The location is beautiful. We had to leave very early so didn't eat the breakfast, but saw it being laid out. It looked great and smelled divine (fresh bread of cake). The staff were very friendly. They make you feel at home. The bed was a memory foam-type mattress. It was quite comfortable! I slept great. Our room had glass doors overlooking green fields and sheep - beautiful and peaceful
The shower. It was free-standing with only a flimsy shower curtain that went around. When we used it, water got all over the bathroom floor. No fan either (a note was posted to open the window when showering - but then flying insects got into the bathroom. Really unpleasant bathroom experience. Please invest in a bathroom renovation for your guests.

Nice, cozy accommodation a short drive from Vik and Reynisfara beach. Very comfy rooms and beds. Coffee machine in the room with biscuits and chocolates was a very nice touch. The room also had a small fridge which was helpful. The lounge area had a pool table which kept the kids occupied. Self service beers and sodas were also available. We specially loved the shared kitchen facility. Kids loved the Table tennis table and dartboard in the evenings. The shared kitchen was very convenient and so useful for cooking our own meals for dinner as eating out in Iceland can get very expensive. The property is just far enough outside the city to be absolutely great for Northern lights viewing. We managed to see the Northern lights brightly and clearly right outside our room, which will always make Farmhouse Lodge so special to us.
Just being nitpicky but one of the rooms was missing a glass shower partition.

Great breakfast , included in price, buffet with many choices. Room was very clean and quiet and had everything we needed including a mini fridge. . Bathroom was like new and beautiful with great hot shower. Building also had a common area that was equipped with a kitchen with microwave. Location within reasonable distance to many popular tour destinations. We enjoyed our stay!
Property pictures looked a little different then what we expected Not enough power outlets in room to recharge phones and cameras (We found only one near the floor) High cost.

-Gorgeous rural location, great for northern lights and views of the mountains/glaciers - Great room with patio doors and lots of windows to take in the views (room 10) - Comfortable beds and big room - Free coffee in reception was a nice touch - Fab communal area with cooking facilities - Lovely staff - Only 15 mins drive into Vik for restaurants and shops. Easy access for stops along the south, great little hub
Not a massive deal and didn't take away from our stay at all, but improvements as below - our room was missing toiletries so nipped into Vik to get some, just fyi incase you don't plan on bringing - room was missing a curtain, but it's so dark it's fine for a couple of nights, just needs some tlc in the room - can be a bit noisy when it's breakfast time/people through the walls, just incase you're a light sleeper. - not a lot of choice for TV channels, but again not a big deal when you're out exploring! Would definitely stay again regardless!

We had a wonderful time at the Farmhouse lodge. We were travelling with a group of friends through South Iceland and stayed here for two nights. We had multiple rooms. Some of them with amazing views. We used the shared kitchen a few times and it was also perfect to sit together in the evening for a drink. The beds were comfortable. Some rooms were big some were little. Free coffee and tea in the lobby.
We missed a refrigerator in the room. The bathroom was big but fludded easily. It had shower curtains. Never been a big fan of those in hotels.

We enjoyed our stay at Farmhouse Lodge a lot. The room was nice and cosy, the bathroom had sufficient space (the bedroom lacked a bit of space for an open suitcase, but still a great room). We also enjoyed the Barn where we cooked Dinner and met some other guests. The best in the place we thought was the view from the breakfast room- The breakfast itself was very good, including waffled and a good cereal selection.
Breakfast was a bit pricy compared to other places. Next time I would do self-catering with the great Barn available. Space for an open suitcase.

The guesthouse was full of nice personal touches and though we checked in late we still felt very welcomed. We didn't book breakfast but still enjoyed what we brought with us (plus free coffee) in the light-filled dining area. Our room was comfortable and clean and we enjoyed the view. The location is good, very close to Vík, the beaches, and other places you'll want to visit.
Like many hotels in Iceland it feels a bit expensive for the atmosphere of the hotel and the amenities provided. Though the location is generally good, keep in mind that to get to most things you will need to drive back and forth on the same road for about 15 minutes – just plan accordingly if you need to get gas groceries, or get to meeting points for your activities.

Nice big room with plenty of hooks to hang items and not trip over suitcases. Bed was very comfortable. About 10 minutes from downtown Vik.
Our shower door was curved (maybe originally for a circle shower vs a traditional?) and on a hinge which meant while you were showering, the door was swing in/partially closed so you didn't have a ton of space in the shower. We resolved by filling the toilet bowl brush that was also in the bathroom with water and using it as a shower door stop so it worked out fine and might just have been an issue specific to our room. I'm sure if we called the hotel staff, they would have provided us with a solution.

We loved the recreation room and kitchen…..it was perfect for keeping food and having a fun evening separate from your room.
We arrived a little early since my son was a bit car sick that day. At that time, the two staff members seemed a bit impersonal and short. Since we couldn’t stay, we decided to drive back in to town and let my son sleep in the car while we waited the hour till check-in. Although our room was missing toilet paper and the soap dispenser batteries were out….it was clean and perfect for what we needed. Valentine was very accommodating upon check-in and much more welcoming and personable. He also immediately helped re-stock the forgotten TP and supplied fresh batteries for the dispenser. We did not have the privilege of having breakfast there since we really enjoyed using the separate kitchen in the recreational building. We would definitely return.

The look, the facilities (there is a big shared kitchen/chilling area with comfy chairs and games and a bar), the bed, the pretty bathroom. Surprisingly, although it's close to the #1 road, you don't hear it and it still feels secluded. The staff was friendly. My friend could stay in the common areas after checkout while I did a glacier hike.
Sliding door of bathroom doesn't fully close (small gap). Not a dislike, just a tip we better could've just mentioned but we forgot: inside of sliding door needs a de-dust.
