Having the beach at your doorstep while staying at Golden Star makes this hotel a wonderfully relaxing experience. With an absolutely fabulous restaurant serving food by the waterfront, there really is no reason to leave the hotel grounds during your stay. The food we experienced during our stay, both for lunches and dinners, was absolutely top-quality with a vast array of choices from perfectly-cooked traditional Greek dishes to bar snacks and fast-food. Something for everyone. The breakfast buffet offered lots of choice with cooked items, pastries, fruits and coffee options. The hotel staff are friendly and hard-working (a special mention to Anna who waited on our table in the evenings, she was always polite and helpful).

we stayed in the one bedroom and living room apartment, which was great for us, the room was clean, bed was comfortable, small but handy kitchen (with a dish washer and a coffee machine!) and great terrace with jacuzzi and sunset view . The room was awesome, a weird design with glass window to the shower but o guess that’s to see the view while showering. The staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was ok, not the best in my opinion but the kids found something to eat. Location wise this resort is far from central Thessaloniki and so every taxi was expensive, if you’re traveling with kids or want to be in the center it’s better to take a closer hotel or rent a car, minimum for a taxi was 25€ for one way!. All in all our room was great

we had a great experience at Golden Star Hotel. The staff were welcoming and helpful, making us feel right at home. Our suite was clean, stylish, and very comfortable, with a beautiful sea view that made the stay even more special. Breakfast was fresh and varied, and enjoyed it. The location is right by the beach and just a short drive from Thessaloniki’s centre. Overall, a perfect mix of comfort, great service, and stunning views. Highly recommend!

the ocean water was cold, so it would have been nice to have a swimming pool in the hotel. but we knew there isnt

Location, size and comfort level of room, excellent breakfast, staff attitude, beach and facilities (bar/restaurant, sunbeds), toiletries in bathroom, aircon in room. They were able to check us in early (11:30) and packed us breakfast on our last day on request because of early check out due to our flight.

Just a suggestion: mosquito nets on the balcony door would probably be appreciated by many. Also, the sunbed-system was not easy to understand first (some require minimum consumption while others are free) - maybe put some info on this in the rooms as not all staff speaks good English and we were a bit confused at first.

Great location, waterfront. Breakfast was great. Bed was very comfortable. I've stayed here a few times.

Unfortunately sometimes one staff member's behavior has an impact on the whole experience . Although I've stayed here before I did not encounter such behavior previously. I am not going to go into the issue because that is one person's ignorance and that should not be the only reason to dismiss a business. But it is the reason for not giving an excellent rating. Every staff member in a business is representing the brand of the business, not just themselves and that should never be taken lightly. Customer Service is a must it's survival of the fittest.

Perfect stay. As seen in photos, the hotel is on the beach, very near to the pier where the sea buses for Salonic are stopping.  It was very clean , with rooms daily serviced, cosmetics of very good quality and a powerful air conditioning. The breakfast is amazing. It is ment to satisfy all kind of guests: europeans, americans or british. Very rich in products and choices.The hotel has also a good resturant with gourmet cuisine at good prices and a great selection of greek wines of top quality. The bar serves various cocktails and many kind of coffee. The personnel is very atentive, present each time you would need anything and always very kind. On the private beach the sun bed are free and enough for all clients; beach towels are practically free( 10 euro guarantee fully refundable ) It is a very well managed hotel, convenient situated at only 20 minutes from the airport . It suites for both a " get tan"  vacation or to discover the beautiful town of Thessaloniki which is not far by bud, car, bus or sea bus.

Everything is perfect.

The sea was right in front of us, the bed was huge and comfortable and offered a pillow menu and the breakfast buffet offered some nice local specialties. The bathroom products were of good quality and were also offered on sale. The staff was welcoming and friendly. Overall good experience and I recommend the property.

The ventilation or drainage in the bathroom didn't work well and there was a constant unpleasant smell. The room cleaning started relatively early and was quite noisy so we were woken up earlier than intended. Parking space in the garage was limited and already full when we arrived and public parking nearby was also scarce. Given the low season, we found the property a bit overpriced.

- Perfectly located on the beachfront, 2 minutes walk to the square, shops, restaurants, and the harbor, - Access to sunbeds and beach towels included in the price, - Very helpful staff, - Excellent breakfast with good variety of food, - Good food in the hotel's restaurant on the beach.

- The position of my room: we were just across the elevator door, so it was becoming loud very early in the morning until late at night, - The positioning of the air condition unit in the room: it blows directly in your head as you sleep, and it is impossible to sleep without the AC on, - The loudness of the AC, - The sound isolation in the rooms is not very good, - There was housekeeping daily, but it was not up to standards.

Our stay was perfect. Greek hospitality and very good service are very hard to beat. Specifically, the Golden Star is a hotel right on the beach, and in everything you do you are constantly connected to the sea. Excellent hotel services!

The alternation of breakfast could be improved. Even if the buffet is very diverse, some salads or small dishes could be changed from day to day. Very good breakfast, but we had 4 consecutive days the same breakfast choices. If we stay 2 weeks we would very much like to have this alternation. Thanks and good luck in the future, Golden Star! Hotel is located right on the beach, sunbeds are included. Nice beach bar. Very good breakfast, lots of options, restaurant is very clean, great views from the restaurant and terrace to the sea, nice music during breakfast, atmosphere, nice music during the day, on the terrace, as well. Not to loud, lounge atmosphere. Hotel is very clean, well maintained, rooms a cleaned-up every day, cleaning ladies are very nice. Beds are big, there are more pillows options if the ones offered do not suit you. A plus for us were the blackout drapes. Personnel is very welcoming, well trained, helpful. Perea is not very big, there are lots of restaurant options on the beach promenade. The hotel is located at the end of the promenade, so close to everything and at the same time quieter. The beach is not big, but nice, sandy and water is not deep at all, perfect for kids. It can be crowded during weekends, but during weekdays it was perfect. Very good options for families with kids, because it is very convenient and the hotel staff made our group feel welcome. Hotel offers also massage services with good prices. Unfortunately, we only got the offer on the last day of the stay and we did not use the service. Really enjoyed our stay here and we will be back.

Air conditioning uses a water cooling system and can be a bit noisy at night, but not a major inconvenient. A small changing room would be a great addition to the hotel facilities, in case you just use the beach or check out later.
