This hotel is an absolute gem. They really do go above and beyond to look after you. Although it may be a 3 star facility - their service is truly 5 star. Chrisoula is the hostess with the mostess! She is such a caring, gracious and lovely person who is always on hand to deliver that impeccable hospitality. Chrisoula made travel arrangements for us on multiple occasions and again, this was a fantastic service. The hotel has some of the best food I've had in Kos. What makes it even better is the truly great value for money they offer whilst also growing most of the ingredients that they use in their cuisine. They even make their own olive oil! Which is truly a delight. The cocktails are fantastic - I had some strawberry dacquiris which were absolutely delicious. Fresh crushed strawberries with ice and a generous dose of booze. So tasty - highly recommended. The accommodation offered fantastic value for money - two bedroom apartment with a beautiful balcony - which is huge; great for a family. We were very happy there and used it as a base for our holiday. The hotel is in a quiet but central Tigaki location with lots of lovely tavernas in close proximity. Sagittarius, Alikes, and Plori to name but a few favourite eateries. The pool is a generous sized and the pool area offers lots of relaxation space. When we were there it was fully booked and it was never crowded. Really spacious and clean, two warm pools with a slide for the kids and a bigger pool for those that can swim. Most of all I want to really compliment the Golden Sun on their warm family atmosphere. It felt like a home from home and made our family feel so welcome. My children even made friends with a local resident (little Angel girl called Mikaela) and we were all so sad to leave them. They made us feel like part of the family whilst there & it is honestly such a special place. This is the second time I've been - last time was for a week and this time was for two weeks. Next time 3?

That we couldn't stay longer!

Golden Sun has, in our opinion, a way lower rating than it should have. We had an excellent experience with the family team there, what lovely people! Communication was excellent. Given our very late check-in, we were given options for self check-in. George is an exceptional host, nothing is too much trouble, he speaks perfect English (although we had fun trying out our Greek!). The rooms are a little dated in truth, but they have everything you need and are scrupulously clean. Comfy beds, great position in the town with a view of the flamingo lake and mountains behind. The grounds are equally as clean and tidy with a fabulous pool and childrens pool/play area, surrounded by beautiful lemon trees, and fragrant rose bushes, all looked after by George's father 🥰. We had an amazing breakfast, and there is a well-stocked bar too! Just a lovely, relaxed stay that felt like home from the start. We will definitely return and recommend it as a destination for a stay in Tigaki!

Nothing to not like, the hotel has been owned by George's family since the start, we believe. A little updating of the rooms should guarantee at least a 4 star in the future, given the excellent customer service!

Golden Sun is a 2 star residence on the back of salt lake. It is a basic residence but it offers much more i imagined, it is clean and tidy. We stayed for 2 weeks on 2nd floor, amazing view at Sun set. Good matress and pillow, nice small swimming pool. The rooms were confortable, spacious and tidy. Staff and the owners are really kind. It is located 5 min by walk from the shops and pubs but it is in a real quite corner in the country side. The ratio cost /conforts is superb. Golden Sun is a must for who likes basic place but with kindness, tidy and clean places, silence. The food at the pool was good. It is a good idea for family with Kids, for couple, for retired people.

Shower curtain is Not the best. The kitchen has very few tools. But these Two things are Not a big problem for us

I loved the family atmosphere and how small it was. George ,Sophia ,Sulla and the family were always around and the pool area was never full with plenty of sunbeds for everyone. Food was cooked fresh and I'm sure the veg came from their beautiful garden. Our balcony overlooked the salt lakes and a field with chickens, cows and goats. The sun going down was like silver shimmer over the lake. The rooms were spotless though some TLC in areas were needed. Towels, sheets etc... great. Our shower was excellent always hot and powerful, unfortunately my daughters would not hang up but she didn't mind. I didn't use the kitchen facilities but it looked as if it had everything though a bit of a mish mash with plates, cups etc.. Probably does need better glasses but I managed fine. I have stayed in a lot of places in Tigaki and I would definitely return.

The noise from other guests, (very loud a mixture of nationalities that didn't seen to have respect for other guests} Normally I wouldn't care but 2am onwards it was ridiculous .

Beautiful pool - set against mountains and often quiet. Loved the semi-rural setting with chickens by our balcony ! Despite being semi-rural, it's a very easy walk to Tigaki where there is enough for 1 week - eg can eat in a different Taverna each night, and the beach is close. The staff were always good to meet; helpful and positive. In particular, big thank you for finding the necklace we left and getting in contact so I could collect it.

The kitchen area of the rooms look old but it really had zero effect for us ! The room facilities are good.

Beautiful outlook, peaceful location, excellent service from George, his dad, Chrissy and the family. Lovely people very accommodating can’t de enough for you. Traveled as a group of 8 with late teens pool and bar spotless, excellent value food perfect. Rooms : bed, shower,kitchen what more do you need spacious. Cleaned daily As in other reviews a 2star that exceeds expectations. Enjoyed our stay will be back xx

The location of the Golden sun is superb it is not far to the bars and restaurants of Tigaki yet it is so peaceful looking over farm land to the salt lake in the distance and the beautiful sunsets in the evening. The room size was ideal for a couple. The hosts were very friendly and helpful

The shower mixer tap in our room could possibly require some repairs as it was difficult to obtain a constant temperature shower. This however did not spoil our holiday

A fantastic property which was perfect for our holiday. The staff from the beginning were really helpful and friendly and we felt very welcome and well looked after during our stay. The location is perfect. Only a 10 minute walk to the beach and 5 minutes to supermarket and local bakery. The apartment was very comfortable and well equipped and the pool and snack bar was really convenient. Overall a great stay and would definitely return!

Kitchen could have done with some materials for washing up dishes but was able to get these in the supermarket so no big issue!

Owners are amazing and frendly. The food is amazing at a good price. Pool is warm, the view on mountain is stunning. Very quiet place to relax. No noise at all although your are at 5/6min walk from the main steet. By car, it is only 20mn from Kos Town, 20mn from airport, 20min from Zia, 20 mn from Mastichari(for Kalymnos), 25 min from Kardamena ( for Nisyros) Parasol are very shade ( so you can stay at the pool all the day). In july, you have the sun in the pool until 07h30PM. I appreciate it a lot. Also sunbed are very confortable. The hotel is surrounded by the nature. At any time of the day, you have sunbeds available.

Golden Sun is the perfekt place to stay if you are goding to explore the Island of Kos. Its an friendly invaiorment where you can relax and enjoy the poolarea and the fantastic family who runs the place. We are looking forward to see them agan next year. Tris is an good place fore Kalimera travelers.
