I was here with my son for three nights (to see Brighton & Hove Albion FC qualify for the Europa League knockout phase... Seagulls! ;-). CityZoe lived up to the excellent reviews. The location cannot be bettered. You literally walk left and look up at the base of the Acropolis, turn right and it's Hadrian's Arch. The neighbourhood is safe, very pretty, and very green and just dotted with so many wonderful cafe's, bars, bakeries, restaurants and boutique shops. It's a joy. Plaka and nearby Monastiraki are just great. My first visit to Athens and I really fell in love with this vibrant, cool, fascincating historical and gritty/real city. Stayed in the Minerva Suite which was a bit snug for me and my son, but it is a lovely, contemporary room with a super comfy bed and it was spotless with beds/sheets changed every day. Great waking up to the sound of parrots squawking and a bit of city life. Finally, the reception staff, like all hospitality in Greece from my experience, were wonderful, charming, great fun and super helpful. Could not ask for more. A fantastic city break in a brilliant apartment.

Nothing really. We didn't bother with the breakfast box.. mainly because going out and picking an amazing roof top restaurant/cafe and having wonderful, excellent value, top breakfasts out each morning was so great. We were here late Nov/early Dec and were blessed with 20 degrees and cloudless skies every day. Do stay here.. it's brilliant.

Central location for sightseeing and close to metro/bus. Very welcoming staff (Mandy) let us check in early and gave us tips for the area. Very comfortable beds, strong a/c, lovely garden view, spacious floor and shower. Clean and quiet from the outside street bustle. Loved the towel heating radiator in the bathroom. Nice rooftop view of Acropolis and Athens, especially at night. Would stay here again!

Hera room is right next to reception desk, so needed to be mindful of noise we make and noise we could hear outside. No vent in the bathroom.

The facility is in the perfect location in Plaka,it easy to get around anywhere from there and the Acropolis is just a brief and pleasant walk away. It is modern, comfortable and extra clean, which is something that I value very much! in the room there is a kettle and a coffee machine and the mattress is one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in! I would definitely rebook and I would definitely suggest it for anyone who is visiting Athens! Best value for my money!

i didn’t enjoy the glass door of the bathroom, I prefer privacy.

The location!!! The hotel is ideally located in the Plaka just steps away from great restaurants, shopping and the Acropolis and the museum. So easy to walk to the Roman Agora and Monastiraki district n too. It all felt like a safe area to be in. There is also a vending truck right across the street with snacks, beverages and miscellaneous items which was super convenient. We also enjoyed the rooftop patio with a great view of the Acropolis for evening get togethers with our friends. The receptionist was very friendly with excellent English and helpful. The hotel is really small, so our group of 10 almost felt like it was our own BnB. And the entrance is just a single door…like going into an apartment…was delightful to call it our home for a few days.

The elevator is old and small, but typical of old buildings in Europe, in our experience. We chose to mostly use the wide stairs to our room on the third floor. The shower was large, which was nice, but had a few issues. We had a hard time getting hot water. We’re not sure if the faucet was finicky or if hot water was low because all the other guests were taking late afternoon showers before dinner too. The water kind of floods out of the shower into the rest of the bathroom, which was odd but not really a problem since there were multiple bath mats. Neither of these comments reduce our opinion that it was an excellent choice for our short stay of 3 nights.

The room was located right by the reception desk, so you could hear when people were talking to the receptionist. We also had people knocking on our door, thinking it is the receptionist room. The balcony of the room didn’t have space to seat down and the view from it was the back of the building, not very pleasant. I would also suggest to add a few hangers inside the shower room, as it is inconvenient to not have a place to hang towels and clothes

Perfect location for all the tourist things in Athens. Busy in the Plaka, near all the food/shopping/acropolis. The roof deck was a great addition to the hotel. Save some money, buy a bottle of wine and have a perfect quiet view on the roof. We had a hot water problem on day one that were immediately fixed. The staff was super attentive! They helped us get a cab for our 4am flight home as well. Just a great place run by very helpful staff (even though the desk isn't 24hr we had no issues)

It would have been perfect if breakfast was included.

The hotel was in the best possible location. Close to lots of great tavernas and shops - i in the heart of Plaka. Walking distance to the Acropolis and other sites. It has a wonderful rooftop where we took up a last drink of the evening to enjoy a sunset view of Acropolis mountain. Mandy, the manager, is absolutely brilliant. Helpful, friendly and full of great tips for places to see and eat out. Our taxi from the airport dropped us right outside the door - the hotel is literally next to the start of the old streets area.

Beautiful room with a garden courtyard view. The lighting was fantastic, the room was spotlessly clean, and the attention to details like the heated towel rack really made a difference. The location can't be beat next to the Acropolis and the red metro line. The host was super responsive to messages and helpful as well. I would definitely stay here if you can.

My only complaint is related to noise and it's minor compared to the benefits. My room was right by reception and while the room is pretty sound insulated otherwise, through the door you could hear reception and everyone coming and going. Also the metro line must run right under the place as you can feel the low rumble from time to time but it didn't really bother me.

My stay at CityZoe Athens was beyond amazing! On a quiet street yet right under the Acropolis, the location couldn't be more perfect. Every corner of the property had an aesthetic charm, creating a pleasant experience from the moment you arrive. The room was well-equipped, comfortable, and efficiently and thoughtfully designed. What really set this stay apart was the value for money and, most notably, the outstanding communication with the hosts. They reached out on WhatsApp with detailed instructions before my arrival and followed up daily to ensure everything was perfect and to see if I needed anything. If you're visiting Athens, I cannot recommend CityZoe highly enough.

The location is perfect. Within walking distance of many of the city's attractions and places of interest. The metro is close allowing easy arrival and departure from the airport, only one simple train change to make. The tram and bus services are also within walking distance. We took public transport to the beach. The receptionist was very helpful getting us started with the city's orientation. The room, we had a balcony, roomy, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Stylish and well maintained accommodation.

Our one complaint, which may not be an issue with others, is the bathroom had a glass sliding door which gave a direct view of the toilet. A view of the shower wasn't a problem but the toilet we found awkward and uncomfortable. In our personal opinion this door should be opaque not clear.
