Great hotel with many amenities for kids and adults alike. Private and well-maintained beach with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. Big wellness area (although the sauna area is only available for kids from 14 years old). Breakfast and dinner selection was fantastic. Location right at Balaton lake and in Kesthely's downtown. Welcoming and helpful hotel staff.

10% service surcharge included in the bar and the restaurant automatically (and not clearly communicated) - I like to tip more or less than that depending on the service provided.

Everything was great! Excellent surrounding nature and location with a lot of options for relaxation and spending your free time. Very nice renovated and very clean pool and spa area. We also liked the sauna programme, food, and the room was very nice.

Our only minor complaint would be that pets could receive something in exchange for the (relatively high) pet fee (pet bed, bowls, etc.)

Hotel Helikon is easily approachable by car. However we arrived on foot from the nearby train and bus station. Walking felt pushed back in favor of car, but it is not a big problem. The check-in went well, the receptionists were nice and helpful. The room was well equipped, we took the deluxe room with lake-view, balcony, queen bed, and a bath tub. All met our expectations, the view even surpassed it, due to the height of the hotel (we were ate 8th level out of 9). I could have used some handlebars around the bathtub making getting out easier. The wellness section was phenomenal, a lot of saunas and programs, baths, swimming pools. The latter felt a little undersized. Breakfast and Dinner was satisfactory, always something for everybody.

Our stay was a well planned duration around a national holiday and two weekends, sadly in the 2nd part a lot of other people had the same idea. In this busy time, the breakfast and dinner variety felt sloppy, and not thoughtful. During dinner, the drinks section were not in use, just like the other hotels. To make this matter worse, when I ordered tap-water, which is completely okay to order, The waitresses told me that it is not orderable. This is a violation of law, even if it is not a serious crime. It was enough to cloud my mind for multiple days and to lower my ratings significally

A wonderful hotel in an exceptional location. Excellent and varied food for both breakfast and dinner. The room was large and spacious, the bed very comfortable, and the bathroom very nice and functional. The only thing that bothered me was that the doors close very loudly – for example, when a neighbor enters their room, the door slams shut behind them so hard that the wall shakes. This can be quite disturbing at night. I didn’t use the hotel’s wellness facilities, as I spent my time exploring the town and other attractions around Lake Balaton. I especially recommend the hotel outside the high season, as it is very peaceful and you can truly relax in a beautiful environment.

The location of the hotel is very nice, right next to the lake and a very big public park. They have plenty of parking, about 6-8 EV charging stations (25 euros and you charge as much as you want for how many time as you want), a private playground for children, tennis and football. The rooms are standard for a 4-star hotel, and the breakfast and dinner buffet are good. I would for sure return to this location.

The à la Carte Restaurant from within the hotel was a complete disappointment regarding food quality and service. We tried it once at lunch: the order took some time to be brought, some of the food was not hot, and they brought all the courses at once (soup and main course). The second disappointment was the massage therapies - we took 3 in total, but they were not great at all; moderate at best.

Clean, modern hotel, Wellness was very good, room was modern, well equipped. The breakfast and evening meal were superb, great selection and good service.

On check out, only one person servicing people. We used the Wellness, no slippers in the room, when asking for them, told abruptly to go to reception to get some... not quite the service I expected when paying for such a nice hotel. The room was nice, great bathroom, sadly the balcony was hardly big enough for the table and chairs, not really a place to relax, and, finally, the Netflix service is not supplied on the smart tv...all small details, but, it makes a difference between an 8 score and a 10

It’s a pleasure to write this review cause we are already not the first time here and guess what? It became even better and all our small comments from last time got improved! So thumbs up for the management to be that attentive to guests needs and open mindedness to change old approach. To summarize it all: 1. Spotless 2. Maintained and taken care off on a very high level. 3. Every single employee is kind, smiling, professional on his/her place and ready to assist. 4. Food became even better and everybody in the restaurant is doing just a remarkable job.

I loved the location, it was close to the main attractions, to the railway station, and also to the city beach. The hotel was really nice and comfortable. All the rooms were with lake views, and ours was clean and spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable in the lobby bar and also in the a la carte restaurant. The half board has offered a wide variety of food, including well-made traditional dishes but taking into account foreign needs and tastes. As a Hungarian I missed some fried bacon at breakfast, but that is the only thing I can say. The private beach was very cute, we loved the idea of the floaty beanbags, we had a lot of fun there. I found the spa pool a bit small, I wished for a swimming pool, but we had the lake Balaton, so there was no bad feeling because of that.

The elevator worked a bit weird, we had to wait a lot and we did not find any logic in its function. To not get tap water for dinner was a bit strange, you had to buy the mineral water all the time. But all together the hotel provided us what we needed: slowing down and relaxation.

The hotel (both our room and the restaurant/spa/wellness parts) was really modern and clean. The food was a bit too elegant to our tastes, we are simple people, but we enjoyed trying new things. There were of course other, simple options provided, and a separate section for kids as well, so that's a big plus. The bars had really good options, we ordered a couple cocktails almost every day. The hotel itself has a private beach with sunbeds and umbrellas provided, as well as floating beds for the lake, those were pretty fun! The spa & wellness area was pretty good as well, we have tried saunas for the first time ever - it was a bit frightening because the saunas are no-swimsuit zones (towels are of course provided for coverage), but had to try it :)

Location, hotel equipment, food, bar, service, masage, spa. Room was spacy and very well situated. We did appreciate 2 handbasin in bathroom and separated restroom.

Small struggle with booking thru Booking. When ariving, we had to go thru all of booking procedure via Booking once again, since the hotel did not have any rooms (except Deluxe 1thousand EUR/night) available. All did work out well. Its family friendly hotel, so you have to expect allot of children during your stay. Children were behaving well, spa was partly separated. German language was easy to use, English was bit difficult at some areas. One side of matrace was "worn out", so i could not sleep close to side edge.
