My stay at Mimpi Resort Tulamben was amazing and far beyond expectations. The resort has a beautiful traditional Balinese style – I loved the thatched roofs, the outdoor stone bathrooms, and the small private courtyard. It’s peaceful and quiet, and falling asleep to the sound of ocean waves was magical. Surprisingly, there were hardly any mosquitoes! The food and drinks at the restaurant were great. I came mainly for diving, and both the hotel and the dive guides were very professional and helpful. The black volcanic sand beach here is also unique and stunning – a special part of the experience. On the night of July 2nd around midnight, I woke up with intense stomach pain. I believe it was due to eating too much chili and diving without breakfast. I went to the front desk for help, and I’m incredibly grateful to Komang Sudarma, Ketut Sopel, and another staff member (sorry I didn’t catch his name) who were so kind. They took me to the emergency clinic, stayed with me, brought water, and even helped cover the upfront cost. I felt much better after the treatment. The next morning, the kitchen even made a bowl of plain porridge for me upon request – such a thoughtful gesture. The staff here are truly wonderful, the rooms are clean and peaceful, and the whole place feels like a hidden gem. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Tulamben to dive the USAT Liberty wreck!

It is next to the beach and it has this amazing pool area next to restaurant . We enjoyed all our meals at sunset with cool breeze and lovely staff made our stay pleasant! And not to forget all the activities arranged by hotel itself.they have their own diving center with amazing guides ..

Nothing as such! But only thing i felt little uncomfortable that there were no indians around and they are not very much familiar with indian culture or food so if you are travelling from India you should think a little. First day i felt little out of place because you know how everybody thinks about Indians. Which made me little sad.. but staff was extra sweet and they made us feel home shortly!!

All the staff were friendly and helpful from the time we arrived to being waved goodbye, a lovely family atmosphere. The restaurant and pool area are perfectly situated with amazing views of the water. The food was exceptional and restaurant staff so friendly and helpful. The dive centre had great instructors, very knowledgeable regarding local dives. There are water stations with filtered water to fill your bottles situated around the accommodation area. Will come and stay again. Thank you for a beautiful experience.

The resort was wonderful. The room had everything you could want. Important things for me was a good shower and a kettle in the room - this had both. The location was spot on, each dive location that we wanted was five mins in either direction. I loved that they had glass bottles for water, and a water bottle refilling station - great not to have single use plastics in the room! The shower was very nice and felt exotic as it was outside. Breakfast was nice and we ate each evening there. The prices were very reasonable and the quality was great.

The water in the shower was never hot, it was tepid which wasnt a major problem. Most mornings we were woken up by road noise and dogs barking as there is very little sound proofing in the rooms. These are very minor issues, for the price you pay it was really wonderful and I will book again if we are ever that way in the future.

This is an outstanding resort. It is beautifully designed and kept. All the spaces are pleasant to the eye. Even the bathrooms come with a garden! The swimming pool is great and the beach is also nice for swimming when the conditions allow it. Everything we tried in the restaurant was well-executed. The local food options were particularly tasty.

What is there not to like?

Quiet, pleasant staff, good food. Loved the pool/ beachfront area. While Tulamben is quiet, we stayed a week and didn’t tire of the food alternating between Mimpi’s and Slice & Brew.

A wonderful resort filled with plants, ponds and animals. So, don’t expect a sterile insect free environment- friendly millipedes in your shower, frogs hopping around the deck. Mosquitoes weren’t bad.

Nice resort, right next to the sea, very convenient for divers. Great food in the restaurant, rooms are clean and spacious, shower is outdoor but not many bugs. In the middle of our stay my partner sprained her ankle, and the staff at the resort drove us to the hospital and got us taken care of. He even got a wheelchair for us. So our diving trip ended up as three days staying in the resort, but luckily everything is great here.

My only complain would be WiFi speed. But then I guess it’s mostly like that around here.

everything was amazing ..the location 100% , the staff were so friendly , helpful , always with a huge smile . The room was on the smaller side but totally adequate and clean and comfortable . The open air bathroom was amazing ..the food was exceptionally tasty and beautifully presented . Highly recommend a stay in mimpi Resort .

Nothing to say here ..all perfect

Mimpi is mainly a dive resort. It has direct beach access which few resorts have in Tulamben . The resort is well looked after and has lovely grounds. Beds are comfortable and showers always hot. WIFI works well.Water refill stations around the hotel ensure less use of plastic bottles. The dive centre is well organized and the dive times are flexible according to guests wishes. We had a 2:1 ratio of divers to guide which is excellent. We would happily go back on our next dive trip to Bali.

Food and breakfast was disappointing. The rooms closer to the road get a lot of traffic noise from 5 am. I guess this will be the same for pretty much all the resorts in Tulamben as the are on either side of the main road. The resort is one of the pioneer resorts in Tulamben and the rooms as such are a bit on the small end but have a courtyard with a bale for lounging that we never used.

Everything! We checked in at 1.30 am and everyone was so helpful. The view is beautiful, both at the beach and Gunung Batur. The semi outdoor bathroom is fantastic, it dries out the wetsuit. On the check out day, I dropped my luggage lock to the pond and the staff helped me, especially PakDe who dipped his feet to find it. Can't thank you enough, Mimpi!
