The view was stunning from our room overlooking the caldera. Exceptionally clean. Staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful. They organised our taxi from and to airport and this was all arranged and made the journey stress free. Wine and fruit in our room on arrival. Breakfast was served to our room every day and this was a very high standard and deliciously fresh. The hotel is right on the path from Fira to Oia and we walked to both which was a beautiful hike. Not too strenuous at all. Lots of restaurants within a few mins walk in the village. However it was expensive. Wine started at 35-40euros in most. But we realised after a day or so that the house wines were available and a much better price and are hidden in the menus!

As we went in May at beginning of season the restaurant and bar were not open. However we did overhear people asking for drinks and these were duly served. It’s up high so was quite windy on some days.

I’m not the kind of person who usually leaves reviews, but I just had to this time. This hotel is simply exceptional a hidden gem, a peaceful paradise with the most stunning view I’ve ever witnessed. And that says a lot, as I’ve stayed in hotels all over the world. On top of that, the kindness and warmth of the staff made the experience even more unforgettable. Next time, I won’t be coming for Santorini I’ll be coming for this hotel. I’ll definitely book the Avaton Suite again, just to relive that exceptional view.

I hate writing reviews, but this hotel deserves my time! This hotel in Santorini exceeded all expectations—every detail, from the warm welcome to the flawless service, was perfection. The in-room breakfast was a delicious highlight, with fresh, local ingredients and breathtaking views to match. Waking up to the sweeping caldera vistas felt like living inside a dream, which continued as we spent the morning by the beautiful pool. The location is wonderful - away from the hustle and bustle, but directly on a short-path to Thira. We will be back, and I intend on taking advantage of the longer path that leads directly to Oia.

Absolutely nothing.

We had a really nice stay at this resort. Loved the hospitality of the staff, all of the explanations about the island and all the sugestions for us to have a nice vacation. It’s a 4 minutes walk from a parking spot, very few stairs, so you don’t have to worry about that. It’s almost at the end of Imerovigli, in a pretty quiet area. Even though “Fira to Oia Walk” road passes right in front of the resort, it actually didn’t bother us too much. (We did the walk to Oia and to Skaros Rock and this road passes in front of a lot of resorts. When you stay in Santorini in front of the caldera it is hard to have privacy haha). The view from the resort is just stunning, you can see all the way to Oia. It is a bit windy up there, but it’s perfect during a hot day. Breakfast is tasty, you can also order food and cocktails. The room we had was nice, not too big but enough for us, we had complimentary bottles of water, fruits and a local wine. We used the inside spa once, very cozy and intimate (you just have to book it 30 minutes in advance). Overall i would totally recommend this resort for the view and the friendliness of the staff

The bathroom had a glass door. I get that it’s romantic, but a bit unconvenient when you use it as it is not very soundproof haha. Also the lighting could be better in the bathroom. When it comes to breakfast, you have to choose a specific hour when you want to eat and this is not someting we enjoyed, we don’t have a routine and we don’t like a fixed schedule when we are on vacation.

We absolutely loved the Avaton Resort and Spa. It gave us a real 5 star experience from the moment we arrived to the moment we departed. The fixtures and fittings in the room were of a very high standard and the view was absolutely breath taking. The staff could not do enough for us. The breakfast was also stunning!

There is nothing not to like about this hotel. We will definitely be returning next year. We might even stay a little longer next time.

The views were spectacular. The hotel was located in a quiet outcove by the mountainside. Very serene. The few staff there were very polite and accommodating. I had a great experience.

I wish area around me was better for transporting as the taxis and bus were a bit of walk to get to. not a big deal but with time it became encumbersome.

The staff is AMAZING and it seems like there are there instantly when you need anything. The breakfast was included and was excellent. Breakfast is brought to the room every morning at whichever time you choose. It is directly on the famous path from capital to Oia which is very convenient and beautiful. Was able to park my rented 4-wheeler in the square just down the footpath with no issues. Surrounding food options were top notch. The spa amenities (steam room, hot tub, cold plunge, sauna) were able to be utilized with no additional fee, assuming no treatments. It is located at the highest elevation on the cauldron so it can get windy but the views are worth it. Avaton Suit was worth every penny. My wife and I loved our stay and are very thankful for the hardworking, trustworthy, friendly staff. LOVED IT!!!

Beautiful location set away from the hustle and the bustle. Every morning breakfast was served to our bedroom, outside on the terrace, if weather permitting. The view was absolutely exceptional of the caldera. Walking distance to nice restaurants in Imerovigli, easy to get to other areas of the island from this area as well. The staff was welcoming and had recommendations for dinner and activities. We had an amazing stay at Avaton, and hope to be back!

Wonderful location and views from the hotel were second to none. Staff was great and breakfasts were excellent. The Avaton is a destination hotel and we will definitely stay there again.

The pool could have been warmer. We didn't use it because it was so cold although the days were in the 80's when we stayed there in early October.

Avaton is a very beautiful and well-kept building overlooking the caldera. The room is spacious and very clean and directly overlooks the swimming pool. It was a regenerating stay! A special thank you to all the staff: all very kind and helpful!
