This was one of the most gracious settings we have stayed in. The host could not have been more accommodating and helpful. The experience was one of staying in a villa in a beautifully appointed and gated yard with magnificent and well cared for gardens within the city limits of Rome. As we arrived late and had to leave at 6:30am to catch our flight home we unfortunately were not able to enjoy the pool or the breakfast. However, our kind host greeted us EARLY in the am with cappuccino and coffee he had made for us knowing of our early departure. He had even arranged for a taxi on our behalf. Possibly the most luxurious shower in our Italian travels!

Although the bed was very comfortable - there needed to be additional pillows. It was difficult to get to the airport from this location with a very limited availability of taxis or ubers - hence the need to leave so very early.

One of the best experiences we had during our trip. Staying here felt less like being in a hotel and more like being welcomed into the home of a warm and generous Italian aunt — or perhaps a distant relative with a beautiful, artistic home. The atmosphere was elegant yet cozy, like sleeping in the house of someone refined and cultured. Every corner felt like a work of art, almost like walking through a private museum. The design, the details, the personal touch — it was simply enchanting. Breakfast was served with a menu and a smile, and the hospitality throughout our stay was truly personal and kind. We felt seen, cared for, and entirely at ease. Highly recommended — not just for the comfort, but for the heart.

Our room was comfortable in a large house with views over the garden, not far from the airport and the centre of Rome. The owners and their daughter Raffaella were friendly, helpful and attentive. The grounds and the building were beautiful. We had planned to park our car (with luggage) after checking out and get the train to see some of the sites of Rome. However, none of the parking areas we had found had favourable reviews. Raffaella recommended a safe multi storey car park by a metro station approximately 20 minutes drive from the house and on top of the station, which we found and within 20 minutes we were at the Colosseum.

A beautiful house. Decorated so attractively making it a very soothing place and the views of the lovely green foliage outside from all the windows. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious and very clean and again decorated beautifully. The photos are a true reflection of the accomodation. The breakfast was so fresh and tasty served to us by the very pleasant and gracious hostess.

I stayed one night and would have liked more time there. Didn’t dislike anything about it.ill be back!

Unfortunately we had to leave for our flight so did not get to eat breakfast. We had heard it was excellent. The guest house was charming, beautiful patio in the back with lots of seating.

I was concerned to see that the room tax per person was listed as $3.50 per night per guest on booking.com. When we got there and paid it was $7 per night per guest. Apparently Rome had increased it. the guest house said to contact booking.com because it was not posted correctly. booking.com has a disclaimer on their site that says the information they provide is from the hotel. Now I am trying to figure it out. I think the guest house needs to get in touch with booking.com

Absolutely charming and beautifully decorated. The owners were very friendly and spoke good English, which was a real bonus for us non Italian speaking Brits. Breakfast at the large round table on the terrace was lovely, so too was the yoghurt & fruit, and banana cake. In the baking heat, aircon in the room was so appreciated. The property was impeccably clean. It was a 10mins stroll to a local shopping centre with 5 restaurants / cafes. It’s a taxi ride to get a metro into Rome.

Mosquitos are an issue everywhere, not just here, and they try their best to control them.

La Gaura is a beautiful Italian villa in the suburbs of Rome. Our room was light, clean and spacious with everything we could need. The car parking is secure and we also took up the option to hire the on-site bikes to visit the coast. We didn't have time to use the swimming pool, but it looked delightful. We commuted into Rome by driving to EUR Magliana station and getting the train from there. The drive took us around 25 mins, but in quieter traffic, it would be around 15. The trains are around every 10 mins. The parking cost was €1.50 per day!

Italian roads and drivers - especially close to the cities - are a law unto themselves - this made our cycle ride a bit of a challenge, but that is probably more about our inexperience than anything else. We were advised to park in the station car park due to our car being on uk plates and being a potential target for thieves. The car park is a multi-storey and has cctv coverage. However, it was full when we arrived, but we waited in a queue for about 20 mins for others to leave before the barriers would allow us to enter.

Owners communicated promptly re. directions to get to the property. We had an early flight, and they provided breakfast before the kitchen opened. Thank You. The pool is refreshing on a hot summers day.

Its better to have a car if you are staying here. Its not a long walk from the bus stop , but with luggage and the hot roman sun, it can be tiring and a bit of a trek. The taxi journey to Ostia Antica and back , cost us €50 ( June'25)

The house and room were beautiful, it was clean, neat and quiet. The hosts were very kind and gave us information about the region and Rome. The breakfast was excellent and we were able to sleep in and still have breakfast till 10 o'clock, which is nice when you are on vacation. The garden and pool were very nice.

Limiting the pool opening hours till 7pm makes a late night swim when returning from the hot center of Rome not possible but it is kind of understandable to keep the peace and quiet of the domain.

We had an amazing and relaxing time at Aldo and Lauras place. This house and surroundings looks beautiful just like the photos or more than that. The home made breakfast was excellent. Do try out their pistachio croissant. The place is really clean and beds were very comfortable. The family who runs this place goes above and beyond to ensure that we have a good time. Thanks to Juliana for all the excellent hospitality and for booking us the airport taxi. Will definitely recommend.
