Very beautiful and done with the surroundings in mind. The whole ethos of the hotel is very unique. It was with careful thoughts and you can get a glimpse of what the host is trying to show the guests- a beautiful jungle with wonderful wildlife and amazing views. Food are organic, i loved the organic produce on offer and the washing products feel very natural. The repellent cream was wonderful and natural too.
The staff were slightly routine and keep moving thing back to where is should be. It’s not their fault but perhaps a chair was move because it’s more comfortable to sit in that area, the staff will keep moving it back to where it should be, just small things like that which could change. The mosquitoes net is not air tight around the aircon. I was eaten alive on a couple of nights without understanding how I was bitten so badly.

The property is perfectly located for the Ubud area, and still secluded away from the crown. The natural landscape around the rooms is stunning and offers a lot of relaxing areas. I especially loved the swings around the natural pools near the breakfast area.
There was nothing I didn’t like as the place is stunning! just a note to say that this is not a facility suitable for people with walking difficulties as the breakfast area is only reachable by walking in the forest and down many steps and bridges. There used to be a lively bamboo elevator but this will only bring you half way. We stayed in the Erin and Eloise two bedroom villa and this was perfect for family with two kids or 4 friends but note it is on two levels and bathrooms are both on the ground floor.

Amazing architecture and the most stunning views, it feels like you're in a really remote place while still being near Ubud. The natural pool area is beautiful and a lovely place to relax. Our room had everything we could want and was so charming, with interesting and thoughtful features everywhere. The staff are so lovely and helpful and having our own WhatsApp group was a very clever and useful touch! We also appreciated the mosquito repellent in the room and common areas!
Staying here was a really magical experience. If we had to suggest room for improvement, the spa facilities could be improved a bit and it would be great if mosquito repellent could be provided there also. I think the breakfast choices could also be improved (though what's on offer is very tasty). Guests should be aware that there can be quite a bit of walking and steep steps but this is part of the experience in staying in this kind of property imo! I think it had stated that there is a shuttle from the hotel into Ubud but the staff didn't seem to be aware of this and instead offered us a (quite expensive) taxi.

The hotel is incredible. You see nature everywhere. They use all the space that they have to create a unique experience. Having the breakfast under the river was so relaxing. They have their own garden to cultivate salads, rice ... The staff was extremely caring and nice. Surya was so nice and caring with us. Thank you everyone that had made our experience unforgettable. The Jawa Lama is a beautiful room with an outside shower. It was really cool to take the shower outside in the nature.

If you’re seeking something truly unique, Bambu Indah is the place to be. Every inch of this property is meticulously designed with a keen eye for detail, brimming with delightful surprises around every corner. We had the pleasure of staying in the Moonhouse, which boasts a breathtaking view of the forest with an open setting. Waking up each morning to the lush greenery was like magic. Highly suggest you to take a walk around the property, don’t be scared to get lost. Treehouse will be our next destination on the list if we visit next time.
Food options can be a little richer, especially breakfast.

Easily the most incredible place I’ve ever stayed. I asked Chat GPT to find me an eco friendly resort in Bali and this was the first to come up woowoo!! After deeply reading through Bambu Indah’s website, I quickly became fascinated about the concept and integration of living in nature. This place is truly one of a kind- the service, food, rooms, amenities, employees and everything are all reasons why! I stayed in the Starling Room with my husband and it was the perfect amount of space for the two of us. We booked through Booking.com for a little discount too which was helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor shower and all the natural pools sprinkled through the resort. There is so much land to explore in this jungle resort! Walk across all the cool bamboo bridges, play in the river, and don’t forget to find the hidden underground tunnels with bathrooms!! Complimentary breakfast was delicious and our fave way to start each day. We booked services/experiences outside of the resort bc they are a bit pricey here. Otherwise, this was the best stay EVER 11/10

Everything was extraordinary. The property is unique in its concept and implementation. Bamboo architecture is everywhere: from the rooms and villas to the restaurants, the incredible lift cut into the hillside and the bridges over the rivers. The jungle surrounds and views of the rice terraces are wonderful. The pools by the river have place to sit and relax and are cool and refreshing. The food was the best we had in Bali. The staff were very helpful, friendly and informative. Amongst those we spoke with were Hendra in the restaurant and Dea and Wati at reception.
We liked everything about the property.

Bambu Indah is a delightfully designed hotel, full of original flourishes, bamboo bridges, cascading water and lovely rooms. We stayed in Sumba House, which was a wonderful representation of a Sumba village house - we loved the ikat furnishings and design. Our young children loved the ladder up to the second sleeping area in our room and the bamboo lift in the main hotel bar which brought them out lower down the valley. The landscaping is enchanting - each morning going to breakfast felt like setting off on a jungle adventure, involving walking through rice paddies by the reception area to descending the verdant valley and crossing rivers. We ate breakfast there, which was very good. The multiple natural pools at the bottom of the valley were deliciously cool, and the sound of rushing river water was wonderfully peaceful. Lots of very nice hang out areas around the pools, which made a great place to stay with our children. The hotel will not be for everyone (see other comments below), and while we loved it we also thought after creaking around on the bamboo flooring in our room that two nights was about the right amount of time to appreciate it! It's not often we come across such a wonderfully unique place to stay.
We loved it. The property would not be suitable for those who are unsteady on their feet or have a craving for flat surfaces! There are irregular steps everywhere, and the floor of our room (the spacious Sumba House) was made entirely of bamboo poles, which led to eventful and fun journeys in any direction.

We stayed two nights at Bambu Indah and it was definitely not enough. We would have loved to stay longer. We were struck with the nature from the moment we arrived. The feeling being here is out of this world, the staff is the kindest, they arranged everything for us from manicure to a silver jewelry workshop. The food at the River Warung was delicate, full of flavors, and very tasty. We got to try two different types of houses during our stay. Both were very well furnished and decorated, super clean. We loved the sound of nature around us. It’s a perfect stay that went beyond our expectations, we will come back !

Bambù Indah is a beautiful complex of small pavilions nested in the jungle in front of a river. Beautiful bar overlooking the rice fields and beautiful river area with one of the two restaurants. If you don’t have issues with walking a bit to reach your room and if you love being surrounded by wild beautiful nature, you should book one of the tents or moon house. I loved it. There are also villas that are less far from the reception/pool area and easier to reach. Very nice overall :) we also dined at Tembaga restaurant with our two friends who both live in Bali since many years and came to visit us for dinner- it was really delicious and well prepared/refined Indonesian food!
I would limit day passes to a couple days a week maximum as the place is not cheap and people who stays there may like a more “private”/ less noisy day time in the beautiful river area!
