I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Domes Elounda Aulus Hotel and it was a great and relaxing vacation from start to finish. The location of the hotel is very close to the beach and since the property is scattered along the side of a hill / mountain, the views from everywhere are breathtaking. I stayed in one of the Zen suites in the Cool Living section with private pool and bath tub right by the window overlooking the sea...simply stunning. On the cold, windier days, this was a great way to wind down and warm myself up :-) The Cool Living section also grants you access to the Greco Levante restaurant and I had the pleasure of dining here twice. Both times I feel were the culinary highlight of our stay as the food was haute cuisine and the service was impeccable. Given it is at the highest point of the resort, the ambience and views were stunning. For the majority of our meals, we dined at the Island Buffet regularly as we like to take our time. I found there were many options to choose from at either breakfast, lunch or dinner. There surely is something for everyone. We ate at the Yellow Sea restaurant once which was very delicious but opted not to return because it was a very rushed dining experience. I would like to make a special aside here to mention that what truly sets Domes Elounda Aulus Hotel apart from the rest is the exceptional staff present from every category of the hotel: reception, bar staff, wait staff, concierge, managers, Maria the Yoga/Pilates instructor, etc. It didn't matter what the role of the staff member was, every single one of them were kind, courteous, warm, welcoming and extremely helpful. Throughout my stay, every staff member I encountered went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. One particular note of appreciation goes to Christina and her staff at the Island Buffet Restaurant: Dora, Nikos, Vassiliki, especially, who went above and beyond to ensure we were well looked after.

I stayed in one of the Zen rooms that had a private pool and unfortunately, since we did not have the best weather in Elounda during my stay and it was windy quite often, I could not make use of the pool as often as I liked as it is NOT heated. Bear this in mind when booking this type of room and also note that being so high up, the water is a magnet for bugs and during an 8 day stay, the pool was cleaned once. This should be a daily thing for the cost of that room; this should really be looked at by hotel management as I would not spend that kind of money again for this kind of room given these two faulty points.

My recent stay at Domes Aulus Elounda Hotel was absolutely incredible. The staff, especially Despina from the reception, went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. The suite with a shared pool offered a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean Sea, and the luxurious amenities made us feel like royalty. The exceptional food and hospitality throughout our stay made us feel pampered and truly special. I highly recommend Domes Aulus Elounda Hotel to anyone seeking a luxurious and memorable getaway.

My only recommendation is to order in advance places in the restaurants so you can enjoy all the options.

I don’t think we’d have stayed if we didn’t have cool living, sun beds were always taken and service on food and drink was awful! very understaffed which is a shame.

The breakfast choice was very good and the quality was excellent. There was plenty of room in the restaurants and the staff in all areas were very good. Our nest room was a good size and comfortable.

The meze restaurant needed to be booked and was more formal than we felt it should be. There were charges made for premium drinks, such as Jim Beam and Tanquery gin. We have stayed in a few All inclusive resorts and these brands were included and not classed as premium. There were no classic Greek dishes served such as kleftiko which was disappointing. The air conditioning units did not work well and this seemed to be a general problem.

We had a brilliant stay in August 2022 for our honeymoon. As part of our honeymoon we had a spa treatment, a bottle of wine in our room, a fruits basket breakfast in bed and flowers all over the bed and room. All of those was complimentary and we were thoroughly appreciative of these extras. On arrival (2am) we were provided with a welcome drink and driven a very short distance to our room which was a nice thought as we had been delayed by 4 hours. In our room they had provided some food which was a nice touch as the restaurants were closed. Our room (No. 123) was recently renovated with a very comfy bed and a range of pillows. The shower and bathroom were of good quality. The room also has a nespresso machine. We had access to a shared pool which was handy and the walk to the restaurant/reception was 1 min. Facilities are really good, the spa was really good and I’d highly recommend getting a treatment. They took time to understand our needs and gave a great massage. We had a pool outside of our room which was an added bonus. The sunbeds by the main pool and beach were plentiful and there was no horrible rush or people chucking on towels. We used the gym 4 times and it had an okay range of equipment, all brand new with water and a changing room. Service throughout the hotel was generally really good. Everyone was polite and said hello. The hotel manager was very visible, would say hello at meal times and accommodate and special requests. The only let down was the Amphiteátro restaurant where they seem to have the most staff but were either sat on their phones or chatting instead, while many people were waiting to be served drinks. This was a stark contrast to the other restaurants and bars especially the beach bar where Panos and Maria provided amazing service. Nothing was a problem, drinks bought to your sunbeds, they go around with snacks and fruit and every day they were happy and welcoming.

As newlyweds we were looking for a place in Greece to relax and do absolutely nothing in a comfy room by the sea. We couldn’t have made a better choice! Great room with private pool and amazing view of the sunrise, truly excellent staff (always ready to help with a smile) and really good food. All in all probably the best value for money hotel I’ve ever been to. Everything was included (even proper cocktails), fine wine, private beach, two pools (plus a small one in our room), gym with new equipment, room service. There was no need for us to visit the beautiful village (already visited in prior years) as we could just call the very friendly staff who would get us anything at our door! Reality better than expectations!

it happens that guests occupy sunbeds without being present for hours. it should be forbidden or to be increased availability of sunbeds at the beach

We liked everything about Domes Aulus Elounda. Our room was spacious and modern, the bed was huge and extremely comfortable, the a-c was unobtrusive and the view was incredible. The all-inclusive elements are managed with care and we particularly enjoyed the Cretan specialties that were always part of the buffet. We also ate in the grill restaurant and the sushi restaurant so there are multiple options for dinner, which we really enjoyed. We went to the beach every day and loved the beach bar with really tasty sandwiches and salads that you can just help yourself too. Beyond the practical, what we really appreciated was the atmosphere of genuine care the hotel staff worked really hard to create. Their hospitality was really outstanding. No request was too much trouble and we felt really looked after. Examples include Nikos at the beach bar who works really hard to create interesting Greek cocktails for the guests and who chats with genuine interest to the guests and Zoe in reception who always responded incredibly cheerfully to our questions and organized a late check out for us with no fuss at all. We are already planning a return trip! It was exceptional.

it’s beautiful in a relaxed gorgeous part of Crete. the outdoor dining was beautiful and convenient. The room was immaculate and well equipped. And the Domes beach, while not sand, is lovely and quiet and offered heavenly swimming. overall the best - and the best managed - property where we have ever stayed!

The staff were excellent throughout - friendly, efficient, helpful. Beach bar was delightful! Great place for a relaxing stay without having to make any decisions other than when to book a meal outside of the main restaurant and what cocktail to try next!

The food was generally of a high standard and the opportunity to sit and eat in places other than the main buffet added variety. One point for vegetarians to note is that the selection is limited beyond the excellent salads and veg. There are many options of meat and fish to have with these for those who eat meat, but few veggie mains with pulses, lentils etc
