The staff- superb! Particular mention must go to the following staff- Kris/Chris ( Manager) at Front Office, Christina, Roberto, Alessandro,Thanusha, Tendayi, Pamela and the room was superbly cleaned by Sendith ( name spelt incorrectly- he is from Sri Lanka- very professional and so humble,). Nolan and Kingsley, the cooks were superb too. My family wishes to really thank the above staff who went the extra mile in different ways. All made a special effort for my 90yr old mum who had a traumatic journey over from the mainland with a 14 hr delay on Xmas Eve/ Christmas day. Thank you very much.

Nothing. Loved it all.

Amazing location. The beds and bedding are lovely. Nice tea tray with option to have fresh milk. Nice bath robes. Lovely pool - heated which is great. Breakfast was excellent.

We were in 314. It was a little tired - tatty dirty windows. Water was either too hot or too cold.. suspect needs new thermostat. Towels are too small - need bath sheets at 5 star level. Felt a little more expensive than the experience suggested. In terms of value I think it’s a little over priced. Some of the team were fabulous, some seemed less interested,

Hotel was great

You can never book into the spa as a guest as all the spaces are taken I got food poisoning from the Indian restaurant and was violently ill

The hotel itself is beautifully restored, combining historical charm with modern amenities. My room was cosy and impeccably clean, offering lovely views over the rooftops of St. Peter Port and a little bit of the harbour. The comfortable bed ensured I had a restful night’s sleep. The service provided by the staff was friendly and attentive. Breakfast on-site was delicious. The location is perfect for exploring St Peter Port, with shops, cafes, and attractions just a short walk away. Overall, my stay at the Old Government Hotel was fantastic. I can’t wait to return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a charming and comfortable place to stay in St Peter Port!

Everything was wonderful. Yet, I would like to propose elevating its status to a genuine 5-star experience. I think the hotel could benefit from adding a few extra touches of luxury, such as offering a complimentary glass of Champagne at breakfast. Injecting more vibrant into the reception area could significantly enhance the guest experience.

A beautiful hotel all round. Our room was fabulous, very spacious with a huge and very comfortable bed. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, from the welcome and glass of sparkling wine at check-in, to providing fresh milk in the morning for our tea. Everyone was friendly and the service very good. Breakfasts were excellent - a fantastic array of fresh fruits and other cold 'starter' buffet options plus a really good range of cooked dishes. Lovely bacon!

This is not a criticism of the hotel itself as that is just how/where it was built, but it is at the top of a fairly steep hill coming up from St Peterport, so not ideal for anyone who struggles a bit with mobility.

Location was excellent, and as dog friendly hotels go this has been one of the best during our stay in Guernsey. We were really impressed that they provided a dog bed, bowl, and treats to welcome our dog. She was allowed to join us for breakfast, which was also really appreciated compared with other "dog friendly" places that actually limit where you can sit. The staff were really brilliant and welcoming, and made every effort to make our stay special. The spa facilities, at least according to my mum who spent a whole day in there, were great!

This is an older building and in some places does show it, a slight update in decor would benefit the property a great deal, particularly some of the worn through headboards on the beds, damaged external window shutters, etc. But overall the quality of the service still shone through.

The staff were all so helpful and professional. Couldn't fault any of them. Especially Martin at breakfast. Breakfast was excellent. Lots of choice. Great food. Location of hotel was perfect to explore St Peter Port and to walk to ferries for Herm and Sark Beautiful old building. Very well kept.

First room offered was small and smelt musty. We should have checked the bed size as it was way too small. The only way to get a bigger bed was a £240 upgrade. We had no choice. Gym and spa are both average. Relaxation room needed cleaning around the tea station and gym users kept bursting in to get water and slamming the door. Not at all relaxing ..... No word of the class timetable anywhere or even that the studio existed. We went to external classes not knowing they were going on downstairs.

It felt quite grand in some areas. The terrace and pool were lovely. The breakfast area was light and airy. The ambience made me want to stay here next time, although I’m not sure if it was value for money.

The lounge was dark and felt depressing. The carpets in my room had a few brown stains in places. My room felt really small for a queen room and the shower was so small I could hardly move in it.

Excellent Breakfast with a large choice. Hotel is in an excellent location.

We booked a Queen Room. On our first night we were shown to a tiny room When we queered it with reception they insisted it was a queen room, only when my wife showed them on their web site the picture of our very room which they showed as a Standard Room did they agree to move us the next day to a larger Queen room. The next day that photo on their web site was taken down.

Staff were brilliant. We had an issue with the air con in the first room and we were moved rooms very quickly. The Breakfast team were lovely, the whole service was super personal and very welcoming. Great location and good to have parking.

Little tired round the edges. We weren't given the dog amenities listed on their website when bringing a dog, but we had our own things anyway so didn't mention. I'm sure they would have sorted if we had.
