I love the Leela brand, and I have stayed at the Leela hotels in multiple locations in India. Each hotel has its own theme and Leela does this extremely well, but I have my favourite, the Leela Palace in Chennai. At the foremost is Leela’s unrivalled hospitality fit for royalty. As soon as the guest arrives the guest is immersed into an environment of luxury where an exceptional service springs into action. The whole team work as clockwork and they do this brilliantly from the meet and greet to the front desk, the concierge to housekeeping, the staff at the lobby/lounge, the restaurants and oh my god Spectra is awesome, the buffet spread is huge, and each food station is unique, the food is extremely delicious (well done to the chefs), eat until you drop is my motto. The décor is beautiful, the rooms are very clean and spacious with 5 star facilities, the courtyard, the swimming pool on the third floor and the landscape gardening are all a must see feature, everywhere you go you are greeted with respect, and everyone is so polite, this is why I have made the Leela Palace my home and I will keep returning in the foreseeable future. Leela Palace is truly the paradise of the south. I have a very long list of people to thank at the hotel: Shimali the director of customer experience who is very passionate about her role and does her utmost best to ensure the guest receives the best and deserving experience that they can possibly get, Rohit (what a gem he is), Sudeshna, Jeetu, Prachi, Prabakah, Suman (housekeeping floor 7), Siva (housekeeping floor 3), Radhika, Souvik (front desk)……the list is endless, so thank you very much Leela Palace for making my stay a pleasant and a special one, see you soon.

The range of breakfast buffet was extensive which caters to both vegetarians like me and non-vegetarians. I am vegetarian but my sister is not. I would just advise you provide clear instructions on how you want your lamb/mutton to be cooked because my sister found hers a little less cooked. She likes it cooked well and tender. That was the only feedback she has and she had a little bit of discomfort as a result. But it was our mistake we did not provide clear cooking instructions or else they would have cooked it our expectation. The next day the chefs were apologetic but we genuinely did not think it was a big deal and that we were mindful we could have helped by being a little more careful with our instruction to help them how the meat needs to be cooked to our expectation. So my advice is don't blame the hotel for every mistake that happens as a customer we have our due diligence to play as well. Customers are not right all the time. So take the responsibility as customer and educate ourselves and be mindful.

The hotel’s ambience and service were truly exceptional. Our children had a fantastic time enjoying the pool, and we also used the spa facilities—especially the jacuzzi. A special mention to Aparna from the spa, who was incredibly warm and welcoming. We also had a sumptuous breakfast each morning, and the food at the Indian restaurant was equally impressive—delicious and beautifully presented. A heartfelt thank you to Ajit Anural from the concierge team, who went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our stay was perfect. His thoughtful service truly made our visit memorable. We hope to be back at Leela sometime soon!

Food. Special thanks to the cooks who do an extraordinary job. Chef Gopis food is divine congretulations! Mr. Jayesh Panwar made the best salads I ever had. Thank you for the excellent service.

Reception. There was a wedding when we arrived and we had to wait for 3 hours before getting a room. The room was dirty a poorly cleaned. We wasked to change the room, and after 3 hours wait we got another room with a so called hollywood king size bed which is smaller than what we booked. It would be nice to get proper information at time of arrival. We finally got to our room at 9 PM and were to tired to insist to change again. 6 hours wait to get your room is bad.

Exceptional Stay at The Leela Palace, Chennai Our stay at The Leela Palace was truly comfortable and memorable. The room was immaculate and well-equipped with all the essential amenities. From the moment we arrived until check-out, the staff offered exceptional service — always attentive and ready to help, even during late hours. A heartfelt thanks to the entire front office team, especially Ms. Adrija Das and Mr. Aditya, for their warm hospitality and continuous assistance throughout our stay. The in-room dining experience was outstanding — it felt like dining at a fine restaurant, adding a special touch to our visit. Overall, The Leela Palace stands out as one of the finest properties in Chennai. A stay here is absolutely worth it!

Morning breakfast service could have been better

Hotel looks truly royal and majestic every bit. I was blown away with the maintenance and the sheer beauty of the place. You see beautiful flower arrangements everywhere and it’s heartwarming. It’s very close to the US consulate and you can get there in less than 30 min. Rooms are very spacious and clean. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast had wide variety and options. There was a music performance at the hotel entrance and setting looks surreal and gorgeous. However it was cancelled due to rains. Whenever I called the hotel for any queries they promptly returned the call and meticulously followed up.

AC dint work and speakers in the bathroom suddenly came on and wouldn’t shut off. However staff was very responsive and sincerely addressed it eventually.

We had the most amazing girls’ weekend at The Leela Palace Chennai! From the stunning sea views to the luxurious rooms and incredible spa, everything was flawless. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the exceptional service from Urvashi. She went above and beyond to make us feel special – from personalized touches to her warm, thoughtful care throughout. Every moment felt curated just for us. The food was delicious, the cocktails perfect, and the vibe exactly what we needed. If you're planning a girls’ getaway, this is the place – and ask for Urvashi. She’s the absolute best!

Nothing

Our stay at the Leela was superb! The food was of a consistently, extremely high quality especially the Indian and Chinese dishes. All the staff were very welcoming, happy and helpful, from the waiters and chefs to the receptionists and room cleaners. In particular we must praise the 2 pool attendees, Chandra and Kumar, who were exceptionally helpful, caring and friendly. They really took care of us and made our stay extra special. Dr John and Dr Avi Riley.

The only improvement would be to allow guests arriving on early flights to check in early without having to pay for half a day's room fee. The only daily direct flight from the UK is with British Airways which arrives at 5am. We arrived at the Leela at 7.30am and were so tired we just wanted to sleep. We were advised we would have to pay £126 to have our room if we wanted it before 10am. We would have happily paid £40-50 for these 2 and a half hours but not £126. Instead, we payed £17 each and had breakfast instead. It would be good to offer the early check-in at a reasonable rate if it is just 2-3 hours early and the guest is exhausted!

Excellent hotel. Good welcome, good service, large, clean and very well-designed rooms.

The balcony door could not be opened. The elevator ticket only allowed us to go down to the floor of our room. We wanted to see the view from the top floor and it was not possible. The breakfast, which they invested a lot in variety, was like a market. We waited at the entrance because there was no free table, most of the products were missing or had run out, including plates and glasses. The waiters were busy, there was a big mess, when the coffee arrived we had already left the dining room.
