This was a lovely hotel with great staff and facilities. The rooms are of a high standard as are all the facilities around. We were half board. The food was very good and we the staff at breakfast and dinner were fantastic - very friendly and engaged with our children making them feel comfortable. There is so much food choice, you won’t be disappointed. The cocktail bar was a nice place to sit after dinner with 3 nights of entertainment, all of whom were excellent. I would highly recommend a stay here - you won’t be disappointed and it is within walking distance to a beautiful beach, as well as the local town centre.

We really did love everything, but if there was anything to change it would be to make all the areas at breakfast and lunch non-smoking, and maybe one extra night of entertainment as we loved it! The Greek night dinner was the best - we loved the local cuisine so to do more of that would make it exceptional!

The food was really good, the staff was excellent, the room was nice and clean. The beach is two minutes away. The hotel has a variety of swiming pools including a mini water park for kids. During a medical issue the hotel staff was super helpfull, they called the doctor arranged an appointment and transportation. Basically what ever you need they can organise it for you (sightseeing, transportation, masagge, …)

The pillows were too high, but with pillows it is hard to find one that suits all the guests so it totally understandable and acceptable.

Every staff member was so friendly and attentive. Very well catered to families and despite travelling as a couple to attend a wedding we will definitely consider returning and bringing the children. Nice size hotel - not too rammed with people and right amount of adult only areas too. They were also excellent at arranging taxi services and looking after you. We got stuck at cameo beach and they sent a taxi within minutes. I was very impressed with the customer service.

Slight downside was being so close to airport as you'd have planes fly quite nearby but equally it didn't bother us much after the first day and barely noticed. Cleanliness could be bit better but it was pretty good overall. They would clear up pool and pool bars very quickly and kept it looking nice throughout the day. Lunch service was very slow on one day when they had too many orders at same time. Price was quite high for 3 nights and we found out our friends had got a better rate booking direct after our stay :(

The property offers a variety of child-friendly facilities, making it an excellent choice for families. It's within walking distance of Kalamaki Beach, a safe and enjoyable spot for kids. The evening entertainment was a highlight, featuring talented dancers and singers. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious, and the staff were exceptionally warm and welcoming.

The property is conveniently located near the airport, which can result in some noise from air traffic during the day; however, flights typically stop around 11 PM, allowing for a quieter night. One drawback is that the rooms do not have locking mechanisms, so housekeeping may enter unexpectedly. Additionally, while the location is suitable for beachside relaxation, it may not be ideal for those looking to explore the entire island, as it takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour to reach the eastern, western, or northern regions.

I chose this hotel based on recommendations in a Zakynthos Travel FB group. But reality was much above the reviews ! This hotel is really a secret diamond in Zakynthos! A quiet place for relax with full of friendship. The hotel is in Kalamaki, just right next to the nicest beach in Zakynthos (nesting beach, if you're lucky, you can see baby turtles), and 10 minutes on foot to the local shops and restaurants. There is 1 more little shop in the street (open between 10-17), where you can buy necessary things. The neighbourhood is extremely quiet, great for relax. Airport is 5 minutes by car, so you can see airplanes landing and taking off - for me it was great experience because I love them. Airplanes noise did not bother at all, because in the night there is no airplane traffic. Our room was big, comfortable and spotless clean (a nice lady refreshed it every day), with very good aircon and wifi, and with a big terrace. The hotel has 3 pools (one for only adults!), with lots of sunbeds. We paid HB and enjoyed 5* breakfast and dinner every day. Dinner is different every night (includes specialities e.g. Mediterrean, Asian, Italian, Greek), and it was so delicious that we gained extra kilos during this week. We also tried the pool bar for lunch, the food was really fine for reasonable price. And at the end the most important thing : this hotel is so great because great people works there. I could rarely meet so nice and helpful staff, who did their best to make the guests' holiday beautiful. I would like to thank them for all their efforts! Our holiday could not have been better. I hope I can come back one day. Just following the hotel's slogan : I arrived as guest, left as friend and come back as family member.

Only reason I have rated it 9 is that it would of been better to have at least 1 drink included for dinner, approx €15 each evening for a family of 4 on non alcoholic drinks alone soon adds up

The staff was very polite and helpful. Food was very good with plenty different options for breakfast and dinner. The room was spacious and comfortable. There was a tiny mishap with a tour booking but it wasn’t hotel’s fault. Everything was just perfect! Shoutout to the waiting staff, especially Stavros at the restaurant and Nikos at the cocktail bar!

From the moment we walked through the door we were welcomed by very friendly and helpful staff, and that continued throughout the stay. The photos on tripadvisor are pretty much what we experienced. The rooms are clean and the grounds are well kept. There was plenty of choice of food, both at breakfast and evening, with the added bonus of free juices and coffees at breakfast. The food was a good standard for what we paid. Pool-side snack bar for lunches had a really good menu and quality of food was better. A highlight was the Eden cocktail bar in the evenings, which had a lovely finish and vibe. Even after walking up and down the main strip, this place still stood out and lured us back each night - and the price were very reasonable. We never felt a reason to need to leave the hotel. We visited at the start of September - the main pool had plenty of beds and never seemed overcrowded. But a bonus for us was the adult-only pool. Calm and tranquil, and again never a shortage of beds to choose from. Overall a great four-night stay and we would look to return for a similar break in the future. A huge thanks to the hotel and staff for making it so enjoyable and relaxing.

The rooms were clean, and were cleaned daily, but it felt like some areas were missed - and there were long hairs in the bathroom. It’s very close to the airport (great for a short journey) - the planes are loud but thankfully not too regular. Whilst a great selection of food, the quality of some of it could be better (however, good value for money).

Reading some of the negative comments, I admit I was a little bit nervous but once I reached I realized one thing: everything about the Hotel is simply wonderful! Extremely clean rooms and surroundings, excellent breakfast with plenty of choice, such kind and professional people doing everything to make you feel at home. Don't trust the negative comments! There is air conditioning in the room, wifi free of charge, free toiletries, literally 5 min very slow walking from the beautiful beach of Kalamaki and around 10 min walking from the main tavernas on the street, plenty of space for parking inside the hotel and outside in the street. If ever back to Zakynthos I'd definitely come back to the same place! ❤

We had such a great time at hotel Marelen. I would classify this hotel as a small luxury or boutique hotel. In high season the hotel still felt quiet and relaxed; we loved that. All prices are good; you’ll receive much value for money. A beautiful turtle beach, Kalamaki beach, is very nearby- you can walk to the beach in 3 minutes. The beach is primarily for the turtles and not the tourists. We as tourists should adapt and not vica versa which is such a good and healthy development. You can also walk to ‘Kalamaki-shops’ it is nice, would be more convenient if the hotel can offer steps or cycles or something, so you don’t have to walk in 35+ degrees. Thereby the staff is so kind and so much fun. We and our kids loved them; pool guy, barmen, housekeeping, reception, waiters/waitresses, gardener: all such hard en kind workers. Respect and compliments Marelen for this great team! Keep up the good work Kostas, Antreas, Denia, Nikos, Gharris/Harry, Sevi, Agnita, Alex, Bledy and much all !! So in total: If you want luxury, rest, good food, nice ambiance ánd childfriendly this hotel is perfect! We’ll come back!
