Villa Mucellena is a lovely place, ideally placed between Siena (25 mins) and Florence (55). You sleep in old, beautiful villa, you swim in a poll bigger than it looks on pictures. And you can have breakfast and lunch - very tasty and affordable. The staff is veeeery helpful - thank you Anna and Viola!!! Great place to stay for a few days!

Nothing. The place is really perfect

Villa Mucellena We spent two wonderful weeks at the beautiful Villa Mucellena. The entire complex is very well maintained, quiet and exudes a special feel-good atmosphere. Our apartment was clean, spacious and tastefully furnished. The beautifully landscaped pool area is the perfect place to relax and refresh, especially during the warm summer days. One highlight was the freshly prepared, high-quality food – some of which was sourced from the resort's own garden. Every meal was a delight and was absolutely top-notch cuisine. The idyllic location of the villa at an altitude of around 500 metres also made the summer temperatures pleasantly bearable and provided a fantastic view of the Tuscan countryside. The friendly and dedicated team further enriched our stay and made us feel completely at home. We would love to come back – a clear recommendation for anyone looking for relaxation, enjoyment and Italian hospitality!

We certainly enjoyed our stay. The Villa is located pretty far away from Tuscan towns, people, up on the hill - which is perfect for a quiet, peaceful stay. You can enjoy your morning coffee with a fresh cornetto, then sunbathe and swim in the pool which is of appropriate size. No crowds in common areas, just a bunch of families and couples enjoying their peaceful vacations. The Villa is located a 30 minute drive from nearest towns which are full of great restaurant and cafes. On Saturday we were offered dinner cooked by the owner, it was delicious and we highly recommend this experience. Location is great for people wanting to unwind and visit a couple of Tuscan towns. Not that great for somebody wanting to sightsee all of them. There are multiple rest areas through the villa and its gardens, you can find a nice spot anywhere you’d like.

Overall everything was great. Being Europeans we’re used to the lack of AC, but keep in mind the rooms lack this feature. We didn’t have a corkscrew in our room, so we’ve bought one and left it there, but might be a good idea to include wine glasses and corkscrews in every room for people to enjoy their own bottle of wine :) The last thing to keep in mind is your own car is mandatory. Without a rental we wouldn’t be able to reach the place using public transportation. Again - for us it was a good thing :)

Viola and her family were super hosts. Our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We booked fresh pastries and coffee each day for breakfast. Great value. We had lunch one day cooked by Viola and her mum and the food was amazing. We also took the opportunity to take a cooking class which was so relaxing and fun. We were attending a wedding at Castello di Celsa and Villa Mucellena's location was very convenient for this.

Nothing. It was a perfect stay for us.

Villa Mucellena is a must if you want to visit Tuscany. We stayed there for three nights on our road trip through Italy and we were so amazed by the experience that we came back at the end of our trip to spend there our last three nights. Viola is the best host you can imagine. She is friendly, responsive and always happy to give us some good local recommendations. If you go there, definitely do not miss out on booking a dinner, if she makes one. Even better than most of the restaurants we visited. She also offers a cooking class where we learned how we could take a small piece of Tuscany with us back home. Truly a great experience we will surely make again next year!

Nothing. Everything was perfect.

The entire experience was very pleasant. We stayed for 2 nights and this new establishment met our expectations - friendly staff and attentive to our needs….very peaceful atmosphere and the room was clean.

Not a major thing but the basic TV wasn’t working or needed additional information (there’s Netflix and. similar platforms that you could pay for…). We didn’t have time to investigate to ask… Also, breakfast is not included but you can make a request for a classic Italian breakfast. If you are gluten free, you probably should bring your own breakfast as I did. There’s a supermarket about 20 minutes away that you could go pick up food before or during your stay.

The room, outside terracces, the pool (!) and most of all Viola who was extremely welcoming and helpful. we had two unfortunate incidents, of which one medical, and she did not hesitate to support to the best of her abilities.

As you can see with the location on the map, the nearest larger town (with supermarket, ice cream place) is about 20 minutes drive, so you need to plan your outings a bit. At the same time this makes the place extremely peaceful.

Very relaxing stay. The villa and grounds look beautiful. The smart TV's with a Netflix account are a nice addition. There was good signage from the road so it was easy to find the villa.

I think they should consider giving at least a croissant or some form of breakfast to those that are room only given it's isolated location. It doesn't present as very good value otherwise. The villa needs to work for those room only rooms as well as the self catering units.
