If I were to try to write down all the lovely things about this property and my stay here, I’d surely run entirely out of room. The bed and bedding was some of the most luxurious and comfortable accommodations I’ve had over my entire trip (and I’ve been in Ireland, all over, for almost a month). The breakfast was delicious, filling, and picture perfect. My toast even SAID ‘good morning’! Daphne’s garden is the best place to spend a sunny afternoon reading. And they light a gorgeous fire in the lounge in the evening. I, honestly, wish I had booked there for much longer than I had. The town is quiet and quaint but SO conveniently located to the train station that it makes for a PERFECT base camp for exploring all of the county Wicklow seaside towns - from Arklow up to Bray. There is also a Centra literally across the street from the BnB so anything you need is within immediate reach and it is just a short walk (or even shorter drive) to the incredible Beyond the Trees at Avondale.

We loved everything about Stirabout Lane, the perfect location for Avondale & Glendalough. The spotlessly clean en suite bedroom was massive with the most comfy bed. The guest living area was so cosy with the fire on & as many books as one could read! The breakfast menu is fabulous, i wanted to stay longer, just to try everything out - little tip, the pancakes are a must. But our host Daphne was such a wonderful person, with great recommendations for food & and things to do! This B&B is a rare find and we highly recommend staying here, we will definitely be back.
Nothing!

This B&B is very unassuming from the street but once you enter, it is exceptional. Absolutely charming, wonderful attention to detail, exceptionally clean. The fresh cut flowers in our bedroom really put it over the top. The garden is gorgeous. We had two rooms in the back building - all were happy
It was pretty perfect. This was a stop over so I can’t speak to what the town had to offer. But if you’re in the area and you need a nice clean place to stay, Daphne is a wonderful host.

Daphne was an incredibly lovely host who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. She accommodated my request for a vegan breakfast without any hesitation, provided great advice for an evening meal, and would have provided me with a packed lunch as well if I had wanted. The residents lounge was a lovely area to relax and meet other guests. The property including the garden are beautiful and steeped in history. I was expecting only a simple room but it far exceeded this. The bed and room were cosy and comfortable with a very will appointed en suite. I had a wonderful view overlooking the garden and valley and was woken by the sound of the dawn chorus which was fabulous. I travel a good bit and must say that I was blown away with how amazing this place (and Daphne) was. It was reflected when talking to other repeat guests and with Daphne herself of course. If you have found this review and are undecided where to stay for your visit to Wicklow, I can truly tell you to stop searching and BOOK YOUR STAY NOW!
I can honestly say that there wasn't a thing that I didn't like.

Wonderful breakfast with a great choice and quality ingredients and great attention to detail. We felt very at home and it was a wonderful introduction to a part of Ireland we had not visited before. Daphne and her family were very hospitable and knowledgeable as well as being approachable and friendly. Everything was clean, tidy and immaculate and it would be hard to find any fault at all. Would absolutely recommend. It is so close to some many beautiful places to visit as well as being in the centre of town which has excellent pubs and restaurants.

This was our favorite place to stay in Ireland. Daphne is so kind and full of positive energy, very welcoming. The room was so cosy and cute and the bathroom was so fancy. We loved the tea set in our room, the bed was super comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, many options to choose from. The whole place looks and feels so much better in real life than in the photos. We were sad we were only staying for that one night.

This place is really like from a fairy tale. I loved every detail in the whole house. The biggest gem is Daphne, sweet, funny, cheerful. Communicative, willing, helpful, hospitable. Her breakfast was divine, every day we had to taste something different. Every time it was excellent. The place is great, close to beautiful mountains and cities. Quiet with parking. Thank you very much for a wonderful 3 days. I hope we come back.

Daphne has been at this for apparently 24 years and knows what she's doing. Everything was perfect and the breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. Decor in our large room was modern and tasteful and the shower was good. Bed was large and comfy. Quite a few things to do in the area if you have a car and are willing to drive 15 or 20 minutes.
Nothing really. There was a limited supply of restaurants in the town but that was mostly due to the season and day that we arrived, but the two that were open were very nice and very close by for walking.

Breakfast very good. Daphne and Pat were extremely helpful. The decor is amazing and interesting. The bed was very comfortable. Very comfortable sitting room to share. Rathdrum is a good location for accessing County Wicklow.
Shower was a little small for a larger body. Be aware there are stairs to negotiate but Pat will assist with luggage.

Our hostess met us at the door and very kindly checked us in making us feel most welcome. The room we stayed in was adorable and very clean. We were provided a delicious breakfast in the morning and it remains the best we’ve had in Ireland. The grounds and inside atmosphere were lovely and peaceful. I 100% recommend this B&B and would stay here again in the future.
