I chose this place because it's close to a café I wanted to work from and it was just right. The atmosphere is relaxed, the view is beautiful and everything felt calm and welcoming. There's something refreshingly real about the way Made hosts - he's warm, thoughtful and genuinely helpful. Laundry, scooter rental and even my ticket to Sanur were all sorted with no hassle. I was traveling alone and felt totally safe and comfortable throughout my stay.

Honestly, nothing at all. Everything was easy and just felt right.

One of our favourite stays over the last 4 months in Asia!! Everything was perfect! The rooms were amazing with big comfy beds and plenty of room for your stuff, also a balcony to sit and enjoy the serenity and beautiful view over the hills. The main thing you need is a scooter and you can rent one of them for a good price. It’s only about 10-15 minutes from the main strip of restaurants, bars and everything you need, there is some located closer aswell, scattered through the hills. The host is also amazing, helping with everything we needed, and very kind and welcoming. A big bonus is the 30k breakfast and drink that you can get delivered to your balcony at whatever time you like, the omelettes were awesome! I would 100% recommend staying here, amazing!

Nothing, it was perfect!

I was initially afraid that I would be too isolated from everything else at Ayu Hills, but with a trusted scooter, staying in the hills was an absolute pleasure! The ride down to the closes beach town (10 min) goes by quickly and it was exhilarating to ride through the jungle and past small charming villages. After a long day out on Penida, coming back to the serenity of Ayu Hills was a treat. The views are stunning, the rooms very comfortable, and Made and his family are so charming and accommodating. Stay here if you’re looking for an authentic experience away of the hustle and bustle of trafic and city life!

The location of the property is just mind blowing. If you are planning on a silent and peaceful visit just go for this place.

Breakfast options could be improved

Everything. The remote location up in the mountains, the beauty of the bungalow and gardens, the staff were very accommodating and helpful, and the breakfast was simple but tasty and I ate it on the porch, watching the sunrise 🌅 They also offer scooters to rent, transport to the harbour and tickets for the ferry at a reasonable price! I would highly recommend this place for a quiet, more remote stay!

This is the best place to stay! The bungalows are beautiful. Of you like peace and jungle this is yor place. Also you have everything you need, from scooters rent , taxis or excursions from the hotel . We had the best time there, the personal is so kind and always be there for every need and even more. Im more than grateful with Made, my birthday was so special in this beautiful place!

great place for privacy. we came here with friends, some of our friends were already live here. we celebrated my birthday and i liked the place so much. i stayed for 5 more days. . very quiet, on the mountain. great view in all directions. the owner is great and always ready to help.. the location is good, so active you are almost in the center of the island. and i really like the green color of the bathtub and the garden inside the bathtub. it creates a special atmosphere..

We stayed 4 nights at Ayu Hill and we had a great time. The bungalows are simple, clean and cozy. You have a great view over green hills and the ocean with Mount Batur. The host Madi and his family are a so lovely, the played with our daughter and are open to a chat with every guest. We had time to talk with them about the culture and traditions. If we’re ever on Nusa Penida again, we’ll go there.

The staff were lovely. The surroundings are beautiful and the breakfast was also great. The bed was comfortable too!

A few mosquitoes got into the bathroom due to the open section for ventilation. It did have mesh wire over the opening but the gaps are big. Maybe finer mesh would help keep bugs out :)

Everything was amazing, especially the view! Breakfast was amazing and location are good. Given no easy transport in Nusa Penida, they were able to help us book a guide for tours and also take us to lunch and dinner. Facilities themselves are great, comfy rooms with everything you need.
