My husband and I really appreciated the owners. They were kind and on top of everything. They truly cared about making sure our stay was great. . LOVED not having the crowds because Mare Nostrum Santo was located outside of OIA. You can take the back road to the airport and stay away from the crazy traffic. Also, their breakfast was fantastic.. What a buffet! Great variety. We looked forward to it every morning. The pool area was kept super clean. Water was refreshing in Mid May. The owner makes a great Mojoto at the pool bar.

What I didn't like was having a loft bed with a bathroom downstairs. Being in our 60's, climbing up and down the ladder was a bit much.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Mare Nostrum Santo! From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The location is peaceful and away from the crowds, yet close enough to easily explore all parts of the island with a rental car. The view from the hotel is simply breathtaking—sunsets, the sea, and the beautiful landscape of Santorini all in one. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay, always ready to assist with a smile. They made us feel truly welcome. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety of fresh items served in a scenic outdoor setting. We also appreciated the on-site parking, which made traveling around the island very convenient. This hotel was a peaceful retreat after busy days of sightseeing, and we would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a calm, clean, and scenic place to stay in Santorini. We left with beautiful memories and hope to return again!

the property was in a quiet, beautiful location with a gorgeous view of the ocean, The hosts Violet and Yanni could not has been nicer. They were helpful, courteous, kind and informative. we are traveling for the month of June and by the time we arrived we needed to do laundry. They provide a laundry service for us at a very reasonable price. The breakfast provided each morning had a lot of variety and the coffee was delicious! we enjoyed staying here also because the busy cities of Fira and Oia were beautiful but very crowded.Yanni drove us anywhere we wanted to go and also picked us up at night for 10 Euros! we had lunch and dinner there and the food was very good from their snack bar. Violet us use the hot tub for free when we came back from a busy day! They also had a massage room if you wanted one, Violet would call to provide one! our room was cleaned daily and so much was provided in the room! The bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, body gel, toothbrushes,toothpaste, razor kit, slippers, nice towels and really anything you could possibly need, They also provided a hat and apron for your souvenir from this amazing place! You can have dinner on the roof and watch the sunset, which we did our last night there and it was remarkable! They have all kinds of very good wine and a nice variety of alcohol at their pool bar!Dimitri, who is employed here was also extremely nice and helpful! I only have positive things to say about Mare Nostrum and wish it wasn’t so far from Florida, our home so that I could return often! Thank you for a fabulous time and of course the thoughtful beautiful earrings that Violet bought for me when we were leaving because we chatted about how much we loved earrings❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Overall the communication with Violet. She is incredible, as is the rest of the team. They will go above and beyond to make your stay as relaxed as it can be. They will provide transport to and from areas around the island, make recommendations for tours or places to eat. Anything you can, of course realistically, ask them, they will respond to with a great smile and equally satisfying reply. We wish we could have stayed for a longer period of time, but unfortunately that did not fit our itinerary.

The owners and the entire staff of the property are very kind and friendly. It's a very pleasant hotel in a peaceful setting with beautiful views, not only of the garden but also of the sea, featuring a nice pool. The beach is very close to the hotel. Additionally, it's an ideal starting point for excursions. I recommend taking the Thirasia and hot springs tour, which can be purchased at the hotel — pickup and return to the hotel were seamless. I also suggest using the hotel's taxi service; the driver is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very transparent about the prices of additional services, which is a significant advantage. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel for a family vacation.

Everything about Mare Nostrum Santo is fabulous! It is a small family run hotel just on the edge of Oia. Violet and Giannis are wonderful hosts and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. They offer a good breakfast, a beautiful pool, and a very affordable car service to and from Oia and the airport. Also, you can get an uninterrupted view of the beautiful Santorini sunset from the rooftop without the crowds of people. I would not hesitate to stay here again Thank you, Violet and Giannis, for making our stay in Santorini so memorable.

Violet and her team were beyond fantastic, they helped organise our trip, providing the best times to visit during tourist areas and gave us all the information needed on the cheapest way to get around and explore. Highly recommend staying here. It was perfect for us as we wanted to be close to Oia town, but given how busy it is, we wanted more privacy and quiet, which is exactly what Mare Nostrum provided. It is less than a 5 minute drive into Oia town, otherwise a 30-minute walk and there is a bus stop right out front. The pools were fantastic, though the hotel was booked out, we still managed to have the pool to ourselves, and the beach is right out front. The buffet breakfast was fresh and yummy, and we had amazing Gyros for dinner there. We cant wait to come back, thank you for having us Violet.

We stayed here for 5 days, and it was truly an exceptional experience. Violet, the owner, was incredibly kind and accommodating, even going the extra mile to arrange both boat and bus tours for us. Yanis, a real gem, took care of all our transfers around Santorini and was always available to assist us with a smile. The staff were wonderful—cleaning was done daily, and fresh towels were provided regularly. The breakfast team was also very friendly, and you could easily order lunch or dinner at a very reasonable price. We loved the private jacuzzi hot tub, offering a relaxing and secluded retreat. The hotel’s price is much more affordable compared to the center, and the location is fantastic, allowing you to enjoy your own private sunset view right in front of the property. I highly recommend this place—it’s an unforgettable stay!

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and outstanding service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every detail of our stay was perfect. The rooms were comfortable, clean and cozy and the amenities exceeded our expectations. Whether relaxing by the pool or exploring the area, we felt well taken care of throughout. The entire property was well-maintained. Delicious breakfast! The highlight of our trip was the breathtaking sunsets. We enjoyed the most stunning view right from the Mare Nostrum Sunset —truly a magical experience! The location very close to Oia but without The noise and crowds of people of the city, 1 min away from the beach.The facilities, great swimming pool, very nice breakfast and the apartment was really nice and cozy. Violet the owner was into all the details to make our stay comfortable. If you do not have a car, Giannis the hotel driver is the best option for you. Always punctual, willing to help and with a big smile in his face. I would highly recommend it!!
