We had a good time at the hostel, chatting with the very nice host, the also very nice tour guide and another guest. We slept well without any disturbing noise. The hostel is also situated conveniently close to Gambir Station, so if you don't mind the heat, you can walk there.

When we arrived late in the evening, the gate was closed and our telephone didn't allow us to call the Indonesian number that was written on the gate for this case. Fortunately, our taxi driver helped us to call the host. Our twin room was quite small, so you have to be organized with your luggage, but that was ok for us.

Fantastic location, within walking distance of many central attractions and a train line that goes to Jakarta Kota/Bogor. Great social atmosphere, and there is a good mix of chill and more of a party vibe, with group dinners, tours and the occasional pub crawl. Kenya (who runs the social activities) is awesome, would highly recommend doing a walking tour or cooking class with her! The rooftop bar area is great and rooms are small but quiet and comfortable. Nearby Makanan Padang restaurants are incredible for any meal.

Having a water filter would be great instead of having to buy bottles everyday!

24-hour reception, helped me open compound gate at 3 am 🥺 There are 3 toilets in my floor (4th floor), no problem at all with cleanliness and waiting time for toilet/shower. Good view of Gondangdia station from great rooftop & 5th floor chill space... They have sofa in every floor. Good location, right next to the US embassy, street food side street just a short walk on the way to Gondangdia & pretty accessible to most central and South part of Jakarta.

My capsule was at 4031, but it seemed to have a little red/blood stain on upper right corner (when lying down) from previous occupant. Somehow I don't feel like wiping it off, so I left it for hostel cleaner to do their job, not too bothered by it....

Konko Hostel is a nice place to arrive in Jakarta - friendly, clean, safe, and in a great location for local and intercity transport. I arrived from an international flight, it is easy on the airport train to Manggarai, then two stops on commuter train to Gondangdia, then a short walk. A short walk to move on from Gambir the next morning, too. So, I only saw the area in the dark, but I would say it is very convenient for travel. My "Deluxe Single" was quite tiny, with a capsule-like bed and a small desk and a window, but if you study the photos carefully, they are an accurate presentation. Walls are a bit thin,so I heard the neighbours coughing. Other than that, I have absolutely no complaints - bed was comfortable, there was good light, plugs to charge my phone, drinking water in the room, tea and coffee for free by reception, and reception was staffed 24/7. The shared bathroom was clean and adequate. All in all, a very nice restful stay for my first night in Indonesia.

It I am nitpicking, walls are a bit thin, bring earplugs if you are sensitive.

Loved the privacy of their capsule style beds which are super comfy. The property is clean and quiet despite the busy road nearby. Friendly staff. Little extra points for the kittens on the balcony :) the location is also pretty good because it is midway between gondangdia which takes you to key points in the city and Gambir which can take you to other cities. There's restaurants right at the bottom of the building so you don't have to go far to eat.

The access can be a little confusing as you have to go through the small cafe at the bottom to access the stairs to the reception. But nit a huge deal, just something to keep in mind.

Property itself is very nice. Clean, bright and calm place to be in.

The location and nearby atmosphere is dangerous and awful. My phone was stolen near to hostel and I was not the only one. I was the 8th of 9th foreigner in a row who got robbed. Please be very very careful about your belongings. Don’t flash and hold your phone in reachable position. You can be easily robbed. I myself was robbed in the evening, when I was walking on the street, showing my family the city around through video call. Robbers came from behind, snatched my phone and went away with a moto bike. I have met some other guys who were also robbed in this way. It’s not a very safe place, please be careful!

My friend and I stayed in a twin room (bunk bed style). The bunk bed is built into the room so it was incredibly sturdy and strong. Each bed has it's own spacious storage area underneath the bed. The beds, pillows, and blankets are comfortable. The bathroom is equipped with hand soap, body wash, shampoo, and a hair dryer. They provide a complimentary toothbrush, q-tips, and a body towel. I liked how each floor had it's own lounge area next to the stairs. I was able to pack my backpack out there without disturbing my friend while she slept. The front desk is 24 hours and the staff is really helpful and kind!

The hostel isn't as clean as I expected. I had to wipe down a lot of surfaces using my own disinfectant wipes because it was a bit grimy, especially my storage area. I found a spider and a couple ants around/in my bed area. It wasn't a huge deal to me but a warning for those who might be uncomfortable with that. Overall, it fulfilled our 3-night stay!

I think the staff were very welcoming which kind of gave me a sense of belongingness. The bed was comfy. The facilities over there good and clean. Even though I couldn't book for 2 nights together, but the check in, payment and check-out were together for those two nights. So no hassles with different bookings.

First time I stayed I got lower bed but this time I stayed for 2 days and it was upper. I was having a difficult time to reach my bed each time. Also the second day my sleep was disrupted by other roommates several times.

I loved my stay the accommodation and staff were 100% Would like to say special thank you to Shaimal who helped me get my train tickets and helped me research where to go to get my next travel arrangements as well. A truly kind person who your hosel is lucky to have as your other staff.

There is not anything to dislike . Staff, accommodations, location all excellent . I am writing this in this section as did not have room in liked section as got to many good things to say about my stay . Plus food was excellent too.

The location，reception service，bath room and employees attitude are all good，friendly and helpful.

The smell is not good in the toilet.
