The location was beautiful, nice and peaceful and close to a beach which was great to cool off in hot summer weather (they also have a pool which looked very inviting). The hotel itself is fantastic, with a restaurant and bar attached that he very good food and drinks. The rooms are comfortable with insanely comfy beds, and a clean, well stocked bathroom. There was no air conditioning, but leaving the windows open at night helped cool the room down. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, very willing to help out with any of our questions or any issues that may occur.

No air conditioning in the room but this was not a huge issue as it cooled down at night and we were out during the day exploring the island.

Food was amazing, full of locals day and night, great selection and massive portions. Swimming pool, great location for walking the cliffs, bus stop on the corner, cheap bus fares. Staff are exceptional, room was lovely with power shower, the room had every comfort you need, top end toiletries In the room, tea, coffee, lovely biscuits a selection of sparkling and still water. Towels for the pool, boules, lovely terrace to sit out on and eat and drink. I used to live in Guernsey so I already knew about this hidden gem.

No USB socket in the room,private children’s party on with bouncy castle and the pool full of children that we was not informed of before our stay.

Friendly efficient staff who made us feel welcome. On first sight impressive building with our room overlooking a swimming pool. Room itself spacious and comfortable.

We intended to use the pool before we left but on Thursday and Friday when the weather was perfect there were seperate parties around and in the pool which made this impossible, also on Thursday there was a Very loud bassy speaker directly underneath our bedroom window until late at night, if we had been informed beforehand we could have made plans to be out but we had to put up with it.

Beautiful building with very well landscaped gardens. More private area with a small pool, plenty of sun beds and tables around. The hotel is one of the cleanest we’ve stayed at. Our room was spotless and we were well stocked with tea bags milk and biscuits daily. The bar and restaurant was also spotless with lots of indoor seating. We ate here quite a few times during our week long stay and that’s because the food was excellent. Tasty well presented and generous portions. Les Douvres gets very busy and is obviously very popular. The best thing about this place is the staff. They cannot do enough for you to make sure your stay is enjoyable. They’re a great TEAM and they all seem to enjoy what they’re doing and they interact with each other with respect and a sense of fun.

Can’t fault this place

I would stay at this hotel again. We would have appreciated a coffee machine and a bath in the junior suite that we stayed in. Some of the staff here were super helpful and others were just ok. After a day out on Sunday, we were starving and having got back to the hotel at 21:10, we were told the kitchen was closed. It would have been great if we could’ve had a pizza or something given that it wasn’t that late. It was quite noisy outside our room. Bottles being tipped into a bin and staff coming and going at 5am. Despite this we had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend.

Great accommodation above an historic pub serving great pub grub. The staff were very attentive and friendly.

Would have preferred being closer to a shop which was about a 20 minute walk away.

The location of the hotel is lovely and very convenient with the bus stop in front of the hotel. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff is tremendous. They go out of their way to make your stay amazing and attend to your every need. The hotel has a cosy and unique interior, and the outside area has lots of different seating areas, making for a friendly atmosphere. It's a great place to relax and unwind.

Very nice rooms and great atmosphere in the bar and restaurant and hotel in a very nice part of Guernsey. Meals and breakfast very good. All staff were very friendly almost felt like home after 2 weeks and they knew I liked maple syrup waffles and Camden beer.

When we first arrived the bus going past had been cancelled until further notice, so was a bit of walk to nearest bus stop to get into St Peter Port and the beaches in west but as it turned out cancellation only for a few days.

The food was fab, location, staff, pool, pétanque. Etc Room was lovely clean and comfortable. Pool was a great temperature with pool towels and comfy cushions.

Could do with a fan in the room - a wooden ceiling fan would fit in with ambiance. We asked for a fan though and that helped. Also the terrace outside the restaurant was noisy (probably because it was such a hot week, and we were right above it), and one night there was a drunk guy vomiting. Not the hotels fault, but could do with AC or fan so the windows could be closed.

The location is brilliant - fully retreat from urban life with easy access to nearby beaches (15mins walk to Icart for example). The hotel is in a typical European style and I was amazed by its antique decoration. The swimming pool is free to residents and there is a certain time slot for residents access only. The room size is not very spacious but surely acceptable (bear in mind it's a European-styled Hotel!) and the patio outside is certainly a bonus point. Breakfast was really great with both buffet and a la carte options. Hotel staff are always friendly and always wish to help, which made my stay a great experience.

The only issue discovered seems to be the wifi connection in my room, as it took a very long time to be connected on any of our devices, and it dropped off by itself from time to time. Even when connected the speed is not good enough for video play. It could be just the tricky location of the room causing this as in the bar, the wifi seems fine on my phone.
