Basic 2 star hotel clean and comfortable in the centre of the Plaka with great view of the acropolis . The room I had have a fridge air-conditioning and balcony with a great view of the acropolis. The soundproofing to the busy street outside was excellent. Within walking distance of a number of places to visit. Very close to Acropolis Metro Station making it easy to come from the airport.

I have been to this hotel twice before and therefore I knew what to expect. For others the bathroom size might be an issue as it is small and has a fold out shower. It is however easy to master .

The location is PERFECT! Plaka, the historical center of Athens, just below(!) the Acropolis, most of the historical sites close. Next to the underground station "Acropolis", the central square Syntagma 7 minute walking distance. The breakfast served at the hotel terrace with a view of the Acropolis, the Lycabettus hill - MAGIC!! Hot water in the bathroom!! GREAT! It is not always in every hotel. really hot water, we APPRECIATED it(!), as it was cold outside the days we were staying. 24-hour reception!

The room should have some glasses. At least plastic. One might want to bring something to drink. We asked for glasses, were given 2 plastic ones. An electric kettle in the room would also be nice - one needs to make a cup of tea before going to sleep for instance. Or just something warm, hot any time. The underground goes under the hotel - nothing uncomfortable, but you might feel it. I would have expected (and appreciated) breakfast to be included in the price + (paying extra for breakfast) I would have apprecited variety of cheese and salami/ham, not just 1 kind. No complain, just comparison to breakfast I ate in other hotels of similar kind.

We needed a last minute hotel for one night and luckily we found Hotel Byron. Could not ask for a better location! The room was clean and the outside balcony area was a pleasant surprise.. comfortable outdoor seating & could watch the hustle & bustle of people below.

Upon arrival, the front desk lady was so nice & pleasant! We got there early & our room wasn’t ready but she let us charge our phones & eat our pastries & coffee in the lobby. She also let us leave our luggage there. However, my husband did encounter another male front desk person later on that was not friendly & kind of rude… basically like he didn’t want to be bothered. :(

This is a good 3 star hotel. Good value for the money. Comfortable beds, good breakfast buffet with a stellar view of the Acropolis. I had a room with queen and a single. Floor space minimal and bathroom very tight with little counter space, but totally adequate for the limited hours I was actually in the room. Relatively quiet although one evening there was a music group on the sidewalk below until 11pm. Not the fault of the hotel, but be aware that the hotel is on an active shopping street with very little traffic. The front desk is manned 24 hours and they were all helpful and pleasant. Location,location,location in the heart of Plaka. Easy walking distance to Syntagma, Monostiraki, Acropolis and most ancient sites.

The location was very handy, it was clean and they responded quickly to our queries. We arrived late in the night (close to midnight) and there was no issue with the check in.

No signal for the WiFi. When we told the receptionist (one guy having a night shift if I remember correctly), he acted like we distracted him from what he way doing and he acted like we don't know to which network to connect. Needless to say that we did connect indeed to the one he suggested but on the 1st floor the signal was barely there, so we used our own mobile network. And the housekeepers were talking out loud in the morning like there was no one there sleeping inside the rooms.

Hotel is located right at the plaka with amazing view directly to the acropolis. Room is very basic and it’s a great place for exploring the town or for a short stay. Beds were comfortable and shower had hot water. Good value for your money

Shower drain can’t catch up with the water flow so the whole place gets flooded once you take a shower. We booked a room for 4 adults and only had sheets for 3 and towels for 2 adults. We arrived very late so it was inconvenient to go to the lobby to start hunting the sheets and towels. Phone in the room was not working so we couldn’t call for assistance.

Proximity to best spots of Plaka, acropolis, museum was amazing The blonde lady on reception really made my stay and helped out w food, info about various things, places to eat, directions.. very nice

From home I booked a room w photos of view of acropolis, balcony etc.. when I got there I was in a prison cell room, tiny windy didn’t open, tiny dirty old bathroom… was a shock. I cried. They moved me after I complained the next day. They know I had the one with balcony booked and that is the amount I paid.. for the more expensive room. Was annoyed

Staff were really helpful, room was clean & comfortable. Great location!

Always stay here on my visits to Athens before Xmas. The third year coming here. I chose the hotel because of the location. It is so close to the Acropolis and Acropolis Museam. Also the view from the rooftop restaurant.

I chose the basic double room with a bathroom. Which is just that, but as I am not in it, much doesn't bother me. It probably does need a spruce up and is dated. It's also fairly compact with no views at all. So, it can seem a bit dark. It does the job for me as a solo traveller. If you are a couple, I would recommend paying extra for a balcony/view double.

The location was perfect - steps from the Acropoli Metro Station and in the top of the Plaka. In spite of this, it was super quiet! Also, we liked that it was a renovated older hotel, so it didn’t have that sterile feeling that some newer ones have. And of course the view from the rooftop breakfast room/cocktail bar was unbeatable.

Sometimes staff were not as helpful as they could be, such as the man who told us there were no drop-off laundries in the area - we found one on our own, and the woman who told us that no hotels make clothes drying racks available to customers, when two of the ones we stayed in recently had. Also, this may sound a bit finicky, but there was too much furniture in the room - there really wasn’t enough room to comfortably move between three beds - we only needed one.
