Top personnel :)

Can't think of anything we didn't like. Car charging is a bit pricy, but it is directly at the hotel so that is more than compensating for the price

We stayed in a family room at Neumanns Waldschänke for one night when travelling through Germany on the A7. The check-in was convinent via a code from the outside as the rest of the establishment (restaurant) was closed on the Monday we arrived. The family room was spacious with a double bed and a bunk bed in a separate room. The bathroom was modern and good in size. We appreciated the complimentary sparkling waters and the room amplifier that could be used to play your own music. The breakfast was good, and the staff offered us freshly made Cappuccinos and scrambled eggs. Our kids used the playroom and the playground for a short time before we had to had to get back on the road again. We would be happy to stay at Neumanns Tavern again when travelling through Germany, maybe next time to visit the nearby amusement park.

Tiny hotel (5 rooms) with a family feel. My dinner in the restaurant downstairs was really good (try the half duck). The room was quite simple but clean, bed was comfy, bathroom seemed brand new. Availability of an EV charger (even two) was a big plus for me (many hotels in Germany still haven't got any chargers).

The only improvement that I want to suggest, is that the room lacks a desk and desk chair. I still had quite some work to do after dinner and the small coffee table and wicker chairs are not very suitable for that.

Lovely breakfast, nice and clean room, very friendly people.

We had some issues with a very noisy AC unit that kept us up all night. The manager said he knew what it was, and that he would get it looked at, so hopefully it won't be a problem for future guests.

Very nice family lead hotel with superb rustic kitchen. Cosy family room with large bathroom. Awesome breakfast and very friendly staff.

Dinner and charging station are a little pricey.

Great place to stay with little kids. Playground and inside playarea. Diaper changing area. Staff was great with the kids and made an extra effort for them. We really felt welcome with the kids. Close to the A7 highway made it the perfect stop over. Very calm room.

Used hotel to stay between two days of visiting the Heide roller coasters park - it was the closest available hotel we found. Breakfast was surprisingly great - served and tasted. Interior and all small details in the hotel was very inspiring! Stuff spoke English very well.

Strange was that reception and restaurant is in the same place. Dinner in the restaurant was too expensive in my opinion. I understood that there s served some eco grown meat, but we would like to eat something simple and more cheaper. Hotel was too far away from another restaurants and we were too tired of the 1st day at Heide Park, so stayed at the hotels restaurant, but I suggest other guests to go find some different place if don't want to spend a lot of money.

Playground outside and inside was great so parents can enjoy a nice dinner calmly. The staff was friendly and helpful.
