Breakfast was superb with an incredible variety of products. Staff were super helpful and rooms were bright, clean and spacious.

On the last morning, my breakfast experience was awful. It opened at 7am with one staff member was still setting up the breakfast at 07:15. I waited 20 minutes for an orange juice and 25 minutes for a cup of tea and had to ask for it 4 times. Staff started to filter out around 07:15, even though the restaurant was filling up with guests. I noticed no management at this point. Sadly this spoiled my overall trip. 7am breakfast means 7am. Overall very poor governance.

The breakfast buffet was great at the Colony! I loved the Mysore vada and the baked yoghurt! Very unusual tastes! All the dishes I tasted at Chap choy were great! Staff in the restaurants and the hotel in general were extremely polite. Mr. Nazir was exceptionally helpful.

The day I checked in was Sunday 4th of May and the Colony was fully booked for the brunch buffet. I would have appreciated that there was one person designated to make sure that guests who had not booked their tables were discreetly guided to another area where arrangements were made for them. After all we were guests who were living in the hotel and should be given preference too. I was requested to move from my seat AFTER I had started my lunch. It was done very politely by Mr. Nazir who immediately set up a table for me away from the crowd and I was given great service:) I suggested that that could have been avoided had they put a RESERVED sign on tables which were booked.

The hotel and our room was modern and clean. The breakfast every morning was wonderful and had a huge variety of options. We also took advantage of a lovely Christmas dinner would have like to have taken advantage of the nice atmosphere of the poolside bar. Staff was very accommodating and helpful. This was the first place we stayed for a three week trip to India and it was a perfect start to ease in to our travels.

The neighborhood was not particularly walkable. When we did manage to cross the street, we were able to get to a grocery store with many international options to satisfy a picky 6 year old eater!

Beautiful Hotel with all the modern amenities in heart of Chennai. The property is centrally located but off the main road so it offers a bit more privacy. The hotel kindly accommodated our family of 5 adults with two rooms and an extra bed in one of the rooms. There are 3 restaurants and we ate at the buffet on main floor which offered a variety of veg/non veg, Indian and western foods that met the needs of our group. We had the opportunity to enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner and the food was quite tasty. Above all, the service at the RainTree was top notch. Everyone from restaurant staff, housekeeping to front desk was extremely friendly, personable and efficient. If you are visiting Chennai, I would highly recommend the RainTree Hotel.

You can hear noises from the adjacent rooms, like shower, phone vibration, it is not nice to be awaken out of an alarm clock of your neighbor. Bad smell from the bathroom. I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't a 5-star hotel with such a high price.

Its a lovely boutique type of hotel , with a very central location. its clean, well maintained and the staff are just wonderful . Extremely helpful and very service oriented . The breakfast spread is lovely , with a good mix of western and south Indian fare. The fresh filter coffee is to die for. We were a bit late leaving the hotel . The reception staff understood this and without our asking for any help, they themselves alerted their staff at the airport to assist us as soon as we got off the taxi and take us through check in as quickly as possible . We really appreciated this extraordinary service ..this is what it means to go the extra mile to help customers.

Not particularly good views from the hotel room due to a new construction that has begun on an adjacent site

Every member of staff was 5 star and went out of their way to make sure we had a good stay. Just 1 example was Dhanush on Reception - helpful to suggest places to go, how best to get there and remembered the Snickers!! Probably one of the best examples of going above and beyond for customer service. Dinner in Chap Chay was good quality and value for money. Again the Manager there from Odissa was friendly and courteous. Good selection of choices at breakfast. Foot massage was excellent.

We felt some parts of the hotel needed refreshing (carpet in bedroom as an example, small gym, only 1 spa room, musty smell in bedroom) and general room configuration was smaller than we expected for a 5 star property.

The ambience and the interior was amazing and especially the lighting was great.

The restaurant( colony) breakfast buffet was repeated every single day and those who are paying with the stay especially staying more than one day will won’t have the appetite to eat it again and again and. Chap Chay should study their concept of Thai and Chinese cuisine as they are way confusing and most of it are very similar. - the room we stayed 309 was okay only problem is the shower area - as we shower the water started to flood and float . Maintenance should keep an eye on it. So far good

This is a five-star hotel, but very casual and friendly. Breakfast was superb. Location is very convenient, closed to Anokhi, Amma Naana Supermarket Chennai. Staff were very kind and supportive. Because when my bank canceled the transaction before checked in, due to suspect of unauthorized use, however they said that No worries, you can pay it at the reception. It made relieve me a lot, because it happened also last year in a different country. At that time even I explained my situation and my credit card number is definitely correct, the hotel got mad and they canceled my booking. so that, They are trustworthy and I will definitely stay here next time.

Poor drainage in the bathroom. They were so kind that arrange me a box of breakfast because of early departure, but it was a world of difference from eating at the restaurant. I am still so sorry that I haven't eaten at the restaurant on the second day.

I had an excellent stay at this hotel. The room was perfectly sized for a solo traveler or couple, with a comfortable bed and incredibly soft pillows. Cleanliness was impeccable, both in the room and throughout the property. I'd like to commend the front desk staff, particularly Dushyant, who made my early morning check-out seamless. His thoughtful gesture of offering a bottle of water and a cup of coffee to go was greatly appreciated. Such small acts of kindness truly enhance the guest experience, especially during departure. During check-in, Debalina (I hope I've remembered her name correctly) was equally helpful and welcoming. Both staff members significantly contributed to my positive experience at Raintree. In retrospect, I regret not tipping Dushyant due to my preoccupation with travel plans. However, I want to emphasize how much their attentiveness and professionalism enhanced my stay. The front desk team's dedication to guest satisfaction is truly commendable and a significant asset to the hotel.

The buffet spread can be a little more organised. I felt the tables were too close to each other not giving enough privacy for a person to sit at peace.
