The hotel was utterly clean,the staff was very helpful and kind. I am a very bad sleeper but the room was really quiet (I was afraid that the airplane noises were going to be disturbing, but absolutely nothing could be heard), the bed was very comfortable and all in all the room was well equipped. There is a nice bar by the pool where you can have some snacks and drinks which was also great. The beach is very close, a 7min walk approx., and there is a bus stop literally in front of the hotel for a direct bus to Fira. And the ultimate plus is that you can use the hotel amenities (pool, restrooms, shower) even after checking out, so if you have a late flight, you can chill there as long as you like. Altogether, I really recommend staying at this hotel.

Rooms very nice, modern furniture, very, very clean!! They cleaned the rooms daily, changed the towels and sheets. Great pool and bar, sunbeds available for everyone. Very good location, 5-10 min walk to the beach, tavernas and shops.

The breakfast is really poor..Im not picky, but it needs improvement, more choices. Coffee was decent. If u book a room with a view at the pool, it will be a little noisy at nights, from the traffic or ppl chatting at the pool.

I liked the location of the hotel…10minutes drive from the airport and about 10-15minutes (depending on how fast you walk) from the beach front. Staff was super friendly; from receptionists to cleaners and kitchen staff. Our room was nicely tidied up every morning and breakfast food was super yummy. You could find there various continental food from sweet to savoury and some nice greek food too. Plus fresh veg and fruits too. Pool side was always nice and clean and the pool/bar manager always kept it in order. Pool water was on a colder side (which I didnt mind considering mid October stay) but nice and clean. There are plenty of information at the reception regarding buses to Fira/Oia, local attractions and excursions and reception ladies were always happy to provide more info if needed or unsure. If I go to Santorini again I will stay at this hotel. It definitely had a family feel ☺️ Thank you for making our stay more relaxed and stress free 🙏🏻

Its more to be mindful that location of the hotel is in close proximity of the airport so dont be surprised to see airplanes flying low or/and be noisy…my mum and I we didnt mind it…actually we were mesmerised by each plane landing 😅☺️

Me and my teenage daughter loved the Pool, and how close everything was to get to. Walking distance to the beach, little shops and places to eat. All the Makarios Hotel Staff where very friendly, we've always been looked after. Our rooms where cleaned daily. On our last day, waiting for our cab to pick us up, we've got offered 2 cold bottles of water to take with us to the airport, as it was so hot that day. We only shared one between us to keep us hydrated. All i can say friendly Staff, very thoughtful and caring. Thank you for looking after us, we had a great Holiday 👌🏼😊

There is not a single thing, I could think of what I didn't like. Everything was just so nice.

Me and my daughter stayed for a week at Makarios Hotel. Is was such a nice stay. Our room was very big and very clean. (Rooms were cleaned everyday. - Same for the pool area). I have never slept so well being away from home. The beds were perfect. Busstop is right outside of the hotel, so it is easy to get around.

There wasn’t much to see in the nearby area. But it only took 8 minutes to walk to the beach promenade and the streets with shops and restaurants. The hotel is nearby the airport, so there is some noise from the planes, but it honestly didn’t bother us. As days went by, we didn’t even noticed the planes.

Cozy hotel, with a family atmosphere, very good service and super clean with a view of the landing planes. Importantly, the staff is smiling - you can feel that they like each other. The beds are very comfortable, the towels are soft, the pool is very clean. Rooms cleaned very well every day. Good location, close to Kamari. I highly recommend it! We felt very good there 🩵

Minus for scrambled eggs for breakfast - in my opinion it was made from powder, not eggs. Poorly placed electrical outlets and few. Thanks to reading reviews we took an extension cord with us. 😅

Our stay at Makarios was absolutely amazing. The location, the room and the breakfast was really nice. We visited Fira & Oia and to be honest we were happy we picked a hotel in Kamari. It’s also close to the beach, restaurants and grocery store. We recommend it to every traveler on a budget yet still want value for their money. Thank you for a wonderful time. Pat & Chris

We really didn’t have much to complain. Do keep in mind that you can’t charge items when you’re not in the room since you need the key for electricity. We simply charged over night which worked for us.

Nice and helpful staff, happy to give advice at any time, modern and large enough room with a balcony with a seating area, nice bathroom with a quality rain shower, refrigerator and toiletries available, sufficient number of sockets even for several devices at the same time, enough storage space. Tasty buffet breakfast, large enough pool for swimming, during the day there is an open pool bar. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available by the pool, and together with the hotel's beautiful grounds with palm trees and mediterranean vegetation will allow comfortably relaxing all afternoon. Although the hotel is right next to the road, it is situated in a quiet countryside, so it has enough free parking spaces, either private in front of the hotel or large-capacity public parking right behind the road.

The hotel is in the Kamari area, the beach is about 900 meters away, so it is advisable to have your own transport. The evening seems quite far from the busy life. A local tax of €3 per night must be paid on site, and the hotel charges a deposit of €10 for pool towels. The international airport is only a few hundred meters away. That's why you see planes landing several times a day. They are surprisingly not noisy and it feels interesting rather than disturbing. I personally took some nice shots of them.

We absolutely loved this Hotel. Loved having a relaxing area to sleep in. Felt safe, the breakfast buffet was delicious. Beds are super comfortable. It is very clean and well kept. Very nice pool too . Less than a mile walk from Kamari town . The shops in Kamari had the best prices I saw in comparison to Thira and Oia. Bus stop is about 1/2 mile to visit other cities for 2$ per person. So, for us, excellent location and a fantastic price. It was exactly what we were looking forward to. Perfect for our budget and vacation plans.
