The staff was amazing and very helpful (early check-in, advice for where to go / hike, etc.). The location is extremely close to the waterfall and one can be one of the first or last people to go there and make pictures by oneself - without the tourist crowd that arrives in the later morning / midday / afternoon). One can also nicely hike above the waterfall - most tourists arrive on tours and only go below or to the starting points above - but many more waterfalls are behind Skogafoss. Also Kvernufoss is closeby and reachable via foot. The hotel restaurant is nice and offers good food. Hot water and tea / instant coffee (and creamer powder and sugar) are available in the corridor close to the rooms (no water boiler in the room, but one can get hot water in the corridor).

(one should keep in mind that there is not much other activities around - also no supermarket closeby (unless one has a car and drives a bit).

The staff is of the upmost quality and expertise. In the restaurant its very noticable, they are educated and trained professionals. The way they explain things, talk to my 1year old, and even seat you. First people go to the back, so theres less disturbance from guests that arrive later. They are always friendly, happy to do their work, and very neat. As an ex-horeca professional, it brightened my trip to see there are still young people enthousiastic about this field. We forgot a bottle brush in our room, and they kept it at lost n found for us to retrieve it later. At pick up it was wrapped in plastic bag, to keep the hygiene. Very nice attention to detail.

The location was perfect. It is situated within 10 minutes walk to Skogafoss waterfalls, and another 3-5 minutes drive to Kvernufoss Waterfall. The house exceeded my expectations. The picture was probably outdated or doesn't do its justice. It is bigger than what I anticipated. They have a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious common area. We got to see aurora on our arrival day to this place and it was magical! Truly an unforgettable experience

There is only one shower for 8 people, so you really need to plan your timing especially if you want to go out early in the morning. but they still have 2 toilets. The mirrors were only in the toilet, so it's quite hard for us to get ready. I don't think the instructions include the exact location of the property. So we had to roam around the Hotel Skogafoss area for 20 minutes to find the apartment. Luckily they have a functional emergency contact outside the door and we can call the number to ask the whereabouts of our apartment. So just find "Hotel Skogafoss Apartments" and you'll find it before the Hotel Skogafoss itself. and the wifi doesn't work as efficiently

The staff were so helpful getting us out when we got stuck in the snow entering the parking lot from a different road.. The coffee facility in the hall with hot chocolate and teas were lovely after going outside to see incredibly clear northern lights right outside the hotel. Minimal light pollution. Parking very close once knew where to go very handy in high winds.. Clear explanation of sulfer smell co.mon to Iceland. On the doorstep of a stunning waterfall. Supported late dinner after getting stuck. Basic but clean room with enough space for family. Breakfast included

Breakfast was fantastic. Lots of healthy options and good coffee. Nice to eat and gaze at the fantastic views of the mountains. The restaurant had good food for lunch and dinner so you did not have to drive anywhere after a long day of exploring. The staff at this hotel/restaurant were exceptional. They were friendly, welcoming, professional and made the experience perfect.

The lobby was large with seating but could have had a selection of books and maybe games for when you are relaxing after an adventure.

Cute hotel in exceptional location. Staff is very friendly and forthcoming, dinner is (expectedly) expensive, but delicious and locally sourced. Breakfast is nothing special, but solid enough. Rooms are small but very comfortable. Unfortunately, we did not have any warm/hot water to shower, maybe there was a malfunction, maybe we were just unlucky - the tea and coffee refills available to guests as well as comfortable heating in the room partially made up for it :).

The location is amazing. Your hotel room is a short walk from one of the biggest and most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland. The proximity allows you to enjoy the waterfall outside of peak tourist times. The breakfast buffet was delicious and included a variety of foods. The bar and bistro were very convenient, and the bistro patio was a wonderful place to enjoy a view of the falls. The hotel also has a self service coffee and tea machine available to guests. The town of Vik is a short drive away for any shopping or dining needs.

The room felt a bit dated.

GPS indication was correct, but there are multiple hotels with very similar names which got me confused. Luckily a call solved the problem easily. Shower curtain could be a little longer to prevent water splashing in the bathroom.

I was really impressed by how comfortable and well-equipped is this location. Starting with the staff who were very friendly, continuing with the location of the hotel, which is to 5 minutes from the beautiful Skógafoss waterfall. The hotel has a restaurant with a great panorama towards to the waterfall. The food is delicious and varied. Everything was great, nice location, nice room, not very spacious, but smartly done.

The food in the restaurant can improve a bit. They feed you, the portions are big, but chef can try a bit harder. Pasta was overcooked, and burger -I think they put the already ready patty into grill, a bit burnt from the top and cold at the bottom, bun was cold, would be nice to put it into oven for a minute for being a bit crunchy on the top. The flavours of the burger were great, just the final product would do with a bit of a 'love'. Soup of a day was the same for 2 days that we were there.
