This property actual blew me away - granted we had stayed in a tent the night before, but this place really is world class. The service was on point - two attendants and the desk when we arrived. Elegant bar with a phenomenal mixologist who was so fun to talk to while she made our drinks. Stunning restaurant with great food. But besides all that, the view from our room - which you can simply walk out from - is the best I've seen since we stayed in the Alps. Just massive cliffs, full of birds you can watch right from your bed or while having a coffee. Can't wait to come back!

Literally nothing

Breakfast until 10am was nice. We had a good Mountain View from our room. Marcia did a nice job at check in.

Would have been better if the side door to the parking lot was available for use.

Located right on the ring road, this hotel is a great place to discover the south coast (Westman Islands, Thorsmörk, Jökulsárlón are all within reach - 1 hour drive max). Very spacious room, comfy bed, welcome dessert on the house provided, very spacious bathroom, hot shower, toiletries provided, lovely room, amazing and very healthy and delicious breakfast (with amazing views)! Restaurant for dinner included, but please make a reservation at the reception.

I think the WiFi disconnected a few times over the evening.

Our experience with hotel Kria was great. It was an easy check-in process, the staff was very nice! We had a great room with a view and easy access to the outside and breeze! We were able to leave our window open and it let in the best breeze. Breakfast was included which was awesome, it allowed us to eat and get on our merry way with activities! The view from the breakfast room was awesome as well! Would definitely stay here again and recommend to a friend. It was clean, the rooms were comfortable, beds were great, and bathrooms were great as well!

A lovely hotel with a great bar and restaurant.

The area opposite (and all around) the hotel is quite ugly and, for the high price, I thought the room itself was a little lacking. But if you focus on the mountain views at the back it is wonderful! Also, I told them it was my birthday on the day we stayed (and my husband's 50th birthday a few days before) and nobody mentioned a thing about it. So just be aware it is a large hotel more focused on profit over people, unlike most of the lovely guesthouses we stayed at around Iceland. But it is a lovely modern hotel if you have the money and prefer that vibe.

Right in Vik it would be walking distance to the beach and restaurants, but it was so windy when we were there we did end up driving everywhere. Staff was helpful when we needed to quickly change our next day plans they helped us find a great local tour. Room was clean and we had big windows that opened facing the mountains. We were able to see a little of the northern lights through the clouds from just outside the hotel. The food at the restaurant was very good.

We aren’t from somewhere windy and this mostly just made us laugh at ourselves and watching everyone arrive at the hotel, but the parking lot is just far enough from the entrance to the hotel that when the wind is really ripping it feels like a very long journey to make it with your luggage 😂

Nice, cozy rooms, great staff, convenient restaurant downstairs with an excellent hot breakfast. The location is tops: directly across the street from the stable if you’re going to do the black sand beach ride. Also across the street and slightly over from a very central plaza for Vik: it has the grocery store, a huge REI-type outdoorsy store, a couple of restaurants, and is also the meeting point for most of the glacier tours. So, walkable!

Expensive - but then, Iceland is all expensive. The dinner menu is small.

The restaurant was exceptional. The quality of the menu exceeded our expectations. The adjoining bar was similar and the happy hour cocktail was a highlight. All staff including restaurant, bar, reception and housekeeping were very welcoming. The location was stunning. Everything that the hotel promotes online is real

We had a couple of days with high strength wind that actually prevented us doing a tour. We should have done our homework and known that this could happen, however I think the hotel could have considered warning us and possibly suggested some alternatives. They cant control the weather, but we ended up checking out a day earlier and heading the Reykavik

The breakfast is very good in terms of options and quality and the staff were promptly refilling the trays and cleaning the tables. The view from the restaurant area to the mountain is amazing. The room is decent but missing a mini-fridge and the radiator was weirdly placed under the desk :) Clean room, good temperature and relatively quiet - facing partially to the mountain (although there was some humming noise coming from some kind of machinery but I guess that was specific to our room only). But overall we had a comfortable stay.

They asked for my credit card details (including CVC) even though the accommodation was fully paid. This was really strange because other hotels would have asked for a pre-authorization on card if they wanted some kind of guarantee.
