Breakfast was good - occasionally a bit too much cheese for a non-cheese eater! Staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. They helped us get two ground floor rooms so that we were close to the children in their own room. Great suggestions for when to go to Chania to avoid cruise ship timing, suggested where to eat, checked bus times, ordered taxis…. Evening meals were delicious and good value. Easy walk to beach and town for other restaurants.

Shower curtains are a pretty poor design! A cushion for the outdoor seating would be good. To describe as didn’t like is harsh though… just minor improvements!

All the staff is super friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The room we had was spacious and quiet with a large balcony with a great sea view. We enjoyed watching the sunsets from there (it would set behind a hill). It also has a drying rack on the wall to dry towels or bathing suits. We came by rented car and it was easy to park (small car) at the hotel. Being right next to the road into the village or towards the nearby main road meant you were always quickly on your way to wherever you wanted to go. Our room was fully quiet though – apart from the powerful AC keeping us cool – we never had any road noises. You can also walk down to the village and beach, which will only take you up to 5-10 minutes or so. Chania city is ~half hour drive away. Heraklion and Knossos ~2 hours drive. The room has a small kitchenette with a fridge so we always had cold drinks available. There is a decently sized pool, not super large, but large enough, and very deep (2,40m). The hotel provides loungers with parasols around the pool. During the day you can get drinks and food from the pool bar and in the evening from the upper restaurant with sea views. The food is nicely done and very tasty – it could easily compete with some of the local restaurants in quality. Breakfast is served on the pool bar each morning, and well, space is limited. I think they make optimal use of the space providing a mix of options and we always thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast, but it may not have everything you expect. I would very much recommend this hotel to people wanting to stay in this area.

Nothing much we didn't like. The shower was quite old and outdated and was a bit of a hassle. The bathroom was large and we just used it as a wet room so it wasn't a real issue for us – we made do just fine. In the dry heat everything dried really quickly. We were told the bathroom/shower would be upgraded in the near future. Hot water could also be a wait sometimes depending on the time of day you wanted to shower. Since it was always around 30ºC even if you started with cold-ish water (water never really got cold) it was fine.

Lovely pool,cold but refreshing and clean.Air conditioning and safe in room in with price.All the staff were friendly and helpful.Special mention to Constantine who worked tirelessly in reception and around the pool with breakfast and drinks. The breakfast was help yourself to toast ,cereals ,cheese,ham.tomatoes,bacon , eggs and various cakes . Very happy with the apartment and comfortable bed. 10 min walk to village and beach .

All the staff were outstanding in their approach to service and we felt valued staying at the property. Any requests were handled and dealt with straight away. Breakfasts were buffet style and a wide enough range for everyone, freshly cooked and delicious! The onsite restaurant has a spectacular view and the food amazing, with a good choice. Sea view room had a great view of Souda Bay and the mountains. Rooms were clean and the grounds were very well looked after and tidied on a regular basis. Wonderful staff!!!

Great location close to the beach (just a 7min walk down the hill) and restaurants of Kalives. Only a 25min drive into the old town of Chania, and super easy to hop on the highway to get to other destinations around western Crete. Room was basic, but clean. Wonderful view of the Mediterranean from the north facing balcony. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and always made us feel welcome and at home.

Rooms and décor are a bit dated and could use a refresh. Bathroom floor constantly got wet due to the awkward shower curtain arrangement. Offering extra towels for use at the beach and at the pool would have been nice too.

The warm welcome from all the staff the minute you arrive makes you feel relaxed the minute you walk into Sunrise Suites nothing is to much trouble The apartments are extremely comfortable and clean as well as the whole complex The view from the balcony over the pool and beyond to the sea was wonderful The swimming pool is very clean and has a pool bar serving lovely food & drinks The complex boasts a wonderful panoramic restaurant serving excellent food with spectacular views over the bay Would we stay here again absolutely 100%

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, with a beautiful view of the sea. The white towels provided were soft and fresh, and the daily housekeeping service kept the room spotless. The staff were friendly and always ready to help. The hotel's location was very convenient. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely stay there again.

Everything was great. As a suggestion, it would be nice to have a bottle of water in the room upon check-in. In hot weather, this would be very helpful.

Very nice and friendly staff. Rooms are big enough for family. Both rooms are on different floors, so adults are separated from children ;) The hotel has a restaurant and when you have no ideas about dinner, you can choose this restaurant - the menu is OK. Bar service in pool area. Free parking and wifi.

For people with poor sleep (like us) it's quite noisy- hotel is located near main road and lot of late drivers (especially- bikers), really disturbed our sleep. Breakfast very simple and repeating. Offered filtered coffee in breakfast not tasty. Option to get good coffee from coffee machine only for extra money. Bathroom to dark - lightenings only near mirror and it's to week to enlighten all bathroom area.

I really loved our stay at Sunrise Suites. The apartments are immaculately clean and well maintained. The staff could not have been more helpful. Everyone always greeted us with a smile and took a lot of interest in what we were doing and what we needed. Nothing was out of their way, always helpful! The poolside area was wonderful and the whole place has a cosy feel. The view of the village and the sea are incredible.

We stayed there on the last week of the season and they had closed the restaurant in the evening but the breakfasts were great and we could drinks and snacks all day.

Staff is very nice, the restaurant and food was good and we liked the pool. They cleaned our room and changed towels often. They try each day to change some part of the breakfast offerings

The rooms are ok but not modern. The clothing iron is given upon request. The location is a 10 minutes walk from the sea and you need flashlights when returning home at night. The tv in the room was not smart.
