Everything. The tranquil setting, the waterfront with benches dotting the water's edge where you can spot ferries and feathered friends all day long, the spotless rooms from where you can watch the sun shimmer and sparkle like diamonds on the Lake Ashtamudi, the coffee shop overlooking the lake, the little gift shop with hidden treasures, the immaculate housekeeping, the scented corridors, the architecture and landscaping, the bathtub and indulgent bath products, and more than anything : the staff and service. My kudos to manager Manik for making us feel safe and cared for. Suraj at the reception the entire housekeeping team and the coffeshop servers , the staff at the front gate etc all made us feel comfortable and pampered.

Food. For a property of this scale and price range, the flavour of the food should be superior. But the breakfast buffet is truly expansive and features a lot of local Kerala dishes which must be appreciated.

We are pure vegetarians. But they had lot of vegetarian options. The food selection kept changing every day, which I have never seen in other hotels. Lot of verities to select. Quality and food tasty are outstanding. So friendly serving staff. Executive Chef give's personal attention, if any extra items to be made to our requirement. We really enjoyed their food.

Reception desk should be equipped with AC or Fan or Water Cooler, especially on daytime. It is pretty hot. The rest of the area is fine with natural air flow.

Everything (especially the Reception Staff, Dining Room Staff and cleaning staff except for the items listed under "what didn't you like")

1. Elevators (at least one) not functioning in the Premium Tower most of the time 2. Functioning elevator being used as service elevator most of the causimg delays and damage 3. Very poor network/wifi. Perhaps the most outdated IT operations I have seen in a 5 star facility. 4. Couldnt work at all on the laptop for fear of damaging it as power goes off and on whenever there are heavy rains at least 10 to 15 times in a few minutes while the Laptop is booting. The Generator/Auxiliary Power coming on automatically is understandable but not if main power is repeatedly tripping every couple of minutes. If during heavy rains which is usually 20 minutes or so, the generator could be operated manually and kept on for half an hour until the main power is steady.

Can’t pick one reason. If you are looking for a local blending without many foreigners around you, highly recommended. Let us start with the complimentary boat rides, the welcoming staff, evening dance performances.. worth the stay. The staff was attentive to customer needs and you will always find someone whom you can reach out for help.Their facility extends to drivers at a very reasonable rate limited to meals and bath.

The following is not a don’t like, rather an opportunity to improve. (1) Provide an area for drivers to sleep, even if it is a big room with simple mattresses, (2) revisit the food prices, there are good options (cost, taste) if one sends their drivers out for 10 mins drive.

The staff from security guards and front desk staff to housekeeping and everyone else are a credit to this hotel. I was made to feel like royalty. My special thanks to Anju, Ashwin, Revathi, Rewa Supratik Vipin, Lenin and Nazim. Also numerous others . Superb service Views are stunning. Immaculately clean. Free boat ride and chai every afternoon. Evening entertainment was superb. I can't say enough good things about this place excellent value for money. I will be returning.

Not being able to stop for longer than 3 nights

Nice location, very friendly staff and top class facilities . Any day recommended. Head chef Arun's feast was the most memorable part of our stay. Really enjoyed his co and he introduced his team. He recommended special dishes and it was in deed very delicious. If you wana enjoy fish nirvana this is the place and Arun is your man!!!. Special mention to pool staff too. Exceptional stay at leela. Houseboat trip followed by high tea will make your evenings much brighter

Our rooms were very comfortable and well maintained with an excellent view of the lake. I particularly would like to thank the servers at the restaurant who made efforts to care about the needs of my aged parents. The masseuse at the spa did an amazing job.

A hotel at this level should definitely have drivers' quarters with full facilities, both shared or single, to choose from. Many guests travel long distances and like to ensure their drivers are well rested and can get this within the hotel at good prices. If tables at the restaurant are pre booked, please use a "reserved" board so that other guests are made aware and not unsettled suddenly during a quiet meal.

Had a great staycation at the Leela ashtamudi..went fr two day with family..the expectations from us wer all fulfilled by the pleasant nature of the staffs nd the hospitality provided.breakfast was more than our expectations..complimentry boat ride was ther wch v thoroughly enjoyed.v took the soa treatmnt wch was a great xperience and calming..thankyou fr making our weekend memorable.

Just a few words on the maintanence of the room .rooms wer al good .v booked 3 rooms..out of wch wer my parents stayed..the bathroom fittings wer Lil old nd was not comfrtbl ,the tap was working bt all those req a Lil more maintenance..if your team can look in..i will mention the room num .it's 211.

The service, polite, sweet and really going out of the way to make everything comfortable. Food, location, amenities were great - as you'd expect from a luxury resort. But the people made our stay exceptional. Oh and the cultural additions - the flute, and the bharatnatyam performance - damn fine!

The water bottles in the room were glass, but with a seal - and we're not reusable as a commodity. I would have liked the resort to be more ecologically responsible.
