It was truly a magical experience, hidden away in the rainforest. Our villa was beautifully adorned with Balinese wood carvings and featured a private pool. The bathroom was spacious, with a generous double sink. I especially loved that it had a separate area for getting dressed while enjoying the view. It was so peaceful to hear the river gently babbling nearby. I spent an entire day just taking in the view. I would say this was one of my favourite stays, and I hope to return soon!

The room was a little dark, but very cozy. Instead of having the door near the front, which blocks the view, I would suggest installing a floor-to-ceiling plate glass window. This would allow you to enjoy the view of the rainforest from your bed and bring in much more natural light during the day. I don’t think you need the door, as there is already one to the right that leads to the villa's pool.

This was in my opinion the best resort I have ever stayed in. Our villa was exceptional, the whole resort was quiet and relaxing. The Spa was fantastic and the food was amazing.

The location of the villa was quite isolated. You could not walk out of the villa and go for a walk as there was nothing to see or do close by. So unless you wanted to pay for a taxi and take a 20-30 minute ride you are unlikely to get out of the resort. Some might see this as a positive as it means the resort is quiet and you truly can relax and enjoy all the facilities

I had a 4-night stay with my wife in this hotel. We were on a honeymoon, and to be honest, the hotel exceeded our expectations. Everything was exceptional, however, I like mostly the location where you feel that you are in a jungle, not a hotel. the sound of the river can be heard in your room and can be seen from the restaurant. The food is of very good quality also, and the service is amazing. Moreover, I must say that the views are iconic. in every inch, you can take an amazing photo. BTW, you must try their Photography services.

You have to put in mind that the city center is a bit far though. around 30 minutes by car. Also, because you are in a jungle, you must now that you need a buggy to travel from one place to another inside the hotel. However, the buggy service that the hotel is providing is fast to order and always at your service.

We loved everything about this resort! From the beautiful caring, friendly and professional staff who go above and beyond to be kind and helpful, to the 5-star restaurant with delicious food and outstanding service was delightfully amazing! Staff drive you in a golf buggy to and from your room at any time. The traditional Villas were so beautiful with all the detailed wood carvings and are comfortable and roomy with a lovely big bathroom, comfortable bed and good sized pool with great views of the forest surroundings (and monkeys that sometimes pass by!). Everything was easy to get to and arrange, and the staff made our stay exceptionally wonderful with nothing being too much trouble. We would definitely return again and highly recommend staying here in this wonderful, beautiful place

Although clean, our villa (like many in Bali right now) is starting to look a little tired in areas (in particular some of the soft furnishings and outside patios) that just need some attention/renewal to look their best to uphold the luxury appeal. In their defence, this is just after coming through the global pandemic so it's understandable some minor work to make the villas look amazing and new-ish again would be desirable. I would also like to see actual soap available in the bathroom as an option other than just body wash as well. - But really, we were very happy and well looked-after so there's truly nothing not to like!

The staff at Ayung Resort treated us like royalty! Staff was extremely helpful, friendly, and ready to wait on you at the drop of a hat! If you are looking for the resort experience in Ubud this is the place to go. All staff knew us by name almost immediately. The resort itself is stunning, with jungle views and river views. Our room was absolutely amazing with hand carved wood, and our own personal pool. The restaurant was amazing with great food options, afternoon tea, and room service/floating breakfast options, the view from the restaurant is simply amazing! We enjoyed a Balinese dance at dinner, free yoga, and used the spa which was amazing. We used the shuttle to get downtown and back a few times, but staff was more than happy to arrange us a car if we missed the shuttle times.

The rooms were exactly as shown in the photos. They were spacious but cleanliness could have been better. The staff is very courteous and prompt. Food at the restaurant is excellent. The location is beautiful but far away from main city. they have shuttle arrangements though.

Cleanliness wasn’t up to the mark, also the restaurant and other amenities are priced higher than expected. The place is situated in the middle of a jungle and there is no scope of venturing out after sunset to fetch for anything. They have a weird policy of giving only 600 ml of water per person everyday, which seemed strange.

