Loved the hospitality. The in-house team made our check-in very smooth. They stayed in touch over WhatsApp while we made our way to the island. Once at the island, the coordination of the transfer vehicle was done efficiently by Mr Putu. We were greeted nicely at the property by Wyan. Our luggage was handled well. We were explained everything neatly. Our breakfast preferences were well noted. And our rooms were all ready to welcome us. We stayed for four nights. The daily housekeeping follow-up was superb. They even arranged scooties at a reasonable price during our stay. Any specific requests (be it an extra round of mop, more water, or an early breakfast request) were handled with politeness and a smile. The rooms are aesthetically designed. We had booked Umah Poan. The attic, the pool, the beds, the breakfast sitout, everything was up to the mark. The overall experience at Umah Ilu was one of marvel and fond memories. We look forward to being here again, and again. Love the people. Love the place. Love its history. Love every corner of it.

The location is away from the rush and crowd nestled in the hills covered with lush green cover of trees and gives a perfect view of the forest cover below the resort and the sea as well, the staff is very courteous and helpful. However the only draw back is that one needs a scooty or car to travel down to the market or cafes and restaurants etc.

They only serve breakfast and that too with limited option of 4 types of breakfast and no options of lunch or dinner is there at the resort. Also the main door of the cottage is not having a proper lock which if given would give an extra sense of security to the guest who come to stay.

This place was absolutely incredible. I love the concept of creating traditional homes for guest to stay in. I loved learning about the homes. The view was incredible. The garden was absolutely stunning. And top that all off – the communication and service from the owner and staff was incredible. Being able to get a ride to and from the location included made things feel so useful. The scooter rental was the best scooter I’ve had in my entire time in Bali. Just truly an amazing place.

The staff, especially Wayan, was extremely kind, sweet and attentive to our needs. We had to change accommodation last minute and they picked us up without additional cost. They even apologized for not serving us welcome (coconut) drinks and promised to give it the next day which Wayan did! The room was immense and yes, the bathroom too!! Everything was clean and perfect!!!

The location is far from the main road as it is on top of a hill but they bring you for free to the main road or restaurant of choice!

Stunning property located in the hills a little inland away from the busy streets of restaurants and shops. Beautiful surroundings, lots of nature animals and stunning wildlife. The staff were so kind and helpful, the breakfast was delicious and fresh, the room was amazing: authentic and sleek design, comfortable bed, very efficient air conditioning, drinking water provided (we stayed in the “Poan” room, which means kitchen) We were able to rent a good scooter with the hotel for a very decent price (highly recommend as the property is far away from restaurants and shops, up a very steep hill so not practical walking distance)

This is a great hotel, each room is in the local traditional architecture style, our room has a local name is the kitchen, this room has a lot of space, comfortable spacious double bed, also have a tiny elegant private pool, there is a yoga loft space upstairs, there are very artistic decorative paintings on the wall. There are not many rooms in this hotel, but each room has a private small courtyard outside, and the environment is elegant, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast here is very good, the staff is very friendly, when need to in and out of the hotel just talk to the staff in advance will arrange the transfer. The hotel staff also helped us arrange day trips and ferry tickets.

Calm,serene and away from busy traffic. Friendly staff and exceptionally good breakfast.

Unfortunately, the accommodation doesn't have a restaurant. If you want anything, you have to walk upto the main road head ,possible only if you have a motor cycle with you. Since there are no street lights enroute upto main road , it is difficult to move from 6 pm onwards.

The rooms are super clean and comfortable! We really liked that the staff brought us to the restaurants every time and also picked us up (for free). Just know that there's no swimmpingpool and it can be really hot at Nusa Penida. Also the location is a bit far from restaurants. Umah Ilu Island Retreat is on a hill so not really nice to walk to the center. So you need a scooter or ask them to bring you to a restaurant. Overall we really loved our stay! They organized different tours for us such as a island tour and snorkeltrip, both were great. Thank you so much for everything!

The rooms and the gardens were absolutely stunning. They also deliver your breakfast to the room in the morning which is very convenient. It’s a great place for couples and honeymooners as it’s very relaxing. The beds were super comfortable and the shower was really nice with proper hot water flow. The staff were also really nice and they offer a complimentary shuttle service that will take you to town and pick you up again.

The roosters going crazy the whole night so if you’re a light sleeper make sure to wear earplugs. They have firepits with wood and we would have loved to make a fire and sit around it with some wine but the sprinklers were constantly going so this wasn’t an option. The accommodation is up on a hill and not within walking distance from town. You will need transportation. We rented a scooter for all the days and the staff will assist with this. Scooter deffo helped as we got around the island to all the sites and was easy to get to town and back. It’s quite hilly up to the accommodation with narrow roads so make sure you’re comfortable driving a scooter.

The staff is very friendly. The breakfast offered mutiple choices. Guests needed to pre-book their preferred type and time for breakfast, and the next day the staff would deliver it to their rooms. The taste was quite good. As for the location, it's just a few minutes away by motorbike to a street with restaurants. That street also has many diving centers.

Nothing. The hotel water is saline, but as far as I know, this is common on the island. The staff put a big bottle of purified water on the counter for teeth brushing.
