Lovely breakfasts. Lots of choice.

Room 201 was a very nice room but really noisy throughout the night as it’s overlooking the High Road. Delivery lorries, street cleaning, bottles clearing every night. People returning from the pub or later on from a club, yelling and singing. Didn’t have many decent night’s sleep. Should’ve been warned beforehand.

Good food,good Location,friendly staff

Air conditioning was set for cooling and the staff tried to convince me that this was not.Obviously the elderly gentleman new nothing about he was talking about and it took the attention of another staff member next day to listen and eventually change a/c setting to heat zone. So for 2 nights we were cold at night. The annoying part about this is that both men employees treated me with disdain when I told them the problem. As it happens I have been in the building game so I do have some knowledge. The only good part about this exercise is that the second person eventually learnt of his mistake and did apologise. This was the only poor aspect of our enjoyable Guernsey visit.

Very cheerful and helpful staff, especially in the restaurant and bar areas. Location was excellent.

Unfortunately the bedroom had 2 major failings. Firstly the walls were paper-thin. This meant that you could hear everything going on in the neighbouring rooms, especially in the evenings when you expect some peace and quiet. Late night noise is not conducive to sleep and not worth £220 per day! Secondly, there was no extractor fan in the bathroom. This meant that not only did it steam up very quickly when you had a shower (and remained steamed up for a considerable period of time), but also, and far more importantly, any smells from using the toilet remained both in the toilet and, incredibly unpleasantly, seeped into the bedroom, with the obvious discomfort. Most revolting to say the least.

Excellent location in St. Peter Port, convenient to the town and the ferries to other islands of Guernsey and to Brittany. Staff were pleasant, breakfast was decent, and the small bar was charming (I didn't try the on-site restaurants). A huge unexpected benefit was the complimentary island tour that the hotel offers on certain days.

An older, sprawling building; room was in good shape and functional but without much decor. These are not complaints, simply noting that this is not a particularly stylish place to stay.

Our room was really nicely decorated, way nicer than we were expecting, and very spacious and comfortable. It's in a great central location amongst the shops. The breakfast was excellent and staff friendly, although on check in the woman on reception seemed confused we were expecting parking. There is an explanation here, if you search for hotels with parking on booking.com, this hotel comes up and silly me didn't check it out properly.... see my comment below.... All in all we would definitely stay here again, we made it work, but probably only if we didn't need a car like this time.

So this hotel comes up as having parking available but the reality is, it's the main Guernsey port parking across the main road, about a five minute walk away. That's not really an issue, but the way Guernsey manages it's parking is a bit of a pain. It's very welcome that it's free but Guernsey works on time clocks, so basically if you park, you'll have to get up and out before 8am to move your car (if you managed to get a 10 hour the night before that is, not a 3hr). Not quite what you want when you've worked until 1am and want a lie in...

The staff were fabulous, could not have been more helpful. Food excellent in both the restaurant and Anni's Hideaway, the Apple Strudel transports you to Austria, that good. You can walk from the ferry terminal to the hotel, as it is centrally situated you are amongst the shops and restaurants. There is a bus stop close by and a taxi rank but if you need the bus terminus it is only a maximum ten minutes walk. You can get fresh milk from the reception. Slip mats are provided for the bath.

If you have a bath over the shower it can be quite a step into it, though there is a substantial handle on the wall.

Great location - walking distance from the port (ferry terminal) and parking. It's on the busy, mainly pedestrian road (a few lost tourist cars made wrong turns) so shopping and food locations are right there. Breakfast was great and the staff were polite.

Parking - but this is not necessarily the hotels issue. As a tourist, I would say parking is the biggest issue on the island, especially if you want to do day trips to Sark, Alderney, or Herm. You need to get a parking pass that you dial in the time you left your car - and the only real place you can park your car is near the port - for 3 or 10 hrs - depending on the lot you choose. So if you plan on staying a night on Sark or Alderney and you have a car... Good luck. Locals told me the only real option is to park at the airport, then taxi it into the port to catch a ferry. Some even said some of the locals rent/loan out their driveways to those who want to see the other islands. Do some research.

The location is brilliant. This is my second stay at Moores and I’d stay again. Once the refurbishment is finished I expect it will be perfect. The street it resides in in St Peter Port is lovely with the excellent pub on the corner and the shops / town centre on the doorstep. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful!

My room felt a bit tired. The bathroom was nice though and in honesty, I wasn’t in there much as I was in town for the Guernsey FC v Leatherhead match. The noise from scaffolders on Sunday morning wasn’t welcome early in the morning as my head was a little fragile. The hotel can’t be blamed for that though….

The hotel is in the middle of St Peter Port with no passing traffic so is quiet. We had room 311 with a double aspect which made it a very light room but no view. Very clean and en suite had a walk in shower which we requested. Restaurant very pretty and staff extremely pleasant.

No fridges in the rooms which meant that the fresh milk supplied in tiny bottles went ‘off’ so was wasted. It would be prudent for the hotel to put refrigerated vending machines on each floor so as to keep the milk fresh.