We were welcomed with a beautiful honeymoon set-up and were offered a generous cake as well! Beautiful location, really overlooking the jungle. You would need a vehicle if you want to move around, the hotel offers a transfer to the city center but the hours didn't work for us so we used taxis. Breakfast was à la carte, very generous and tasty. The villa with private pool was gorgeous and the setting stunning. We were even visited by monkeys in our balcony! Worth to do all your laundry here, the prices were incredibly cheap compared to other similar hotels we visited in Indonesia.

Nothing needs improvement as such. Maybe remember that you will be in the middle of the jungle, and that comes with different fauna. We were always visited by geckos that left poo on the villa floor, or in the bathroom surfaces, we didn't know at first what it was, but the hotel staff was very quick in coming to clean everything up. Also, be mindful that some of the villas are less "private" than others. Meaning that from some angles we had other rooms overlooking on our pool, if you want complete privacy make sure to ask for a villa without anyone above.

We absolutely loved the staff, their amazing hospitality and the stunning setting. They live by their mantra "Making the impossible possible." We also loved the beautiful spotted deer, Kingfisher birds, and visits by the wild monkeys. We very much appreciated their eco focus too. Mini bar (coke, milo, coffee, milk, Oreos, Pringle's, water), breakfast and afternoon tea were included. On the mornings we had to leave before the restaurant opened, they had breakfast boxes and juice packed up and ready to go. The chefs are exceptional - delicious satay ayam and soft shelled crab. Delicious all you can eat breakfast ordered off the menu. Amazing coffee. Wonderful selection of local treats for afternoon tea. The Balinese set menu dinner offered twice a week was a real treat. The staff are all extremely knowledgeable about the history of the hotel, etc. Exquisite spa centre with a comprehensive selection of treatments which were well priced in comparison to Australia. The laundry service was exceptional and the pricing so reasonable it wasn't worth going outside. I can't say enough about the staff, their beautiful natures, engaging and joyful attitudes - they made every day more special.

A great getaway in the Ubud rainforest. Our stay was amazing and the staff were always friendly and helpful. The room and all facilities were always clean. I'd planned this trap as a romantic getaway to Ubud and this resort delivered without a doubt. As the resort is located a little outside of the centre of Ubud the free shuttle to and from town was very useful and the free daily breakfast was high quality and meant we didn't need to stress about going to town each morning for breakfast or rely on snacks. Food could also be delivered to our room from the restaurant without any additional delivery cost. The restaurant overall has a great ambience and the view of the valley was great. They also have an extra dinner space on the floor above the restaurant for events and private dinners. The resort is quite spacious despite being located on a steep hillside, so the fitness centre and pool beside our room was never overcrowded which made for a really relaxing experience. Free WiFi throughout the resort meant we didn't need to buy a data sim during our stay in Ubud. All this for a relatively low price given the quality of service and facilities.

The WiFi could be faster but with a strong signal throughout the resort this really wasn't an issue.

The dining room views and aspect were amazing. As the bifold all gass doors were permanently open, one could sit inside the restaurant and still feel close to the tropical environment. Alternatively one could sit on the outside narrow verandah with just the railings between you and the most amazing views accros the valleys and the forest areas. The choices for breakfast were more than adequate and as a complimentary, eat all you can gesture, I think that the food was a very good and wholesome. Likewise the service and politness of the staff was above and beyond. The dining room was very clean with ample sized tables spaced apart to give the feeling of space and not being cramped or crowded. Table placings were good with nice cutlery, plates, cups and glasses. The choices were wide and interesting with options for all our tastes. There was a good mix of asian, balinese and european foods. The quality of the dinner meals was truly surprising, very nicely displayed with very interesting flavours and extremely tasty . They have an extensive drinks menu and downstairs a dedicated drinks cellar showcasing a very impressive collection of wines and spirits from which one can choose. The staff were so, so polite and attentive. I really cannot overstate how much I appreciated the staff's welcoming attitude. Its a small point, but they remembered our names from the first day we arrived. We did eat in Ubud and although some might argue that the cost there would be a bit cheaper than Ayung's restaurant, in my opinion there would be no comparison in the quality of service and food between the two. As a result we ate here 4 days out of 5. Furthermore, without paying double or triple the cost in the UK, I would not be able to tell you where you could get the same quality and value for money.

I felt the breakfast juices could have been better, Sometimes the drinks took too long to materialise.
