I absolutely loved my stay at Guru Hotel. The room was spotless, and the location couldn’t have been better—right in the heart of the action, with loads of great restaurants and local spots just steps away. As a solo female traveller, I really appreciated that the hotel only has six rooms. It felt safe, intimate, and personal without ever feeling isolated. I stayed in the ground floor room with direct access to the pool, which was both peaceful and incredibly convenient. Even though it was quiet, I never felt alone—the concierge was always just around the corner if I needed anything. It struck the perfect balance between privacy and a sense of being looked after. Highly recommend this gem of a place—I’ll definitely be back!

Arrived in Bali to find that our luggage had been lost on the previous flight, continuing into the next day with no luggage, we had no idea on where or when our cases would be dropped off. The hotel staff were straight onto it and they were in contact with the airport constantly. Finally 2 days into the holiday, our luggage arrived and I can’t thank enough of the three staff members enough for their continuous help, because without them we would of definitely not received our cases that quick. They went above and beyond to help us as much as they could always offering us coconuts and fresh towels and asking if we need anything The hotel is so nice, it’s not your 5 star hotel so don’t expect it to be so flash but it’s so nice and chilled. The bed is so comfy and rooms are basic but very tidy and clean. Close to all the bars and restaurants all walking distance It is noisy with the music from the beach clubs but you don’t expect to be quiet when coming to canngu. The music didn’t put us off whatsoever and we will definitely stay again when we return to Bali

Everything! The whole place was really nicely done; there was some building work going on so I didn’t see everything but that was all kept out of the way and didn’t disturb! Pande, Tuwi, Nining and Arya were all so helpful, letting me know about any issues and when things would be resolved, ready and available for any questions I had and just happy cheerful people! The pool was lovely and a great way to relax! It was a lovely location :)

You could sometimes hear the nightclub in the evenings, but it wasn’t really that bad! And location wise, it can be a bit longer to get to places like La Brisa if you don’t like getting on a moped - the traffic for cars takes a bit longer, but it didn’t affect my stay, just was way quicker the one time I took a moped!

Guru Canggu was a fantastic stay because of the beautiful ambience and serene atmosphere. It really did feel like an escape once you walked through their gates. The room was very clean and spacious. The decorations were well thought out. The bed was so comfortable. The staff were super friendly as they made my husband and I feel so welcome. We even tried out their Balinese massage and even had it in our rooms so it was more private. Well worth the price for what we paid for. We really hope to come back in the future!

The only thing to keep in mind about this place is that although it is relatively quiet, you may hear the bass and loud music at night from further away. But this is just a nitpick cause we prefer more peaceful spaces. It does die down around midnight.

The photos we saw to book reflected the inside of the room and the outside area perfectly, it was exactly as we expected. Room was super clean and cool with the air conditioner, a beautiful space to relax. The location is off the main road, so it was a peaceful place to come back and rest, but close to restaurants and shops. An 8 minute scooter ride to the beach. The staff were amazing. Very kind, happy to talk, and super accommodating for our late check in, took our luggage up and down the stairs and gave us tips for all kinds of activities and restaurants. We tried one of the restaurants (L’Osteria) and had a great night.

I loved that the staff was so sweet and professional! I got a text on WhatsApp every morning where they asked if I needed anything. I even got a free massage because they liked my energy :) The hotel is very secluded from all the noisy bars and clubs in Canggu, but close to all the best restaurants and cafes. The rooms were beautiful with that typical Bali style and they had a great driver who picked me up at the airport. I would definitely stay at Guru Canggu again!

There wasn’t enough toilet paper, but I could’ve asked for more of course if I needed. The safety box was also broken.

It was my first place when arriving to Bali and I felt directly like home. It is a small but very cute place in a side road away from the busy street. I was welcomed very friendly and my room was the highlight. I had the suite and I felt like home. Everything was super clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I felt at peace right away. The vibe was very relaxed and quite. Nice pool area small but does it duties Walk to the beach about 10 min Lots of cafes and Restaurants on the main road. Everything walkable Would stay here again :) Thank you for the nice and warm welcome

Guru Canggu – if you are still searching for accommodation in Canggu, stop now! Guru Canggu is heaven on earth. What’s not to love? The hotel is extremely quaint and charming, and the interior of each room is designed so picturesque and immaculately clean. The quality of the furniture is top-notch, the bed feels like a CLOUD, as well as the beautiful bathtub. A mini fridge, tea kettle, fresh water, coffee, tea, slippers, feather duvet, desk area looking straight at the sunset, speedy Wi-Fi, and blackout curtains are all provided. Superb location in heart of Canggu, near trendy restaurants and bars, and surprisingly quiet simultaneously, which is extremely hard to find in Canggu. Last, the most important thing is the lovely, sweetest, kindest staff and management. I have been in Canggu for the last two weeks, and I have kept coming back to book the Sunset Suite (Deluxe King Suite). The moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond with their service, greeting me with an ice-cold coconut, giving me a list of recommendations within the area, providing me with laundry service, and even an option to book a massage in the comfort of my room. The hotel has truly felt like my Bali home, with the staff/management being my Bali family – some of the most beautiful people and souls I have met inside and out. This has truly been one of my most memorable accommodation experiences, and I will always stay here and forever when visiting Canggu. 10++++++.

NOTHING, I loved it all!

We had such a peaceful and relaxing stay at Guru in Canggu. Pande and Tuwi were always incredibly helpful and friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a calm, serene atmosphere that made it easy to unwind. There are some exciting renovations coming soon too, which we’re sure will make the experience even better. Guru will always be our first choice whenever we return to Canggu. Thank you for an amazing stay!
