We loved the location – nestled in the Tuscan hills, it was the perfect place to relax and disconnect, with breathtaking views all around. The staff were incredibly attentive – special thanks to Dario for the warm welcome. Locanda Le Piazze is just a 15-minute drive from Castellina in Chianti, a charming village full of local restaurants, and ideally placed for exploring the Chianti region, Siena, and beyond. Returning to the hotel’s swimming pool after our day trips was a real treat. We didn’t have time to use the gym or book the spa, but we had breakfast at the hotel every day – it was varied and tasty, with lovely views of the garden and hills. Our room stayed cool thanks to the AC and ceiling fan, and we slept perfectly even during the hot days of our stay.

Everything was great

Our stay at Locanda Le Piazze was nothing short of enchanting – a place so special, so serene, that we ended up postponing our flight home just to stay longer. And even that felt too short. The entire property is an absolute dream. Every corner feels like a scene from a fairytale – lovingly designed, full of charm, and inviting you to pause, breathe, and simply enjoy. The views over the Tuscan hills and surrounding vineyards are breathtaking, with golden light and rolling landscapes stretching as far as the eye can see. It’s hard to imagine a more magical setting. The atmosphere is one of peaceful elegance. Whether walking through the gardens, relaxing by the pool, or enjoying a quiet moment under the trees, there’s a sense of stillness that feels both grounding and luxurious. It’s a place where time slows down – in the best possible way. The team at Locanda Le Piazze deserves the highest praise. The staff were exceptionally warm, professional, and always went the extra mile with a genuine smile. There’s a special kind of hospitality here – a perfect blend of attentiveness and heart that made us feel truly welcome from the very first moment. Our room was beautiful – spacious, serene, and tastefully furnished, with every comfort thoughtfully considered. And the food? Exquisite. Every dish we had was a celebration of flavor, quality, and creativity. Dining here is an experience in itself. We’re deeply grateful to the entire team for making our stay so memorable. Locanda Le Piazze has captured our hearts – we’re already looking forward to coming back.

Our two night stay here was perfect. The location, room, staff, breakfast & pool area were all exceptional. Plentiful sun loungers.

The only negative, as such, was the gym area. It is pictured indoors, but was in fact outdoors in a glassed area making it even warmer than the 30+ degree temperatures. There was fresh fruit water, but no air conditioning, fan, gym towels or cleaning facilities to wipe after use. Otherwise, would have been 10/10 stay! Please note, this is just a minor issue - because the outdoor view & facilities of the gym were otherwise exceptional.

Locanda Le Piazze was one of the most magical places on our Italian adventure. After the hustle & bustle of the cities, the Tuscan landscape was the ideal remedy. The hotel is ridiculously gorgeous - every corner is beautiful: the restaruant, gardens, pool, bar, foyer, main house - & the rooms are just perfect! The ideal, picture-book Tuscan dream. The staff were beautiful & just so welcoming : Zory was amazing (helpful, informative, sweet & kind) & makes a perfect espresso! The other staff were exactly the same - just lovely. Food was delicious - breakfast was perfect, dinners fabulous - highly recomend 'Bistecca Night'. This was absolutely luxury - we will definately be back.

Not a thing!

We loved the location, the pool, the healthy breakfasts, the dining experiences (fantastic staff in restaurant). Staff all very friendly. Bed extremely comfortable, housekeeping 5 star.

We felt the private dining/sofa area outside Room 5 needed more attention, perhaps a plant on the table, nice cushions etc. It felt rather unloved and not the nicest place to relax. Odd music in restaurant one night whilst fine dining (loud 70s punk playing?!). Staff around the pool very inattentive. Sun-lounger cushions never set out ready each day, no staff telling new guests to grab a cushion, people laying on their towels unaware cushions available. Never once saw any staff wandering around checking in on guests. It’s 4 star but with a few tweaks could be easily be 5 star. Needs a General Manager who’s out and about around the guests interacting.

The very serious looking rather fierce looking receptionist felt intimidating as you arrived. She was very efficient but far from welcoming. Also the dinner service took itself far too seriously. The formality seemed incongruous for the setting which is rather rustic chic. There is another restaurant walking distance from the hotel which is very nice but also very pricey. The closest town is a very windy road to drive and so the choice of eating is limited. Would be great to have a more casual dining option for dinner.

What a beautiful hotel located in the hills of wine country! They offered us everything we could imagine and provide such kind hospitality! We loved our complimentary facials and the romantic dinner at their 4 star restaurant on the terrace! Everything was beautiful and immaculate!! We can’t wait to return for our anniversary!

(We would love to have an option of a room with a hot tub.)

The most calming property I’ve ever visited. Everything was exceptional - the food, the staff, the rooms, the facilities, everything. The pool was so relaxing with a good amount of chairs for the size of the resort. We had the privilege to eat at Tavola di Guido for the tasting menu and it’s a meal I will never forget. We also did the olive oil and wine tasting which was delicious and very informative. This property offers so much that you really don’t have to leave. Would love to come back!

Excellent views from the pool area in particular. Restaurant was very good. Service overall was excellent between restaurant and hotel. The only problem for us was wi-fi. We had an Executive Room where my husband needed to do a bit of remote work including Zoom meetings but the wifi was not reliable so he had to go elsewhere outside our room to do those things.

The view, our room and the location was perfect. The rooms were clean with a great size bathroom and a lovely large patio. The restaurant and food was amazing! Breakfast was also excellent!

Very limited bistro menu, and restaurant gets fully booked quickly. Also, the staff at the pool were not always very friendly and forth-coming. We had guests visit the one day and they were not keen to serve them food.
