The location is simply breathtaking – a small traditional Greek taverna set in a quiet, spectacular bay. The views from the terrace, directly overlooking the sea, or while enjoying breakfast or dinner by the water, felt almost surreal. It is something incredibly rare to find nowadays, especially in the midst of mass tourism. Even though we visited in peak August, the atmosphere remained peaceful and authentic, waking up with nothing but the sound and scent of the sea, in absolute silence and relaxation. Loutro, the main village, is literally just around the corner, easily reachable in minutes with the very convenient taxi-boat service. That’s why I would highly recommend staying here if you want to explore Loutro: you can enjoy its charm during the day, but retreat to the tranquility of this bay afterwards. Another big advantage is that you can reach the property directly by car and safely leave it in their private parking. This is a huge plus compared to Loutro, which can only be accessed by ferry, meaning you would otherwise need to leave your car at the port.

If I really had to point out one small downside, it would be that the bathrooms could use some renovation, as they are quite old and worn. For the rest, everything was just perfect.

We have stayed here before and decided to choose it this year as part of our honeymoon! We thought the hotel was beautifully peaceful and the two guys running it were so lovely and hospitable. The views are incredible and the rooms are simple but comfortable. Lovely little family run business.

We were told that the hotel was accessible by road. We previously accessed it by ferry to Loutro and the taxi boat. The road was absolutely terrifying, even for those of us who have driven plenty on Cretan roads! It was really steep and twisty with no real passing places. Never again!

Pavlos and the staff were super welcoming, food and drinks also great, rooms were basic but comfortable, aircon worked perfectly. Area was very pretty with a couple more food options walking distance. Water taxi service at its doorstep was a great bonus, very easy to go spend the day in Loutro or Marmara.

Nothing to the Taverna’s fault but it’s good to know that the road to get to the taverna is really steep with no barriers. It was paved recently which was a huge help but even then is not an easy drive. The option to include breakfast in the room rate would be good.

Excellent location, very peaceful, fantastic for walking. Loutro was, for many years, a great getaway for it all but has now become a bit of a village theme park. Lykos still has some authenticity about it: lots of goats and very little going on.

This is really unfair but; the food was good but not great. I say unfair as we were out of season and the menu was very limited, which is understandable. The Taberna Nextdoor was no better, but the food in the little place 100 m to the west was excellent and cheap.

If you are looking for complete relaxation away from the madness of life this is your place. Accessible by boat only this gorgeous, humble little Taverna offers peace and serenity. The rooms are clean, simple with comfortable beds but the location, view and the sound of the waves lapping against the shore are 5 star! There is really something very energetically special about this part of the world. This has been family run for 30 years and they could not be more generous with their hospitality. You can understand why they have so much repeat business. So if you are looking to completely check out of the rat race for a while, exercise, sleep, read, eat homemade nourishing food and recharge, this could be the place for you. I extended my stay...

Our stay at Lykos was truly exceptional, thanks to the warm and friendly hospitality of the hosts. They went above and beyond to ensure we had an unforgettable experience. The hotel is tucked away in a peaceful location, just a short boat ride from Loutro, which has its own unique charm. We spent three blissful days swimming, reading, dining at the lovely restaurant, and stargazing under the serene night sky. It was the perfect place to unwind in one of the most tranquil settings we've ever had the pleasure of visiting. A huge thank you to Pavlos, Hussein, and the wonderful women who worked quietly behind the scenes, making our stay unforgettable.

We loved everything about the property.

The room was very nice, with a ground floor terrace. It was also very clean. The hotel had a good atmosphere - with an excellent restaurant.

It goes with the location and as such it is not the hotel's fault, but it is a rather long drive up and down the mountain from Chora Sfakion. The hotel is very clear about this on booking.com, so we were prepared for this. The hotel is perhaps best accessed by one of the ferry boats that go up and down the coast from Chora Sfakion.

Stayed one night and really regretted not staying a bit longer. Beautiful and calm location on the beach. Modern, clean and comfortable room. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel & everything was really good. One can access the hotel by a boat (the owner proposes to hop on his boat from Loutro or you can take a taxi boat-about 30€ ). It's about 40 min walk from Loutro (it was more of a mini hike rather than a stroll). You can also reach the location by car, keep in mind that it is a narrow mountain road (although in a good state), wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is scared of heights and doesn't like winding roads.

A peaceful location close to Loutro, fully self-sufficient. We arrived by car via an amazing drive. The host is most welcoming and caring. Food is varied and excellent the sea is beautiful for swimming and a ferry boat berths in front to take you to other beaches/towns if you wish. Clean and comfortable basic accommodation. Perfect for retreating from hussel and brussel for a few days. I highly recommend this place.

The location is absolutely beautiful. The view on the sea is absolutely breathtaking. The owner can come get you by boat in Loutro if he's free, but if not, the walk along the coast is quite manageable (if you avoid the hot hours of the day). The food is very good, as it's a family owned place. The atmosphere is relaxed, warm, and congenial. I definitely recommend staying there!

The bed was a bit hard, but I've had hip surgery so I'm extra sensitive. I still slept well there!
