This is a very well run hotel with exceptional service by a kind and generous staff without exception. They are a very well organised team. The pool was relaxing and food very nice. My only ‘area for improvement’ is the breakfast menu. We ate predominantly superb Indian food during our stay, however preferred an English type breakfast of which there were some small aspects but generally a very basic menu. Perhaps tomatoes, mushrooms, boiled eggs would have offers something more. There were omelettes which were a little bland for my taste. Just a small point which doesn’t affect our overall experience at this nicely run, high service establishment.

Breakfast range.

On check in we noticed renovation works being carried out next to our room. We accepted works needed to be completed but the 2nd day into our holiday varnishing works in the next room were being done which left a very strong lingering smell in our room which was unbearable. After talking with the Reception staff they offered an alternative room which we took. Room very spacious and clean with a great view of the coast line, Nice breakfast and Hotel facilities good. All staff very friendly and welcoming.

The staff was friendly and very helpful. They considered our request for rooms near to each other and upgraded one of our booked rooms to a better one so that we could stay closer to our family. Shout out to the exceptional customer service. The drop to the beach and room services were good. The rooms were spacious. Location was good. Swimming pool was available.

When compares to other 5 star hotels, cutlery set was missing in the room. Liquid hand wash dispenser wasn't available near the wash basin. Faced few challenges with driver accommodation.

The breakfast spread was amazing . Lot of choices . Continental and South Indian! The most amazing part was the staff ! The service was excellent and they bend over backwards to get things done .! I have travelled a lot and the staff here beats every other place I have been ! Kudos to them

It was a bit noisy at night from other rooms . But the staff sorted it out for me

Property is clean and has Comfortable rooms. Staff was courteous and hospitable. We went to the catamaran restaurant and the WWW rooftop bar. Both has good food and drink option. Rooftop bar has the best views.

Wish the property had beach access. The public beach is closed until October due to the rain. You can’t even walk on the sand. Mosquitos are a problem in the area not much hotel can do, bring bug spray. Activity room was plain maybe we would’ve used it if it had a fan or A/C

Gokulam resort is a gem hidden among the beauty of Kovalam beaches and coves. But even more invaluable is the warm, welcoming and friendly staff. Service was always quick and prompt with a smile. Rajesh is an excellent host. He's the main man there. Ask for him for anything and he'll make it happen if possible. Restaurant food was excellent as well. I even made requests for certain dishes that was made available by the chef the next morning for breakfast. Our room had a spectacular ocean view. Coconut palm trees lining the Arabian Sea coast with dozens of fishermen boats on the sea hunting for their daily catch was simply surreal. The monsoon waves beating on the massive rocks made a beautiful relaxing sound that was blissful and divine. If I ever come back to Kerala, India I will be staying longer in Kovalam and definitely booking a longer stay at the Grand Turtle.

The room door bell chimes sounds like a smoke alarm going off. They need to change it to something more pleasant and soothing.

Our suite was fantastic, great views, wonderful size, we had a couple of problems but the operational manager and manager rectified these after a couple of days which we really appreciated.

Service in the dining room could be chaotic, and unorganised at times, but staff were very polite and friendly, I think European expectations are slightly different to local ones, but these were resolved and staff were so helpful and kind.

The location of the property is good.The Beach is at walking distance.The hotel provides vehicle to drop at beach but not pick up due to local taxi union.The rooms at 3rd floor has aircon problemsbut were sorted out.Roof top restaurant was under repair.Restaurant staff at pool side(thts the major one) used for Bf & dining were very good and hard working to complete everyone's order.Especially Mr.Robin& Mr.Jibin team.Ms.Lasitha at the reception goes out of her way to make your stay comfortable.Overall, we were happy & will like to visit the property again.

1.Restaurant prices are bit expensive. 2.Restaurant seemed a bit understaffed in kitchen,order time is 20-25Mins. 3.Room service needs improvement. 4.Aircon service & maintenance needs to be improved. 5.Water from shower seeping out on floor during bath,glass door needs better sealing.

Hospitality, Location, Views

Although the charges are as much as 5 Stars, facilities do not justify the charges. The facilities were not bad but not the level of 5stars as per the room charges. It could have been a little less. Otherwise very warm and nice staff, good food, and perfect for holiday.

Right from checking in to checking out the experience was great. Received by Aishwarya at the reception to the Manager Rajesh went out of the way to make our stay comfortable. The wait staff at the restaurant were very courteous and make our dining experience a memorable one. The Ayurvedic massage was simply great and relaxing and kudos to the staff and the Dr there .
