An oasis of green, the perfect escape from the beach heat and instantly inviting from the moment you walk down the path. It was very tranquil, cool and quiet. Each room has its own table for eating breakfast but also just sitting out to read/do some work etc. The mixed Keralan/English breakfast was great and they even made a good coffee! It was spotlessly clean - not something we’ve experienced in other places we’ve stayed in India! The linen and the towels were also better quality than we’ve had at other places in the same price range, and the shower was good. The AC and fan were also both good. It’s a family run property who are extremely welcoming and friendly and go out of their way to make your experience better. We were driven in the owner’s tuktuk to our massage that they helped us organise, and also asked if we would like to see their local temple at the start of some religious holiday celebrations, which we felt very lucky to be able to experience. The owner’s son also made sure we got into our taxi safely as we left and offered to get us fresh bottles of water for our onward journey.

A Perfect Stay Amidst Nature Recently, my wife and I had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful homestay, and it was truly a memorable experience. The room is nestled within a beautifully maintained garden that feels like a tropical forest. Mr. Renjith, the owner, has done an incredible job of creating a serene eco-friendly retreat while preserving the charm of a classic Kerala home. The ambience was enchanting, especially at night and in the early morning, with nature all around us. It’s inspiring to see passionate individuals like Mr. Renjith contributing to tourism in such a thoughtful way. The helpfulness of the family when we arrived in the thunderstorm was quite a special moment to say the least . We couldn't make it out as the weather was so bad . They made us some food of their own. This was an amazing meal, we had had to take the recipe back with us ! The location is so close to the beach (5 min walk) and their garden was spectacular! Only wish we could achieve this in the uk . The room was exceptionally clean upon arrival with great facilities. We have had two weeks in kerala, this was the best home stay by far .

Had the most delightful 3-day stay with my family at Marari Umapathi Villa, a true gem just 600 meters from the beach. We get a quite beach access away from the commercial Area. The cozy, well-equipped stay provided a perfect retreat. The warmth of the host and their commitment to ensuring every need was met made the experience exceptional. The food was delicious and a culinary journey in itself (Aunty will make anything you would like to try) . This lovely place, run by an amazing family, creates an atmosphere that feels like a home away from home. If you seek a budget friendly, peaceful and charming stay, Marari Umapathi Villa is an absolute must-visit gem. Grateful for the hospitality Umapathi Villa..you made our stay truly memorable!

Great location and setting. Room was spacious with aircon that was quiet. The owners were brilliant and food was great. Turns out they have a Tuk Tuk and so took us to the local temple. We were worried at the start as it seemed too cheap and so we thought there must be an issue but it’s the best place we’ve stayed in since arriving in India 2 weeks ago.

The property is lovely and small and surrounded by trees! It’s a 5 min walk to the beach and 5 minutes away from a restaurant with a lot of food options. The hosts were a lovely family and very helpful with information and riskshaw booking. It was a convenient lication and the comfiest bed! The room was clean and offered everything from teas and coffee, a kettle, water, and the washroom had shower gel and shampoo in case you forgot yours. Just a great little stay!

We loved the place. The property is filled with lush greenery and is very well maintained. The owner family is so warm and welcoming. They went out of their way to make us comfortable. They helped us in renting scooter which is very difficult to get in Marari. They informed us about the cultural event happening at the Shiva Temple which helped us getting a cultural and Devine experience. The location of the property is also perfect. It is just a 100m walk to the beach. Thank you for a lovely experience.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming property with a truly delightful atmosphere. The best things is the Marari beach which is like 10 minutes away from the stay.The experience was elevated by the warm hospitality of an amazing host who not only ensured a comfortable stay but also surprised me with their culinary skills. Great location, terrasse with jungle feeling, amazing and delicious breakfast (Home made!), the nicest host family ever! They booked everything we asked for (Tuktuk, laundry, yoga class). The location is also amazing, just by the beach, in a very quiet part of Kerala, great for meditation, slow down. We definitely want to come back again!!!
