Tugu Hotel is very amazing. Everything was so perfect. When you stay at this hotel, you will feel like you are staying in the museum. The hotel has so much antique stuff to discover, every corner is waiting to be discovered. The room we stayed in was very huge, very comfortable, and very clean. The breakfast buffet was so delicious. The a la carte breakfast also had a very big portion and many options to choose from. They also provided afternoon tea every day with very delicious traditional snacks. The staff all were very friendly as well. We felt that we were at home. The Melati restaurant where we had dinner has very delicious meals and it open 24 hours. We feel that We just do not want to leave the Tugu hotel.

EVERYTHING! I actually can't fault the hotel or the staff one bit. You all provide an excellent service and the standards you upkeep are high. Your stay was the highlight hotel of our trip around java. I'm a chef back in England and I appreciate good food and I have to mention the food in your main restaurant (melati restaurant )was the best me and my wife had on our whole trip around java . Great variety and every single one of them is delicious. I will miss your coffees , warm welcome and great service (Thank you Ratna in the main restaurant). Also thank you to John for helping me plan my travels and for explaining the area . Thank you to Wawan, Handi and Alfie for friendly and superb service. All of you do an amazing job . Well done. I will 100 percent now be booking hotel tugu when I stay throughout Indonesia.

My only dislike was the Thai /Vietnamese restaurant. I felt the service and food was nowhere near the same level of that in the main restaurant. Our very last dinner was there and it was very disappointing I won't pin point all the things because overall my stay was excellent. Just something for you all to take in and work on for the future as I know it was apparently your newer restaurant.

The hotel itself is terrific. Very special and spectacular design. Nice touches like the sword for electricity (instead of the normal cardholder) and the fresh fruit. Staff at the hotel is caring, almost a bit too much at times (i can think for myself). Restaurant has good food. Only had breakfast once, but this is very good as well.

In the evening the staff at the restaurant. First evening no complaints. But especially the second evening (and a bit the third as well) I felt totally ignored by the staff after more people entered the restaurant. A lot of the staff is hanging on the counter with their back towards the customers. My drink on that second night came after i already had finished my meal. Sharp contrast with the staff in the rest of the hotel. There was a telephone in the bathroom, hanging exactly where my elbow is when I sit on the toilet. Pushed it off more than once. And it seemed impossible for me to hang it back.

This was our second stay at this property & once again did not disappoint! So many beautiful artefacts & areas of the hotel to explore. We ate in both of the hotel restaurants & the food & service was fantastic . John & Bobby on the reception desk were extremely helpful in providing information & assisting with tours. Special mention to Wawan who provided outstanding assistance in relocating us to another room in the middle of the night due to a problem beyond the hotels control.

Not a problem for us but something to be aware of if you have mobility issues. Our room had a free standing shower but majority have a shower over a deep bath.

The hotel decor is amazing with a picturesque pool and lobby areas. Also the view of the hotel from the outside adds to this. The front of house and housekeeping staff were friendly and welcoming and very helpful. Location is good for exploring Malang. Lots on offer at the hotel and nice to take advantage of free afternoon tea with a great selection. We were given a selection of breads when we left as well, which was a nice touch.

The hotel restaurant food, drinks and service were inconsistent. Sometimes it was slow and other times the quality was not as good. We found the Vietnamese/Thai Restaurant to be better - also on the hotel grounds.

Hamza here again, providing reliable reviews from 35 countries and over 100 hotel stays. There are very few times I say, "this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at," but this is certainly one of those occasions. The extremely high level of customer service and satisfaction means I could easily stay here for another two weeks and still be completely happy. In summary, everything is incredible, from the thoughtful extras like ironing our clothes and polishing our shoes for free! The only surprise, and an area that needs improvement, is the underwhelming gym. Honestly, I wouldn’t even call it a gym. A purpose-built gym is needed to complete the experience. That being said, I will ALWAYS be staying at TUGU Hotels from now on.

Where to begin! Everything about it was fantastic. The staff are absolutely brilliant, all such lovely amazing people. It was so nice to meet them all. The breakfast was delicious, so many options and courses and all of them absolutely fantastic. There is also a buffet so you can try traditional foods, and the staff took time especially to explain everything to us. The food at dinner was equally as superb, we ate at both restaurants and enjoyed every meal. There were so many different choices, and good options for vegetarians. The hotel itself is like an amazing museum; if you appreciate art and history this is the place for you. There’s so much to see and enjoy, every room is full of treasures. You could spend an afternoon exploring the hotel itself. The bathroom is amazing, and we had a little garden outside our room which we loved! The beds were luxurious and the air conditioning was great. The staff helped us organise trips, all of which we thoroughly enjoyed. We went to Bromo, and explored waterfalls. They even offered to drive us to the train station when we were leaving, and help us buy the tickets. The complimentary 10 minute massage was brilliant. The masseuse was very talented. My daughter enjoyed a flower bath, and found it beautiful and very soothing. The complimentary afternoon tea with such a great range of traditional cakes was an added bonus, we really enjoyed it, especially after long day trips. We couldn’t believe the attention to detail, any small comment made the staff picked up on. They are so thoughtful. Honestly everything was perfect, I cannot compliment it enough.

It’s a stunning hotel, so different to anything else! It’s like stepping back in time in the best way possible with lots of beautiful artwork and antiques dotted around. The hotel is in the middle of the city, yet it’s so large with so much greenery around, it feels like you’re in a secluded location somewhere instead. The rooms are beautiful and the bed comfy too! The food is delicious as well, we would recommend both restaurants as we had the opportunity to dine at both and can hand on heart say it was some of the best food we had in Indonesia. The complementary Javanese afternoon tea with biscuits was a nice touch too, and the teas were delicious! Also the staff were lovely and so attentive, even dropping us off at the train station on the last day as we were rushing to get to the train and they noticed we were struggling with our luggage.

A slight niggle, but it would be nice to have a buffet breakfast option every day. On one of the days, we were informed it was a la carte only, which was delicious but we had a tour that we needed to be ready for at a certain time so we had to rush eating our breakfast and couldn’t finish all of it as it’s freshly cooked to order and takes significantly longer than a buffet. That’s our only slight niggle with the hotel though!

This hotel is extraordinary! The staff is heartwarming friendly and also speaks very good english. The Hotel is kind of an oasis right in the middle if the city, where you feel at home and can relax after a city Tour or Bromo sightseeing. The Pool area is really nice, the hotel is huge and there is much to discover - its a little bit like living in a museum :) Everyday you get free afternoon tea with delicious pastries from the own bakery. In the eveving you habe the choice of two Restaurants (indonesian/Western and vietnamese). The menu of the indonesian Restaurant is huge, but all dishes are very delicious and made with so much love. We would haved loved it to stay longer than two nights!

The Tugu is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed and definitely the most original, creative and romantic. In fact, it is a museum of the founder's collection of Asian art, furniture and artifacts, which is incredible. There are multiple creatively designed rooms and spaces you can wander through or sit and little fountains and fish ponds all over the place. The pool in the center is just big enough to do laps in and is sourrounded by beautiful plants. The location is perfect, the staff extremely helpful and riendly, and the restaurants are varied, great, and fairly priced. The hotel made our three-day stay in Malang - where there is not a lot to do - enjoyable. Congratulations to the owner, manager, and staff.

The curtains in our Exective Suite were almost impossible to open, making it a bit dark. The bathroom was alos a bit small.
