This lovely retreat is hidden away among tea plantations which spread out as far as the eye can see. We were welcomed by Sibim and Athul who offered us a cup of delicious tribal coffee - a welcome treat after several hours on the road. Our room had the most fabulous view across the hills to the mountains beyond. Breakfast each day consisted of local dishes - mild curries and rice accompaniments - as well as toast with jam and butter, omelette, coffee or tea, and beautiful watermelon and pineapples, which are grown locally. Forestscape also offers lunch and evening meals, all cooked fresh, using quality ingredients, to the excellent standard and the excellent value for money we've come to expect after a fortnight in Kerala. On an evening we could enjoy the cool air on the balcony or sit around the camp fire and listen to music. The beautiful and peaceful surroundings are ideal for relaxing on the balcony and admiring the view, but there are plenty of opportunities for hiking - we went into the forest on our own, but on another day we arranged a guided hike and this was much better. For 300 rupees our guide, Thomas, took us high up into the forest, pointing out plants and animals - we ate cardamom seeds, green peppercorns and wild raspberries straight from the plant, and we saw giant Indian squirrels and monkeys in the trees. This was among the best things we've done in Kerala so far. The hotel staff can arrange for a tuktuk to take you to a cave system where a tiger lived until it was flooded out, and then on to an elephant watering hole - we were lucky enough to see a female and a male elephant drinking there. Munnar town is well worth a visit - the bazaar is a riot of colours, sounds and smells! On the day we visited there was a festival going on at the Hindu temple and we watched a vibrant procession of dancers, drummers and music. Finally a great big thank you goes to Sibim at Forestscape who could not do enough for us - nothing was too much trouble.

One word of advice for international tourists - Google pay only works if you have an Indian bank account. Make sure you have enough cash to cover your bill.

Recently I stayed at this property and I must say what an amazing place it is surrounded with lush green tea estates, clouds and mountains that I dreamt of 🫠 Resort’s staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming Room they gave is spacious and well maintained with all the necessities and breath taking view. Overall, Forest Escape Resort is a Must stay place for solo travellers as well as for families with exceptional services and beautiful views around . I would like to mention Mr. Salvin Thomas who took good care of me and appreciate his prompt response to my requests and willingness to go the extra mile …….

Everything is ok

The view from the room is absolutely stunning. The staff are warm and helpful, always ready to assist with trip planning. Breakfast was enjoyable, and the room itself was comfortable—but the view truly steals the show.

I would recommend informing the staff in advance if you’re arriving late, as network connectivity is limited and Wi-Fi may not be immediately accessible. Since the reception closes at night, it can be challenging to communicate or locate assistance after dark. It would be helpful if the property could consider sharing Wi-Fi details beforehand or enhancing late check-in communication for a smoother arrival experience.

Extremely serene location. One will fall in love with picturesque views of tea garden from room”s big windows and large balconies. Staffs are very friendly and welcoming. Like to mention an extremely generous staff named “ Sibin” for arranging a bonfire on request . Another staff arranged a speaker . Thanks to both of them . Also like to mention “Amal “for guiding us to great spots of Munar . Good music along with bonfire made a perfect getaway. Loved the hospitality. Thanks for treating us this great. Pearched on a hill side overlooking a beautiful tea plantation. The rooms were big with a balcony and a great view down the valley. There was no air con, just a fan, but to be fair that was enough. Due to the altitude you didnt need air con. We ate at the hotel, there didnt seem anywhere else around. The food was fine and the staff couldnt do enough for us. They were very attentive. When we booked the accommodation we were quite excited about it having a pool. When we got there were told that the pool was undergoing maintanence. That was an understatement, it looked like it had been undergoing maintenance for a considdrable amount of time ha ha. The staff were happy to light a camp fire at night. All in all a more than decent hotel, far from the maddening crowd.....just dont get your hopes up about the pool!

We had a great time at the Forestscape resort in Munnar. We book a bit last minute but they still manage to book a jeep safari for us in the afternoon. It was a great experience to visit the tiger cave and the different waterfalls but the highlight of the tour were, of course, the elephants. Our guide was super friendly and knowledgeable. We stayed in one of the cabins, with amazing views of the tea plantation. Also, we would like to mention Sibil who was really attentive with us and always with a smile. We had dinner and breakfast at the resort and it was delicious. Overall very happy we chose to stay here-recommended!

I had my own little hut. Lovely little balcony with spectacular views over the tea plantations. The room had a kettle, so I could make a cuppa in the morning. The location is great if you want to be away from noise and other people. Nice staff but a special mention of Sibin. He was fantastic. Beaming smile and nothing he wouldn't do for us.

My recommendation would be to check if their credit card machine works unless you have Google pay or similar. It is far away from an ATM. Fortunately, I had enough cash. But this should have been communicated to us earlier.

Really enjoyed my stay in Forestscape Munnar, everything was well taken care when I was there. The room had ample space, comfortable beds, nice bathroom, as per pics. All areas were tidy and clean , the breakfast was super, there was a cook present and she could cook for you fresh food. The food in the restaurant was also nice and of reasonable prices. To top it off, I even had chance to meet local people as they kindly invited me to spend time with them

If you come for few days in the region , plan ahead and book your activities in Munnar region in advance, also be cautious if you arrive at night in the area, as it is in the mountain and there are many mountainous roads ahead. But it is a very safe region and the roads are on good condition.

The location is great. The rooms are aesthetic and has a beautiful balcony. One can spend a whole day sitting there. Roads are very much drivable. The Manager is very friendly and helpful.

The service was slow. Water bottles (complimentary) which were supposed to be given every had to be called in for. Even glasses had to be called in for. The bed sheet was torn at places. Breakfast starts really late at 8.30 am. If you are supposed to leave early, then you will not get breakfast. And yes they charge 150 INR for onion salad.
