We stayed at this beautiful accommodation for 3 nights and we couldn’t get enough of the view. Waking up in the morning with Mt. Batur and Mt. Abang was astonishing. The hosts (Mario and Ranting) were very nice and always made us feel at home. Whether you want to do Mt. Batur hike (start point is a 3 min scooter ride from the accommodation), get a driver to take you somewhere, wash your clothes or even get a massage at the accommodation, both Mario and Ranting will arrange it for you. The accommodation has a restaurant, and let us tell you the food was delicious and affordable, so it was not necessary for us to leave the accommodation at all. Our stay included breakfast, and the omelet was delicious, served with a fruit portion. The honey chicken and mujair nyat nyat (if you like spicy) were the best dishes on the menu in our opinion. We had the chance to cook a local fish dish (mujair nyat nyat) with Ranting, this was definitely our favourite part of the stay! And by the way, they grow their own onions, tomatoes and chillies around the accommodation!

There are a bunch of flies because all of Kintamani is full of agricultural lands, you can’t avoid it. It’s not only at the accommodation. You get used to it :)

A well priced & varied dinner menu, unfortunately our favourite chicken satays were not available. Lovely decor in the villas, clean & fresh, very comfortable bed. This property of three villas is still a work in progress, establishing lawns & gardens, adding a swimming pool in the future. This couple are doing a great job at creating a property that they should be very proud of. Beautiful views.

Breakfast although tasty could be a little more generous. Suggest adding a second piece of toast & also some butter & spreads such as honey & jam. Please include Tea/Coffee & Juice not just allow a choice of one or the other. Juice could also be served in a bigger glass with ice. Fruit portion was not enough for three people to share. Last night I ordered a pancake for dessert, unfortunately it was undercooked & chewy.

Mario and his wife were very friendly and helpful. As soon as we arrived, they offered us hot tea and pancakes, since it was quite cold and we had arrived late. They were attentive at all times and always available for anything we needed. The place itself is very cozy, clean, and beautifully adorned. It has everything you need to make your stay very pleasant. The bed was the most comfortable we found throughout our entire trip in Asia. The views are incredible, and the breakfast was very good with many options to choose from. Good Wifi. After reading the reviews about flies, we were a little worried, but we didn't find it that annoying. The biggest problem is when you eat something outside in the sun. That's why we enjoyed our breakfast inside, but with unbeatable views of the outside. :) Without any doubt, we highly recommend this place! And we wish you good luck with your new place! You really deserve it! :)

The only drawback is the road, especially the last part, which is a bit complicated and bumpy. However, if you go slowly, you can manage it without any problem on a scooter. The views and the tranquility of the place make it worthwhile. :)

Mario and his wife are starting this homestay with all their efforts and dedication. You notice it from the decoration in the rooms, the cleanness of the place but most importantly the time that they take to welcome you, to explain all you need, to serve double breakfast (just bfore leaving for the trek at sunrise and after coming back from the volcano), to offer you his personal motorbike if you have a problem… We stayed just one short night bfore ascending the mount batur, but we appreciated their kindness and we found it a perfect base to have a rustic yet qualitatif rest bfore the trek to the summit.

just perfect. room is very cozy and clean. you’ll wake up to the beautiful mountain view in the morning and have a cup of coffee while enjoying the sound of birds chirping. staff is very helpful as well. when you need something they message you back quickly and help you. there is a restaurant at villa serving foods for very reasonable prices and there are also a could of restaurants nearby so you always have something to eat.

It feels brand new, clean, and very private. They only have 3 rooms so far. Their yard is what I like the most. You can see the mountain from the room. Soaking up the sun in the morning at the yard while enjoying my cappuccino was very memorable. They also helped me to arrange the mount batur trekking trip, very recommended! Their nasi goreng was very yummy! They also have a very cute cat as a front desk 😆

Their water pressure was a lil bit weak (understandable because it's very far from the city)

Everything! Just a wonderful location with amazing hosts ~ watch a magical view of the mountains and lake throughout the day, from the bed or balcony. Mario & his partner are so lovely, kind and welcoming, as are the rest of his family in the area, they have good English and are attentive hosts who deserve all the success with their new business :) Spacious room, very comfy bed & pillows with cosy duvet, nice woven decorations and beautiful wooden details throughout. Bedding and towels all new & clean, bathroom had nice addition of plants. There's no AC or fan as it's not needed at this altitude, the room temperature is just right. Take long sleeves (arms & legs) for evening as all restaurants are outdoor and also for the hike. Book your Batur hike through Mario and they will pick you up at the end & take you to the hot springs (with unlimited time, not just 1 hour as we overheard lots of people were given by their guides) and pick up after.

Very clean room and sheets, clean ensuite toilet for each room with hot water. Comfortable poufs inside the room for lounging on out of the sun and away from the daytime flies. The property is situated amidst farmland so you can walk around and see lots of fresh local vegetables being grown. The view from the yard is stunning when the clouds part. A small warung is just behind the property and portions are generous.

Kintamani in general has a lot of flies in the daytime due to the presence of farmland. It isn’t an issue specific to the property but it does make it hard to sit outside to have a meal in the daytime.

Hillside Bali is truly a hidden gem. If you are tired of busy south coast head to the North and experience some real Bali. Mario and his wife were one of the modest and kind people we met on our travels and I really wish everyone to experience their endless hospitality. The two villas are brand new and offering everything you need. Bed and linen are 5* hotel quality and everything is crystal clear. We felt really welcomed and honestly happy we could support some local owners. Mario can organize a guide to Mt. Batur, motorbike rental or cheaper tickets to the hot springs.

The owners are amazing, friendly, welcoming and helpful. They have a wonderful place, very beautiful and very well maintained. We booked the tour to Mount Batur with them and everything went well and serve us some pancakes before. They also helped us with the driver to Amed. Thanks for everything.🙏
