We were thrilled to have been upgraded to superior room as this far exceeded our expectations. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was powerful and we liked the L’Occitane toiletries. It was also nice to have a coffee machine in the room. The dinner at the restaurant was fantastic, as were all of the members of staff who dealt with us. We think the idea of a Northern Lights wake up call is inspired.

The shower was cold early in the morning which was disappointing as we got up very early ahead of a long drive back to Keflavík. The breakfast was adequate but unspectacular but neither of these things would dissuade us from staying again.

1. Convenient location near the main road. If you're a fan of the series "Katla," you'll love that the hotel is situated at the foot of the hill with the iconic church from the show. 2. A comfortable and spacious room for 4 people. 3. Nicely decorated rooms and common areas (see photo). 4. Coffee machine and kettle in the room. 5. Excellent breakfast with a wide variety of high-quality products, including vegetarian options. 6. Fun and amusing door hangers (see photo).

1. The mezzanine level in our room was stuffy and hot despite additional ventilation. 2. Room number signage in the corridor was confusing, making it hard to find our room. 3. The request for a credit card number at check-in for potential damages felt uncomfortable, especially as a long-time Booking.com customer.

Clean, convenient, comfy beds, great location (quick walk to the black sand beach). Good parking, quiet, modern, nice toiletries in the bathroom (including conditioner!!)

Check in process - very confusing communication prior to arrival stating I need to download an app to register a credit card in order to be able to check in. Think this needs rewording to state that you can do it that way or still go to reception and check in with someone there. Smokers at the entrance doors - horrible smell when they’re out there if you’re entering/leaving. A better dedicated space would be better away from the entrance

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable stay with the added bonus of incredible aurora views!

We had a family room, with a queen bed and two twins in a small loft upstairs. This was a great set up for us so we could have little space. The room was really nice, comfortable beds, good pillows, great bathroom and shower, and a huge window which faced the cliff to the north which was lush and green and full of nesting birds. It was fun to watch them. Our rate included breakfast which was in a very nice restaurant, lots of food options and high quality hot and cold foods. The location was ideal, right off the Ring Road, and an easy walk to some restaurants and the beach.

Like many hotels we stayed at on our trip to Iceland, the room needed darker curtains to help block out the light on our late June trip.

The staff were amazing, when checking in we were offered a Northern Nights Wake-up call, which was the highlight of our stay. At approx 10pm they called us to wake us up and the staff recommended to try viewing from the church, a small drive up the hill and we had incredible views. Breakfast starts at 7:30am and was great, lots of options, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, juices, plus vegan milk options. There were fruits, pastries, and cold cut meats and cheeses, and hot breakfast options too. Room was spacious enough for two people, and the bathroom was very modern. Heating was great as we felt very cosy. Parking was free.

There aren’t many hotel options in Vik to choose from but this one did the trick. It’s a simple hotel with rooms being a bit on the smaller side but very clean. Beds and pillows were ok but not as comfortable as other hotels. Bathroom was nice with l’occataine products. Hotel breakfast was mediocre. Location was great. Could walk across the street to shops, restaurants and grocery. Staff was friendly and they offer an amazing service where you can request a wake up call if the northern lights are spotted.

We stayed in the hotel part and had a family room with a second floor loft area for our 2 kids. They had their own space and we had ours, which is great to have a little break. The room and beds were comfortable and modern. The bathroom was spa like and offered lovely shampoo, conditioner and shower gel products, plus hairdryer etc. The hotel is very high-end feeling, but approachable. We enjoyed the morning breakfasts and relaxed at the bar area one evening too. It was a lovely stay, a perfect centralized location in south Iceland to spend for my birthday.

I guess the price/ value was a little off, but we did travel during the summer, so I was expecting to pay higher nightly rates and we were staying here on my birthday, so I wanted to be sure I was spoiling myself a little and not skimping on the hotel.

A very nice location in the middle of Vik (a small town itself); the lobby area was very pretty. We had an issue with our room and the staff was wonderful to find a resolution via an upgrade. I appreciated their willingness to find a solution and make our stay comfortable. A stone's throw to restaurants, shopping and the Black Sands beaches.

For awareness, we booked a family suite as we were traveling with teenagers and wanted them to have their own space/TV for evenings (in winter most of the town shuts down early); the family rooms advertise a TV downstairs and upstairs, but they told us they no longer have TVs upstairs (I would confirm with the hotel).

Great location close to the beach and restaurants and a short drive to places of interest. Staff pleasant and helpful (cleaning, reception, restaurant). Breakfast ok. Public areas good. Plenty of free parking.

Stayed 3 nights. Views of a building site from our bedroom window.. Had to keep curtains closed because there were no net curtains. Small bedroom and bathroom. No safe, [there is a safe in reception), no fridge, no room for an armchair. Poor lighting. No fan in bathroom. Really poor value for the price I paid. Stayed in 2 other iceland hotels on this trip. Both were better and cheaper. I always read travellers views before booking and in return try and give my honest views.
