"The Garage" is on a farm, up a long driveway off of major highway Route 1. Simple, rural, not flashy. Very clean, rustic, each room has a television, a kitchenette with plates and utensils, a refrigerator, a WC with sink and shower, and electricity outlets. The hosts Geir, Anna, and Einar are super. For guests, the check-in office has free tea, coffee and small fresh pieces of snack cake baked by Anna. There are two friendly dogs. The ocean is viewable from the small porch, and directly behind are scenic steep hills. The neighboring easterly farm has a fenced pasture having petable friendly Icelandic horses. A 5 minute drive further east is a popular bakery "Bakri Faxi", open 0800 to 1700, which has various sweets, excellent freshly made sandwhiches, soups, coffees, teas, lemonade, etc, priced reasonably and delicious.

This was such a lovely family run place. Excellent communication leading up to our stay. The location was perfect for our driving schedule. We arrived and were greeted with the most wonderful freshly baked cookies! They have a hot tub which was lovely after a long travel day. Our triple room was perfect. It was nice and clean and very comfortable. The little kitchen had everything we needed. Highly recommend staying here if the location works for your traveling itinerary!

Nothing! We just wish we knew they had a drying closet for our wet clothes when we checked-in! We were able to use it for an hour before we left which was nice.

We had a fantastic one-week stay. The apartment is very spacious and had absolutely everything we needed. The hosts are lovely, very kind and approachable - and so are their two dogs :) We also very much enjoyed the fantastic baked goods from Anna - over one week, we’ve tried quite a few of the many cakes and cookies, and they were all delicious! The hot tub was a welcome bonus, and I even got a surprise birthday present which was a lovely gesture and very much appreciated - thanks again :)

Lovely place to spend a beautiful holiday in Iceland. It’s on the ring road between Seljalandfoss and Skogafoss. Beautiful surroundings with a great view of the mountains and the lake. Nice place to spend a peaceful vacation. Rooms are excellent , large and comfortable. Equipped with all necessary amenities you need. Great view from the room and the terrace. Very friendly and welcoming hosts. They provide all the necessary practical information required for your trip. A great place to observe the northern lights on clear winter nights. We really enjoyed our stay there.

It was a magical, special place in a truly stunning location. The sunrise from our bedroom window and the nearby hill was breathtaking. The dogs were real smart sweethearts and followed us up to the waterfall and then back down. They were very playful, peacefully vigilant and friendly.

I was very disappointed with how unhygienic the bathroom was, I did not expect to see anything like this. There were splashes of toothpaste by the sink, hair in the sink and the shower, dirty fingerprints on the toilet flash and the shower floor and walls need a good scrub. I must say that this did take away from what otherwise would be a perfect experience. It was the only dirty bathroom we saw during our stay in Iceland. There was also a dry spillage of coffee on the kitchen counter under the jars and the floor did not seem very clean. The bedsheets were fresh.

This was the best stay I've ever had in any country I've visited. Anna, the host, was so nice and gracious. She made a homemade cake for the guests arriving that day as well as offered us lettuce from her garden. The property itself is beautiful, clean, and comfortable. We stayed in the haystack apartment, and the views were absolutely breathtaking...waterfall in the back and a bay view in front. My son, 7, loved playing with the 2 dogs (his favorite part of our entire vacation). There was a nice shower, washing machine and dryer, and even things like coffee, tea, laundry detergant, and other basics like coffee creamer, sugar, oil, and vinegar were supplied. Fully stocked with dishes, pots, pans, and a microwave as well as an electric kettle. Comfortable beds. Convenient location to many of the southern coast sights. 10/10 would recommend, and I look forward to our next stay.

There was nothing I didn't like.

The property was wonderful! Needed to check in late so I messaged the host and they left full instructions for me printed off with everything I needed to know with the keys so we could do so. The beds were comfortable, the room was spacious, there were basic cooking supplies to cook at the kitchenette (was great for breakfast!) as well as a spacious fridge. We didn't utilize the hot tubs (there are 2!) but they seemed in great condition. The dogs are incredibly cute and friendly which is an added bonus :) Not to mention, there were FRESH COOKIES for us in the common area that were heavenly. Don't miss out on this spot! It was also in a great location between the golden circle, waterfalls, and Vik.

Absolutely fabulous place to stay. The hosts, Anna & Siggi were brilliant. They were very helpful and made us feel welcome. Anna's daily cakes and cookies were fantastic and we looked forward to returning after our day trips for cake and coffee. The accommodation was excellent, everything that we needed and more than we expected. The shower was amazing and the water made our hair feel soft. We would recommend trying a final rinse on full cold as it was like fresh mountain water and better than any spa resort plunge pool. The room was super comfy and had everything we needed for a great stay. The location of The Garage is ideal for visiting Iceland’s amazing tourist locations. Vik (Blank Sand Beach) around 40min, Jökulsárlón (Diamond Beach) around 3hours and 'The Golden Circle' (Thingvellir National Park, Geysir Hot Springs, Gullfoss Falls, Kerid Crater) less than 2hours away. Even more locally are the Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss water falls which are only 15mins away. We would definitely recommend staying at this wonderful accommodation and we would definitely stay there again.

This was our last accomodation during our Iceland trip and it was a perfect end to the week. We stayed in the "hen house". The rooms are decorated really nicely, there's a little kitchenette, breakfast table, a nice sofa and even a hot tub outside if you want to use it! (you can see the waterfalls behind the house from it which is really lovely). Parking spots are directly in front of the rooms. If you need it there is a bigger kitchen in the main house that you can use and there's freshly baked cake as well :)

In my opinion the kitchenette could have been a little cleaner.

We stayed in ‘The Henhouse’ apartment and it was comfortable (including the sofa bed), clean, peaceful, and full of amenities including a well stocked kitchenette: The setting was both beautiful and conveniently located along the South coast, a few minutes from Skogarfoss and a short drive to Vik. Anna was a lovely and accommodating host that not only greeted us with freshly baked cake, but also held onto a small portable coffee filter we left behind, so we were able to pick it up when passing by later. We would highly recommend The Garage, and would happily stay there again.
